Am I the only one that would be slightly happy with this signing? Rumours are that it would be a pay as you play deal.... then surely it's a win win? Give him the ball in the box and 9 times out of 10 he'll put it in the back of the net. Personally I think it's worth the gamble for one year and IF (I know it's a very big if) he stays fit he could be a good impact player and chip in with a couple of goals. Just think he'd be a decent player on a free transfer.

where the fuck has this idea that he has spent more time injured than playing come from? like i pointed out 80 games in 4 years isn't bad seein as he was 17 when that started..also had the likes of cahill and arteta ahead of him..cos he had a season where he was injured a bit everyone is jumpin on the injured bandwagon...fellaini misses half a season 2 years in a row..don't see anyone callin him injury prone

80 appearances in 4 years for a 17-21 year old is hardly spending his whole career in the physio room...he's had one recurring injury after bein rushed back too soon..unbelievable how some people speak about him

Motd highlights make him look like a world beater. Imo he is useful, but not amazing. He'd start for us and add something we've been missing, but that said, he still has a lot to work on.

It has always been who you play for, rather than how you play. One reason I've always struggled to support the nation is this piss poor policy.

I never really got the fuss about McGeady... I dont watch much Scottish footy but I have seen him a few times for ROI and while he is a decent player, he seems like your general winger that can beat a man but fuck up the final ball 9 times out of 10 without really contributing anything else to the team. £1-2mil maybe but that much for a player of his ability (or lack of it) is crazy talk.

Gets annoying how they continue to say Everton punch above their weight. The top 3 teams all have a former Everton player in their starting eleven (Lescott, Rooney, Arteta). We still have Fellaini, Osman, Baines, Heitinga, and Jags who wouldn't look out of place in any of those teams. We also have 3 ex-united players and 2 of the most promising youth players in the league. Although it's a vague assessment, at least this one acknowledges us as challenging for top 6, unlike some others who every year knock us below Liverpool, Spurs, and sometimes even Villa.
The key player is a bit silly as it's a team sport and not many build their game around one player. Even Arsenal who were banded as a one-man team looked more lost without Arteta than if RVP missed a game. Likewise Man U without Vidic really struggled, or Liverpool without Lucas (although they do centre round Gerrard so are a one man team in that sense, with Fulham/Dempsey being the only other I'd consider). They should say best player, or do a more in-depth analyse of key attributes.

I was a bit skeptical about this Naismith kid when we finally got him, and while you can't read too much into pre season games, and the Athens defense appears questionable, quite an impressive start to his Toffees career. Still hoping for a Hibbert 'moment' though.

Some one will get the sack for that. Man City are pretty strict when it comes to stuff like this.

Aha, I might. I just think certain factors won't go in our favour.
 
Personally I think our defence will get chopped and changed throughout the whole season between our 4 lads, leading to a lack cohesion.
 
I don't Jellyman will be as prolific as he was when he first joined. I say this because;
* Teams will double up on him knowing of his past threat.
* He came in at a time when we had no striking options and he fed off the new found confidence.
* January additions always seem to do well in the first few months and then drop off a little, over a full season.
* He had a point to prove, so probably put in an extra 10/20%.
 
I don't think our youngsters will be as effective, as we're all hoping they will be. Barkley looks to have taken a step back. Can Rodwell stay fit? Will Duffy start some games? Will Junior not get sent off?
 
I personally think they league will be tighter than ever this year. We'll see 3 points being the difference between a near 'Europa' finish and Relegation fodder.
 
And with Mass Expectation again, will the boys be able to handle the pressure? I'm going for a Felli player of the season though. That's my silver lining.

Im not a hater, but I dont think he represents good value for money. That being said your description of him is how I rate 90% of all strikers, and 98% of all wingers. Having pace, and having pace while dribbling are not the same thing.
