duncanmckenzieismagic got a reaction from Romey 1878 in Marco Silva
That outlook is fine if your just in it for the money but as I said my primary motivation is being successful and winning trophies. I would much rather have some silverware to show off than finishing fourth

Me too , I’m torn between paying whatever fee they want or just kidnapping him

If the club has a single ounce of ambition then the answer is 100% yes. With the standard of opposition you tend to get in the early qualifiers we could just treat them as preseason friendlies and utilise the kids
The Europa League brings in extra revenue, gets our name out there and attracts players, not to mention it’s a realistic way of qualifying for the Champions League
European away days are superb experiences as are European nights under the lights at Goodison , personally I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want that

duncanmckenzieismagic reacted to Paddock in Weirdness Abounds (or the Idrissa Gana Gueye Thread)
Not gonna read any posts in here just popped in to say he’s been excellent since he was refused his move- kept his head up, not sulked, his energy levels have remained consistent and he was fucking excellent again yesterday. He was everywhere, up and down the pitch and dominated the midfield. We’re so lucky to have him and we’ll struggle to replace him if he goes in the summer.

duncanmckenzieismagic got a reaction from Romey 1878 in Man of the Match v Arsenal
Good performances all over the park today, Seamus kept up his recent good form, Bernard,Gueye, Dean and Gomes were all excellent but I’ve gone for DCL, he may not have got on the scoresheet but he never stopped running all game and showed everyone what he brings to the table, great CF display from him this afternoon

agreed at this point its not about money, we will pay what spurs will pay if we want him, it will be down to the player like Ste says. I think we have the edge he is settled here knows everyone and the manager. Spurs have only 1 portuguese speaker Lucas Moura, we have a contingent and whole management staff. I fancy our odds.

duncanmckenzieismagic got a reaction from MikeO in Marcel Brands (DoF)
Do you really think him putting a spread on at Finch Farm with a few battenbergs and chocolate truffles is going to convince top players to sign for us ?

duncanmckenzieismagic got a reaction from Palfy in Dominic Calvert-Lewin
I agree with a lot of what your saying but I personally don’t overlook all his other attributes. This is his first real run in the side as a CF and you can see he is starting to flourish. Hopefully the goals will come as he develops but yeah we need to bring in a proven CF in the summer and if we do I think that will only help him anyway

Fortunately for him there is a lot more to his game than hard work alone

duncanmckenzieismagic reacted to Romey 1878 in Blue Bill's shiny new stadium at the docks...
I can't see it even coming close to matching Spurs' stadium tbh. That is one hell of a stadium.
Really hoping to be wrong on that - Nil Satis Nisi Optimum

duncanmckenzieismagic reacted to pete0 in Seamus Coleman
I wouldn't get carried away with Coleman. He'll not have an easier day than yesterday, hard to even say who was playing on his side in the first half. Him and Richarlison seemed to be doubled up on Cresswell with little threat.
That said I'd prioritise replacing the spine of the team over Coleman. Keane, Gana, Sigurdssen just don't have the winning mentality to take us up to the next level.

Idrissa Gueye is the kind of player who tends to pass under the radar - he rarely scores goals or assists them - but Everton's clean sheet - their fourth in five games - owed a lot to his defensive diligence. In total, there were nine tackles - more than twice as many as anyone else on the pitch.
