Yes we are making defensive mistakes but perhaps that wouldn't happen so much with Ross in the side (i.e. not giving the ball away, they have to drop deeper etc).

McCarthy has 2 things missing from his game that would make him a superstar.

Not a captain for me. He can't take the game to the opposition.

I fear that we are no better than last year (arguably worse with no Dela) and that other trams have moved on.
 
At least Dela was a player that could do something out of nothing. What options do we have now if we are struggling to break a stubborn defence? Possibly Atsu although I've no idea what he is like?
 
Or what happens if Lukau gets injured?
 
I think Besic will be great but I don't think he's going to add goals. Hopefully he will push up our pace of play though.
 
I'm going 7th unless we sign some flair before the window closes.
 
On the upside, Barkley, Stones, McCarthy and Lukaku all have another year of experience under their belts which should make them better.

£28m for Rom but I still say Martinez is our best signing.

I love that the club have down to earth players and not big time w&nkers like Toure.
 
I want to grow the club organically and bring through the ranks.
 
There is a real culture of hard work and respect at Everton and I love it. I frickin hate most footballers and don't want to become another cesspit like City or Chelsea even if it means not winning anything.
 
We are liked by nearly every neutral and there is good reason for that.
 
Its a grand old team to play for.

Just on the Nais comments. I've been his biggest critic but I think we look so much threatening when he's on the pitch (and played in the right position).
 
He's becoming one of my favourite players actually

Debut season. 20 years old. 6 goals and number of man of the match performance against the best teams in the country.

Granted I'm feeling a little frustrated at the moment because I was getting used to us winning every game.
 
The fact is we are beyond where we were last year. We are playing football that we've dreamed about.
 
All this against a brand new manager, lots of new faces, lots of "kids" in the team.
 
I think we've done brilliantly well this season. Yes its not enough but I have great optimism for the future.

We miss that special striker up front yes. Even if Lukaku doesn't reach the heights of Suarez he's still the best striker we've had at the club in years. £20m would be a bargain. What's Suarez worth £80-100m? Its just unrealistic to expect that we are going to go out and buy one of those. Was Suarez the player he is now when they first signed him. No.
 
Be positive. Support your team. The future is bright but its not instant overnight success and getting on people's back doesn't do anyone any good.

I'd start with Naismith up top with Miralles. Super Kev was isolated for large parts of the game until Nais came on.

It was really quiet today? The missus asked why no one was singing!
 
Not a great game. For me one of our biggest problems was the lack of movement. If they have 11 men behind the ball then you need to mod to create space.
 
Thought Distin did his and Jags job today. I'm not a bit of a downer with Jags at the moment but I think he's been poor.
 
Baines offered more as the game went on
 
Naismith did well and we looked much better when we had 2 up front
 
I read some of the criticism of McCarthy but I thought he played well. He made a lot of tackles and had a lot of the ball. It's just a shame he doesn't drive forward a bit more as he'd be top draw if he added that to his game
 
It was first time at GP in a while. Desperately need a new ground although I love the old girl!
 
Barry is starting to look leggy and I'm not convinced I want to spend fortunes on his wages next year

Leon neat and tidy without offering much. He has the shitt*st shot I think of any player in world football including me and I'm absolutely pony.
 
Thought Stones did OK. You can see he has some class and will be a great central defender.
 
McGeady had some excellent touches but quickly tired. He's one of those small old fashioned tricky wingers like Pat Nevin/Limpar
 
Frickin love being at Gp regardless of the pissing rain and average football!!
