nogs got a reaction from Matt in Marco Silva
There was something said in 5 Live on Saturday that "the rumour was" we'd go for an interim manager again if Silva is sacked. Personally I think that's madness, I'd rather give Silva til the end of the season.
Regardless, we've won three of our last 5 games. No manager will get sacked on the back of that.

I admit I’d lost my temper after the Burnley game but otherwise I’m still trying to be patient with him. Reasons 1&3 are principal for me, option 2 less so. I think he is trying to play the long game and trying to be patient with instilling his beliefs, not throwing kids into fray (hence sticking with the more experienced players even though they’ve been poor) and instead letting them take their time, etc.
It’s the beginning of his second season. There was so much to correct from the previous 3-5 years, especially the 12 months prior to his arrival, it was never going to be undone and built on in 18months.
I suspect we’ll see Kean regularly after Christmas, like he did with DCL last year. I think Iwobi would’ve been starting more in the middle if Bernard hadn’t been injured, but with all of the injuries mounting up he’s having to plug holes with whomever can play that role even remotely and we just need to be as patient as ever until the squad gets settled again.
I didn’t want him here but I’m not in a rush to get rid of him. He showed end of last season that he can turn things around and play some great football. Patience, as well as consistency (as much as we can with players dropping like flies) are absolutely key.

When we buy as well as Leicester have done we can start expecting that. Painful as it is for Evertonians to accept, they have better players than us as well as a better manager

Blames the players when things go wrong, makes it all about him when things go right... And some of you lot want Mourinho! 😅

nogs got a reaction from Matt in Tom Davies
He's going to have a huge amount of responsibility on his shoulders linking with the forward line if Silva goes with Schneiderlin and Delph, which seems likely. He deserves a run of games and I'll be fuming if Silva drops him to revert to the Delph-Schneiderlin-Sigurdsson abomination.

nogs got a reaction from Matt in Richarlison
But not finishing them, which is what everyone is complaining about isn't it?
I was fuming at his performance on Sunday. The way he falls over at every touch from a CB is either disgraceful play acting or evidence that he just cannot handle the physical side of the game every CF has to endure. To be fair to him, he did win a blatant foul off Sanchez, which Atkinson probably didn't give coz of how many times he'd been on the floor beforehand. But then why wasn't he booked for playacting?
I agree with Shukes. If a player on another side behaved the way he did Evertonians would want them lynching. Keep him on the wing where he gets much less of the close attention he clearly can't handle, and where imo he's more of a threat anyway.

nogs got a reaction from Bailey in Man of the Match v Tottenham
Went for Mina in the end but it was a toss up between him an Davies. Tom is starting to look like the player people have been saying he could become since he was a kid, ran the midfield today. But Mina was instrumental in making Spurs look utterly toothless in attack, and the fact he played the first of the two passes that led to the goal just edged it for me.

nogs got a reaction from Bailey in Fabian Delph
I'd still rather see us play 4-3-3 long term. And that means no 'number 10'. So Iwobi either has to learn to play deeper or suck it up and play wide in a front 3, which he looked like he was sulking about on Sunday.

I'm even more angry about VAR now after the explanations. How is a ball hitting a player's hand above his head not a clear and obvious error yet Keane making innocuous contact with an opponent's foot last week was? And Where's the Richarlison trip? Sanchez knew he'd caught him, his reaction was 100% guilty, yet that's not even being discussed? The system is a fucking shambles, only the PL could make the miserable state of officiating in this sport worse by introducing technology.

Fair enough it’s all about opinions and all that but I really don’t get the mentality of anyone who would rather we finish 7th than win a domestic cup and in so doing continue our long, long barren run without a trophy
Personally I’m desperate for us to win every game we play. I even get pissed off when we lose a preseason friendly . If you are not in it to win it what’s the fucking point?

Tiny margins. We are indeed in a nasty place in the league but at the same time we're only three points behind ManU in 7th. I get your logic but to make the decision on whether we're bottom/top half while the league remains is crazy as it is is not a good base to work from I don't think.

No idea why people are slagging off Silva. DCL scores with first touch, bar a dreadful penalty decision we win the game. Get a fucking grip there's no accounting for bad luck and worse decision making. We got shafted by two awful decisions last week too.

We're not Leicester though. About time Everton fans woke up and realised what we are squad wise. Some talented players, yes, but absolutely threadbare as a squad. Just look at the CB situation today. Look what happened when Gomes got injured. If that penalty hadn't been given nobody would be complaining. Expecting us to smash anyone, especially away from home, 8s just unrealistic

nogs got a reaction from Romey 1878 in Brighton (Away) Saturday October 26th
Right starting XI, does he see Delph as our 4th CB? I hope not. With only 3 'senior' CBs in the squad he should be taking every chance to integrate one of the youngsters in the first team. We could easily end up needing them.

nogs reacted to London Blue in Tom Davies
I am a Davies fan and thought he played well, what I liked is his fast, accurate passing that always looked to get us going forward. He had one of the best records for both passes made and accuracy in the match. Much better than Morgan who takes an eternity to pass the ball, which usually involves a turn on the ball, a look around, then a pass back to a defender. His partnership with Gomes looks good with both taking turns getting forward while the other covered.
Definitely deserves a run in the side.

I'm not a fan of him at all but I think he's played pretty well. Movement from the front four has been excellent, passing has been good too until the final third when some of the decision making has been poor.
