The "also ran" cup, the European trophy for teams not good enough to qualify for the second level of European competition, "primarily contested by teams from the lower ranked UEFA member associations" Formed to give those teams, "a chance of progressing beyond their customary elimination from the CL and EL".

Not the most prestigious pot to win really.

Remind me how many Mickey mouse cups we've won...

    :P

A win is a win, just like a trophy is a trophy. Some are indeed more prestigious than others but when we've got none, we cant really criticise.

They've conceded 70 goals this season and have only picked up 4 more points than us despite having a much better squad.

He can fuck right off and so can anyone suggesting him to come back.

But you know it's coming right? New owner wanting to engage with the fans, thinks Moyes is a "fans favourite" and what better way leave Goodison yadda yadda yadda

It's always risky, though. For example, take a look at Joby Aviation. Do you think drone taxis will be as big as Uber in a decade's time, or will the company go bust?

Like most start ups it'll go bust but still get bought out just for the research. I don't see drone taxis in 10 years, probably 20-30 since we apparently can't deal with self driving cars yet.

maybe we could do with a 'players we should try and bring in topic'.  a few years ago, towards the end of the season was lots of discussions on who we should target from the relegated teams, but having a few years of still being in the relegation going to the final week, we have thought better of doing that of late!!

the good old day of not worrying about relegation.

Feel free to create topic then :)

Personal Coach. One man band. Work straight with clients, no one else to deal with. Say what I want, be who I am, market as I want...only work with people I want. Luckily (maybe not luck?), all my clients are great people who want to have a laugh while they graft and improve their overall lifestyle.

However.....I'm all too aware that if I want to follow through on my plans, I'll need to deal with some level of 'corporate' so and so's at some point.

But, in all honesty, I'm done with selling my soul to please a few when there's a massive world of opportunity for you being you.

That sounds amazing. I'll come deal with the corporate stuff for ya

Well obviously the Brits run a better company than the Yanks 😂

The story you posted said at last Über make a profit not a resounding success story having read it, I feel for the investors who may have been waiting for 15 years for a dividend on their money with no guarantee they will get one and no guarantee Uber make a profit next year based on past performances.
That reminds me I have a big lump invested with Fisher Investments who are an American company with over 90% of their investments in the USA, it just happens to coincide with a Zoom call I have on Wednesday with one of the Directors in the UK, I think I will be quizzing him on whether I’m invested in Uber in any form.

Having a fraction of the land size is a much more simple thing to deal with to be fair

If you think creating a $144b global company whilst constantly running a loss isn't a success story, I don't know what to say.

But I’m assuming they are not Republican’s because of Trump I assume they were Republican’s before and will remain so after Trump.  I vote Labour not because of Starmer or any leader of the party before him, I vote Labour because of the core values of the Labour Party which I believe in. So I can understand your family being Republican’s before being Trump supporters. That woman who the Tories put forward as Mayor of London is an ardent Trump supporter the same as Truss is a couple of idiots who are infatuated with a mongrel for me that defines their politics as lacking morality.

Some are some aren't. Trump is just a symptom rather than being the root cause. If it wasn't him it'd be some other nutter like De Santis

The Uk business of Uber which I have been looking at as made profit over many years.

Ok but the parent company hasn't. In any case the point you were making was the bottom line is the most important thing. I'm saying it's not based on that 1 of many examples where companies habitually lose money before either they turn the corner and finally achieve their vision or go bust.

That isn’t correct Matt Uber have made profits in other years in the last 10 years, what cost them was they had to restructure the business due to employment laws.

No, I am correct. They've not posted a profit for 15 years, but their market value has always increased. Brand and vision have carried them to this point. I would've thought, and from what I've seen from entrepreneurs, is that businesses often run at a loss but are backed on their plan.
