Is that real? Are we pretty much safe, 8 points clear, with 4 games to go? Did we just send Klopp off with the best goodbye? Did we keep a clean sheet against them and not get fucked by VAR?

I really don't know what to make of all that, I need to go lie down...

This has been my most popular post in 15 years which includes announcing my daughter 10 years ago

Fairs fair.... we had near 4 months of dross. The forum got red hot when people were looking at extending his contract.... let's not pretend it's been a knee jerk reaction. We've had a good week.

im not convinced - these players as i have said repeatedly can deliver more.  He said home truths were delivered on both sides - I certainly think this was the case.

but - his expectation is to deliver survival and that was the highlight of an otherwise dreary season.

We did have months of dross. It's been a weird season; we had 10 games of UEFA level form and 15 of relegation form. But the goal for this season was improvement and stability. Dunno about the stability, but I still put most of that on the players. But 41 points is the minimum we should be on, a mid table performance after the previous 2 years is a massive achievement. Not been achieved in a pretty way, it's awful to watch for the most part. But we wanted safety before the last game of the season, we wanted an improvement on our league position and he's delivered that in spite of the worst the club has been in since Johnson days.

It's been a fucking ride but with 4 games remaining, that's progress right? Keeping in mind we should be tied with Palace (same W/D/L and GD) in 14th and sitting comfortably.

Correction, we should be on 41 points, I forgot about the 2nd charge

I think we've slipped into the Everton multiverse mate. Back on Planet Earth, year 2024 we've just been dicked by a 98th minute Darwin Nunez penalty.

Don't fucking do that to me, the stream died with 8 mins to go :shakingfist:

Possibly but he's unknown to them. Hardwork and graft is the order of the day, let the likes of McNeil pick up scraps.

To be fair, he's unknown to us too. I have no expectations of the lad at this point. From what little we've seen, I wouldn't put it past him to get a red card.

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, he's a right spunk goblin. Didn't rate him at all with Bournemouth, didn't rate him with Sheffield United and was surprised that he got the level up to Arsenal.

He's viral and considered a good 'keeper because he turns to the crowd and does a little fist pump when he takes a goal kick. All the kids on LAD Bible love it, as for actually being a goalkeeper he's painfully average - not surprised in the slightest that Arteta dropped him sharpish and brought in Raya.

Genuinely wouldn't have him here, and I'm well aware we're shit too.

Glad you sat on the fence there mate...

                         Pickford

                Tarks,    Bran,   Myko

    Harrison      Gana     Garner       McNeil

                    Gomes    Doucoure

                                 DCL

To get Gomes in the side I would be tempted to go with back 3/5 for this game. Think we need a soild two behind him. Maybe Onana in middle instead of Garner, and put him as right wingback (or even Young).  I just think need something solid out of possession and a slightly different formation to mix things up. Gomes can be other body in the middle but could just open things up on the counter with slightly more intelligent balls.

As this game is a bit of free hit as not expecting a result, its a game where you can try something different.

I can see a 451 and packing the midfield hoping to counter.

Exactly what we don't need but also absolutely need. I genuinely have no idea how I'd cope with a Qatari owner, I've had a hard time with Moshiri throwing money around and linked with dodgy characters as it is. I boycotted the World Cup in Russia and Qatar, how can I then support the business? Maybe I'll have to make that distinction in my head, split the club and the business.
