The agony and the ecstasy of being a Blue distilled into a single game, I nearly took my lad's head off after that mercurial Baines strike. Then he misses a pen.
Ah well we'd never have won the thing anyway, probably best to get the disappointment out of the way early.

No one is saying that you don't need skilled players....
The reality is this.... get the best 11 players in the world playing at 80% vs a team of average joes playing at 100% and you will see them mentally crumble.
Why is it too much to expect a team of players regardless of their talent to put in a shift???
Everyone who played with Roy Keane said he was particularly great because he got an extra 10% out of every player.... which effectively meant that it felt like the team had one extra man.  He knew when one player wasn't doing it and he addressed it..... it prevented anyone else thinking they could do the same.
Talent means nothing without work or application.

There are countless punch-ups outside pubs/clubs all over the country every Friday/Saturday night, probably all with pretty much the same intent. In a tiny minority of these someone is seriously hurt or killed; when that happens the offender is punished with GBH or manslaughter and will be shipped off to prison. Just saying that if an incident outside a pub is judged on outcome rather than intent why shouldn't the same apply on a sports-field?

Difference is you said it was discussed (suggesting a discussion) in the House of Commons prior to the referendum - and not logged as a major problem (again suggesting a discussion) and you said you'd provide evidence of this.
The "evidence" you provided consisted of a thirty second clip of Hammond mentioning it; that's quite a significant difference.

Maybe I'm looking thru blue-tinted glasses, but I agree. It's all speculation from the outside, but it appears the current management has greatly improved the quality inside the dressing room even more than quality on the pitch. I'm guessing a more defined "culture" and a consistent set of expectations from a management team that is unified is creating an environment the players have bought in to. I think that starts with getting good players, who are "good eggs"  focused on doing  the collective job the manager has set forth, and their role to achieve it - not their individual goals that may or may not align. And those on the fence either buy in, or find a different situation for themselves.
The "toxic" players you mentioned have all been removed from the locker room, or will be, in one way or another - when Brands finds the best return for the club. I think the change in Morgan is a perfect example. So is the Gana situation - where he seemed excited for opportunity that was even better than the one he had. And when it failed to materialize, instead of sulking his way the rest of the term with little to actually play for, he returned and played some of the best football of his career.
Didn't really hear public chirping about transfers or playing time from players or agents who's roles weren't as big as expected - Davies, Morgan, Walcott, Lookman, Tosen, Baines lost his job, and just signed on for another year to work, train, and watch Digne play etc. I don't think Vlasic was happy with his role, so he's been moved, and I think the same may happen with Henry with the right offer (I'm sure he frustrated with the permit too)
And Gomes...bought in the system (not to mention the charity work in the community) and went from being lost in the woods, to a star EPL CM just entering his prime with many interested suitors. We could have been a one year stepping stone for his career, and that really wouldn't have been unfair. But it appears he wanted to hitch his star to THIS manager, THIS club and play his role in management's vision. It appears, at least, Zouma may be similar.
When you add all that up and look at how we closed the year...it doesn't look like unconnected dots, it looks like a plan and a growing culture within the squad. Blue-tinted glasses and all!

I don't know about being hanged but they should be held to account. My wife's mobility element of PIP (DLA replacement) was stopped last year after being in place for more than fifteen years and there's certainly been no improvement in her mobility, just deterioration. The "living" component was dropped from middle to lower rate at the same time; upshot is we're around £250 a month worse off; took four months after assessment for decision to be given when we were told it'd be thirty days. Did mandatory reconsideration form with the CAB but the woman there said 95% certain it'd be refused and we'd have to go to tribunal, and sure enough she was right. Wait for a tribunal currently (where most decisions are overturned by independent panel)? About a year. We're "lucky" that we don't have to rely on benefits to live because my mum was good enough to die and leave us a decent wedge a couple of years back, most people don't have that luxury, not at all surprised people are killing themselves; for example someone in my wife's position wouldn't be able to navigate the appeals process (probably not even the application process) but because she has me we can take it as far as it needs to go. The bastards are knowingly refusing people money they've lived on for decades and are entitled to in the hope they'll accept the verdict and go die somewhere.
OK, maybe they should be hanged on reflection.

Notice Schneiderlin has been moaned about even though he was played into danger. Yet Gana under no pressure nearly gave them an assist without mention.

....but I hold onto the (probably misguided) hope that the British public realise what a daft decision they made in 2016 so there won't be enough stupid, stubborn (and idealistic) people willing to make the same mistake again.

All those calling for a second referendum just assume it will be Remain this time.  What will they do if it is Leave again?
In the national interest MPs and the government should just revoke article 50.  This is not a question for the people (take this thread as an example).

Bloke swims the length of the English Channel (Land's End to Dover, 348 miles) in support of cleaning up the oceans, and is met by Michael Gove.

Can't wait for the end of this whole Transfer Saga...
I personally hope he is gone by the end of it because the fee we are being offered is ridiculously high for an unproven player with an awful attitude...
Lets face it if we can recover 80% of Richarlison's fee for a player who (lets get this straight) has done nothing in this league and has't been a first team player under 4 managers now we are having RB's pants down... He has potential but he is another player who for me will never meet it because his attitude is dire.
Is he better than what we've got? No...
Is he willing to put the work in? No...
    Is he worth 25-30m? No...

I am not doing cartwheels about the results, I agree it is too early to gauge how we will do this season...
I never expected a massive season due to all of the changes in and around the club, I wanted to see a change in the style of football we play and a change in mentality both in the dressing room and among the fans, and what from I've seen so far this season it is evident that there has been a massive shift in the club...
I personally put this down to Brands, This guy knows what he is doing and even if the Silva era fails I have faith that Brands will find a suitable replacement, we finally have a hierarchy with someone with a real footballing brain at the top of it...
This is the time for the club to move forward and I think that we as fans have a massive part to play by getting on board and supporting this project which is finally starting to bare some fruit!

Indeed, would't have it any other way.
Just preparing little man for his years of the Everton roller-coaster, although he wont have to suffer Walter Smith as manager or "Agent Johnson", and hopefully there will be many, many highs.

Roughly the same for me, except my Dad didn't really like football but was was nominally a Tranmere fan, but I am a proper glory supporter because I became a fan during the '84 cup final at the age of 4. Went well for a couple of years too......

The injury was bad and shit for him but he’s just not good enough. It’s that simple.
