pete0 got a reaction from Matt in Summer 2012 transfers - confirmed only please!
Too late imo, Wenger should have bought years ago. He could have spent big but has chose to go for bargains or youngsters. They could have bought Jags but wouldnt stump up the extra £2 mil and instead squandered it on fodder Mertesacker and Squillaci. With a better cb and goalkeeper in earlier, they would have won another trophy by now. Before last season the only double figure (£million) players have been Reyes, Hleb, Nasri, Arshavin and Vermaelen, and when major players are sold they don't buy a ready made replacement, instead buying a youth who will hopefully fill the void in the future. The teams challenging for major trophies would buy both. Last season Wenger bucked up his transfer policies and brought in Arteta as a straight replacement for Fabregas and it payed off big time, but they hadn't replaced Nasri and only had 2 good centre backs so the league was always going to be out of reach last season. They've had a bit of bad luck that has hindered them as well with RVP and Eduardo injuries preventing a league challenge a couple of seasons ago, and a few less decisions than the other title contenders. But ultimately Wenger's transfer policy has to take the blame.

They'll only be able to play his football when they have his players. There's no way they can play his way with the shite he's been given.

It was written by an American so you can't expect anything else.

Too much competition, Lampard, Hazard, Marin, Mata, Miereles, Malouda, and now Oscar (don't know much on him myself) as well. He would have been fighting for a space in the bench with Piazon, Kakuta, and McEachran. Beneyoun is still there also. Everton need an attacking player, wouldn't mind loaning any of them.

Yeah i know. I was in the year below him at school, i thought he had been released though. Think my english teacher told me once he was doing teacher training as a back up career, but this could be a great alternative for him if true, wish him well

It wont end up being THAT large of a pay cut, if any. He will make up the differance because he will hit all of those appearance bonuses he wouldnt have had at Spurs. If we get 2-3 good seasons out of him it will be worth it.
Agreed
I could never agree with this statement. Not only was Arteta one of the finest mids in the world, which Peanuts was not , is not, nor ever will be, but Like Romey said we could not have afforded 2 players at those wages. I would imagine the only reason we can now is that our wage bill is down from what it was even last term.
All in all I hope Stevie P succeeds because if he plays well the whole team plays well, and what I care most about is winning.

No, he really shouldn't. But Arteta shouldn't have been on that sort of money in the first place because we couldn't afford it, and we sure as shit couldn't afford to have two players on that sort of money.

I agree so much with this review, could be applied to the majority of RnB, has been mostly bollocks since Lisa left-eye Lopes died.

Theres laws that protect people like Barton who've been wound up, i.e the defence of provocation. So if was bad abuse a court can look at it as a defence to the charge or minimise his sentence were he charged. Doesn't make beating the shit outta someone right but shows that beating the shit outta someone for no reason is worse than what Joey did. Its shit that he gets targetted like that though. No one likes it when people rubbish their family.

Hi there,
Everton fan from Canada. Been an Everton fan since 2002. Sad to say the initial reason for following them was because of Shrek (Rooney)... At the time I was young enough to be caught up in all the hype of the teenage wonder that was Rooney and had never had a favourite team. But even when he left for Man U the blue virus had spread and there was no turning back. Once you go blue you never... huh? Ha ha
Kind of odd because I've never even been to Goodison let alone Liverpool... One day though. As much as I'd love to see a new stadium I'd love for Goodsion to remain for my own selfish reason for visitng it one day.
Anyway, looking forward to all the toffee talk to come! COYB!

Fa charging him for improper conduct because of the choc ice tweet. I think Suarez' punishment should be the minimum in this case, as Rio doesn't have a language/culture defence to stand on.

Pienaar made a massive difference to our play last season, and improved us in the final third with his assists and goals. Pete O you just dont like him which is your perogative. I think the majority of blues who go the game and even those who dont will be pleased to have him back.

Three stop might have been worth a go if the third stop had been ten laps from the end (Vettel's pace at the end proved that) but Jenson's was on lap 46 I think.....23 laps left to go so completely pointless. He'd just cruised up behind Vettel and they obviously though that he wouldn't be able to pass him, which he probably wouldn't have been able to, but he should have just followed him around for a few laps.
Serious cock~up.
