Finn balor Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Been on a few websites trying to see if there were any rumours of who we might be after. A few people are saying Owen could be coming on a loan deal. I think we are creating some good chances recently that are going begging, I would take him.
Finn balor Posted January 31, 2010 Author Report Posted January 31, 2010 Yeah we need a striker. Like Moyes has said, everybody is saying were getting all our players back but these players can only play 20-30 mins at the moment and we have a busy period coming up.

SimonButtle Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 this has to be a complete NO-NO, but i have a gut-wrenching feeling it will happen, and Moyes is going have a hell of alot of explaining to do if it does.

MikeO Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 How do these two quotes work together? "The 31-year-old helped the club win a record 19th league title...." "Owen, who started just one Premier League game for United this season..."
Hafnia Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 How do these two quotes work together? "The 31-year-old helped the club win a record 19th league title...." "Owen, who started just one Premier League game for United this season..." If you are on twitter, follow him and piers morgan. Morgan trash talks him something rotten. His classic was something along the lines of "off out celebrating united league win in new york - I had nothing to do with it, but neither did michael owen" Owen was clearly rattled big time - even to the point of stating he didn't get two medals for scoring two goals in the fa cup so was happy to take his league medal.

carlmc25 Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 I'm probably in the minority but I'd like to see him here. He was an Everton fan growing up and I think it would be quite fitting for him to finish his career here and hopefully show he's still got something to offer. The obvious worry is he's going to be injured all the time and just cost us loads in wages but he seems a thoroughly decent guy, would possibly help shift some shirts and if he gets a chance he normally finishes it (unlike Beckford). I think he'd be worth the gamble, he used to be one of the best strikers in the world.

He didn't want to know a couple of years back, we have better and can get better.
Blue 250 Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 He's injury prone, and that will not improve with age.Put the ball on a plate for him 10 yards out and he may well score, so would James Vaughan.

Romey 1878 Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 We've already got one ageing striker made of glass, that's enough for me.
SimonButtle Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 We've already got one ageing striker made of glass, that's enough for me. this story comes round time and time again, i fail to see what benefits Moyes thinks we would get from having Owen at the club.

Obviously he doesn't because we haven't signed him. And I very much doubt we've ever been in for him. Edited November 15, 2011 by Romey 1878

Hafnia Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 Unless Owen is capable of covering 12km per match, jump like a stag, hold up the ball then he is wasted in the same way any other striker is under moyes.
