I suppose the real reason why it's taking so long is cos Blue Bill has misplaced his dictionary of superlative adjectives to sentimentally reminisce and remind all our dumb fans of all the good times we've had under his stewardship.

The most frustrating thing about all this is that we are again dillydallying while the transfer window is open. Uncertainty about the board, uncertainty about new investment/ownership means we'll end up dragging our feet again and for sure we'll be scraping the barrel for dregs on deadline day and probably won't have a striker lined up after selling Demarai Gray and DCL snapping his handbag strap in a preseason friendly.

Had similar feelings yesterday. Felt confident, thinking we can do this, we've got it in the bag. Then it dawned on me that we are prime culprits for a huge shock. Truth is by the end of the day, we may well be looking at Championship football next year. It's still a real possibility. Whatever happens it's gonna be an emotional day!

After all the hype about giving him time to get his body right before bring him back and he's injured again. Have to say it's really disappointing. Decent player, but just doesn't seem to have a body that is reliable enough. Wouldn't be that bothered, but with a crucial match that could seal our fate for the next few years coming up, and the thought that all our hopes hangs on whether Maupay can break his duck... Well I just come out in a cold sweat. Can't say I'm overly excited about the prospect of Gray upfront either. Too often when he receives the ball, he puts his foot on it, stands there waiting for the other team to get back, wiggles his leg around the ball and then lazily passes backwards.
