I keep thinking back to, I think it was a friendly in pre-season just after we got him, I think it was his first match for us, and thinking we’ve done a decent bit of business here.
since then he’s done nothing more than disappoint.

He did make mistakes though, he shut up shop and let the shite attack us for more than half of the game.
I thought we'd lose anyway but did he play a part in that loss today? You betcha.
Like you said though, the best thing to do is to park it and move on thought because a loss was what was coming today anyway.
Yeah, literally 60 seconds before the handball, I thought their pressure is too high and we’re not gonna be able to stay this deep and soak this up without conceding. Then of course Keano - reliable is as reliable does!

I’m not gonna jump on the Dyche made mistakes bandwagon
I feel that it was the decisions made on the pitch that had a greater effect on the outcome of the match.
Either way, I think the healthy thing to do is just put this one behind us and move on to the next one.

The thing you hear about Young is that he’s an experienced player. Diving in on a yellow like he did is not what I expect from an experienced player. It’s awful play from him as he should know better.
As soon as that happened I pretty much stopped watching. Of course they’re gonna get a penalty at some point, of course they’re gonna have decisions go their way. Cos that’s how it goes, an experienced player would know that.
The result sucks and the manner of the result stinks.
But despite that, we did ok. We’re a team that’s on the way back up; that’s all I can take from this game.
It wasn’t a decisive win on their part - even though they had every kind of help to make it so. A soft pen and a late counter, hardly convincing.

To just goes to show how the media works.
His attitude is completely the correct one. That old prayer comes to mind “grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”
But they have to spin it some way that implies wrongdoing, incompetency or some other contemptible behaviour.
The article could just have easily been titled “Dyche Takes Sensible Stance in Matters Out of His Control.”
But who’s gonna retweet that?

But you’re not gonna buy a striker who’s guaranteed to bang in 15-20 goals in the Premier League for 25 million.
Considering our present financial situation, we’ve got in one guy who is probably one for the future and another guy who can come in as back up for DCL.
I think overall that Thelwell has tried to play his hand sensibly here. Sure we would like to have better quality, but we are where we are. At the same time we are still better off than we were 12 months ago with Maupay. So there is improvement.

I don’t think he was in any way a panic buy. I think it was more a case of “how much can we scrape together for a striker and who is available and fits a profile in that price range.”
We desperately needed back up for DCL and now we have it. Do I think he’ll be a good signing? I don’t know. I don’t think he has bags of quality, but I think he’ll put in a shift when he plays and provide a presence up front. If that translates into goals and assists, then it’ll be a good signing.
But just having the option to rest DCL or bring on another option is also a huge bonus.

Beto for me was an overpriced panic signing because of DCL situation I’ll be very surprised if he gets much playing time.
Danjuma is a much better footballer.Panic signing? We were linked with him last September (2022), then apparently had a bid rejected in January, then several bids rejected in this summer. Doesn’t seem to me that it was a panic buy, rather that we’ve been tracking him for some time.

Was half expecting that to be honest. Stats don’t lie. We are not the kind of team that wins 3 on the bounce. We’re not there yet.
But in the plus side, we didn’t let our heads go down, we were trying, albeit ineffectively, to get the equaliser right till the end.
Not the best performance, but I think overall we are better than where we were not so long ago.
-
The big question is have we got it in us to get three wins in the bounce?

For me, Gray had a tendency to hold up play too often. He'd stand nonchalantly on the ball waiting for something to happen. In the meantime, it gave the other team chance to get back and get organised.
Danjuma seems to be much more keen to run into the box and try to get a shot off.

He’s definitely earned some brownie points in the last two games.
We have a tendency to punt a few too many hopeful and ill-aimed balls forward, but maybe we can put that down to the team being in transition.
Obviously, if we keep this up, the energy and the creating (and putting away) chances then we’ll have a much better season than we have done recently.
I think we are still going to need to be lucky with injuries, or the lack thereof.
We’ve had two good performances and two good results. Now it’s the consistency over the next couple of games that I’ll be looking for.
Edit: I’ll add this as well. Although, I hope not to find us in this situation, I’ll be interested to see how we react to going behind. Have we got the mental strength to maintain belief in that situation.

Very satisfactory match. A bit scruffy at the end, but perhaps to be expected, playing away and them pushing for the equaliser at the end. Lots of positives to take from that match though. More of the same please.

Not bad that Dyche-ball today.

It was from a corner, not sure how far you wanna go back, but yes you could argue that.

Gonna be a nervous late 5 minutes (injury time) me thinks

Missing the second half, had to go back to work. What'd he do this time?
Unfortunate ricochet, but as @badaids said, he's a magnet to stuff like that.

Michael Keane. Whoda thunk it!

Wouldn't be a stupid idea to bring Beto and McNeil on for DCL and Harrison for the last twenty to save some legs.

Great save Pickford!

I think he’s been improving steadily. Not wildly brilliant then terrible, but steady overall improvement. I think that’s indicates his base level is getting better which can only be a good thing.
I think there is potentially a very good player in there, but he seems to lack self belief. I’ve seen a few camera shots of him after he does something good (especially going forward) and he’s smiling like as if he’s saying “Wow, yeah, I can actually do this. I am good enough!”
Which funnily enough seems to conform with my impression that his mistakes are usually down to a kind of nervous panicking.
Thats just my read; as although my Polish is pretty good, the Ukrainian alphabet is completely different.
