Dalziel Kane got a reaction from Kev627 in Chelsea - Away Game - And a farewell to Moyes
It's not going to make much difference now.

Just for the record, Sundays defeat was Moyes 99th away loss as Everton manager since arriving from Preston North End in 2002

No league wins at Stamford Bridge in 22 games (since October 1994) under David Moyes, Walter Smith, Kendall. Joe Royle was the last manager to achieve this at the aforementioned date.

David Moyes lost 161 games in total as team manager - the very same as Harry Catterick believe it or not.

Seven league defeats in total for the season, the fewest losses in a season since 1969/70 - and the league championship.

It has been the best home season for points and games won since 1989/90. (also a sixth place finish)

sounds like we have a critic

No sense in argument here. Ok fair enough there was some humor involved on your part, but I found nothing amusing about it, and most themselves got angry or took issue. They (along with myself) thought (albeit breifly) there was something to be had there and a genuine news story, only for it to be a false alarm. Nonsense thread, ill-advised thread, retrospectively not a good idea thread, or a fun at the time and one of two may have found it amusing and not all others thread, the bottom line is, this is a dead issue now.

Dalziel Kane got a reaction from Sibdane in Martinez confirmed as new manager
It still raises a smirk when you remember the panic some were in - and must be now - that when Moyes finally vacates (as he has) the club will be in free-fall and suffer a relegation or very near miss.

Ok, the stabilizers may be off, now Moyes has gone (or will go) and there's a bit more freedom to roam than the usual restrictions when the Scot finally clears his desk, and it may a be a little rocky at first with a new name in charge, but it's ridiculous to even envisage the club will be relegated now safety-first Davie has taken employment elsewhere. Just saying no panic, that's all

But as you rightly said, it's all just talk at the moment. We still await who will takeover from Moyes - and somebody, somewhere, will be upset with the choice you can be sure - but the proper time to maybe address this is when the actual individual has been disclosed and then we can let loose

And Moyes is the best manager in the league ?

They haven't won much, so have to claim for something..

I never did like that asinine statement. 11 men involved on the day and you'd think the only people who made an impression or got the 'victory' were Peters and Hurst. What about everyone else involved who played their part, including our own Ray Wilson ?

It's not all that well documented, but West Ham were not only responsible for England winning World Cup Gold in '66, but were also involved in quite a few other feats and achievements. Let's see.

Mexico 1970 - Brazil were in fact threatened by the Krays before the final event and told they had a big bet on and if they didn't put on a performance then Pele would be kidnapped and held hostage and dipped in a vat of jellied-eels in a secret location near Bethnel Green

Spain 1982 - Paolo Rossi was snatched before the final and threatened with being strapped to a chair and forced to watch every episode of Eastenders that had ever been recorded

Mexico 1986 - Maradona was in fact a big fan and could often be seen down the Mile End road singing 'knees up mother brown' with other celebrated east end figures such as 'Mad Frankie Fraser' and Nick Berry. He did it for them

Italy 1990 - The winning German side were in fact abducted before the game and threatened with a big fuck-off multi-colored feather duster in a secret address somewhere near Plaistow by Alf Garnett and some other undisclosed names, although 'Chas and Dave' may, or may not, have been involved

USA 94 - Robert Baggio was told before the game to miss the final kick or risk a beating by Ray Winstone. (Barbara Windsor wasn't available)

France 1998 - Zinedine Zidane was promised a lifetimes supply of jellied-eels and pie and mash, and a signed autograph from 'Dirty Den' if he put on a performance.

Japan and Korea 2002 - Brazil were in fact great fans of everything East London, from The Krays, to Walthamstow Greyhound stadium, and they put on a special display

Germany 2006 - France were threatened before the final by Eric Bristow and told to lose, or face being in attendance at every Darts tournament from now until the end of mankind, and a years supply of 'East 17' records, for good measure

South Africa 2010 - West Ham were appalled to find not one of the Spanish side that year were true cockneys or born within the sounds of Bow Bells, and so were threatened with being held captive at a secret location near Shoreditch and forced to listen to Spandau Ballet records (they were so much like The Krays), and watch Green Street and sample out of date jellied-eels

Brazil 2014 - we don't know who the winners will be, or do we, in that information has been leaked, that an undisclosed world side has been threatened by some shadowy snide characters, and told to win, or be found hanging upside down ( a la The Long Good Friday) in a pie and mash factory near Plaistow and pelted with fruit by the entire cast of Eastenders, or as a more benevolent gesture, told to win, and do it for the good of the club, and find some snide bank-notes in a dumpster just off Barking Road.

running late today, but here at least were just some examples.

Sorry but both players were a major disappointment after we got them both from Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively. Johnson was a star striker at Selhurst Park and was instrumental in helping the South Londoners to the premier league in 2003/04 after it looked at one point, that relegation seemed more likely, but apart from one or two standout moments including that 3 - 0 win over the excellent shite at Goodison Park in 2006, Johnson never really came up to expectations, despite a very promising start. Overall, a disappointment for many. And Beattie, almost the very same, in that he was a great center forward at Southampton but once he arrived here never really hit it off despite, as with Johnson, some moments of recognition, that were few and far between. I think the most memorable time he experienced as an Everton player was when Moyes took the players off on a surprise trip to Florida during a season a few years ago after a notable victory. Bottom line is, both players, while impressive at their previous clubs, just couldn't make the mark at Everton.

I didn't get the full result but been one or two mentions of the Germans with a victory. Should be indifferent but maybe a little upset, would have prefered Madrid to make the final (and be eventual winners)

Appears now first all German final in the history of the competition. Some will be upset and there could be demonstrations, but most people will merely see it as a decent final tie and German soccer really has come to the fore once again in recent years. They should be one of the favorites for the tournament in Brazil next year.

Already got black out drapes but they're installed in a spare room as my wife doesn't like the idea of having them up in the main bedroom. But that's for mornings, and even then it's getting light much earlier now and can only hope I'm asleep when the sun rises (soon be getting light at 3am damn it, fuck all that), but it's the evenings that are the biggest concern without question. A dislike for garlic and sharp objects and having rapid hair growth is only a coincidence, but this is no laughing matter. Not everyone enjoys daylight hours. Only one more hour before nightfall so that's another day out the way. I almost died when they did their miserable fucking around with damn times again a few weeks ago but it won't be long now before it works in my favor once again.

Not transfer rumors damn it. Anything about fucking Belgium.

Jean Claude Van Damme, Audrey Hepburn, Hercule Poirot, Plastic Bertrand, some horses taking a shit in a town plaza in Bruges, the list is endless.

Damn well probaby not even Belgian. About as much substance there as your claim to being a true supporter of Everton Football Club. Did yourself no favors again during the last match day event.

To prevent this degenerating into some free for all, say again, this player in question could be a worthwhile purchase or someone to look into, but trying to keep calm now

I'm not going to criticize you, regardless of position, not on events like this. These are serious matters.

I was just answering to the Hillsborough debate, and reading some above (asinine) replies, and what you have here, has nothing to do with what occured in Sheffield. Two completely different incidents. They occured at the same time of year, what can be done ? There's one thread for one incident and respects, and one for another. This is for the 2,200 people who lost their lives in the biggest recognized nautical tragedy you will find. Nothing more. Other later events really shouldn't be brought into it, or aren't even relevant.

Of course it wasn't until 1985 that they found the wreckage, two miles below the surface, some 400 miles off Newfoundland Canada, so can imagine what a painstaking and difficult endeavor it must have been, all those years, to have eventually come across the sunken ship, and even now, there's so much more to discover about an incident that occured over a century ago.

May as well, while the opportunity presents itself, have a swipe at the ill-advised decision to make an awful piece of crap movie about it, with a fabricated and nauseating love story angle, when the original 1950s release, should have been the one, and only, true film release.

Appears as though Moyes is making some excuses in the above link. 'We have an ageing team, we need new players etc' (to enable a european place for next season). That's fair enough, but you can't escape the fact, the opportunities have been there this year to already have been in so much better a position. The inability to keep leads until the very end, giving away goals at pivotal stages, players underperforming or lacking interest, Moyes himself making bizarre tactical changes, again, and failing to beat or see off opposition sides we really should be taking maximum points from, so Moyes has to build himself up a little defense. Once more, and I don't know how many times it is now, I wish him well, but enough is enough for many. Really would like him to move on this close season and find employment elsewhere. Don't ask to elaborate, been over it a thousand times as it is.
