I'm not. It's football.   Treat it for what it is. A game where the team you love is doing shit.
Got dickheads going to games slashing people's faces... scarred for life. The result will be a faded memory in a few years for many.

Sad day for Everton but also a sad day for officialdom, does the cup have VAR or does it not? You can't introduce it in some games but not in others, if you enter a competition all should play by the same rules surely.

Leicester got lucky. We gifted them a goal, lets not carried away FFS.
He has tried 5 at the back, probably due to the schedule and injuries to but it hasnt worked. His preferred formation is clearly 4-2-3-1.
Davies was coming on to go like for like with Gomes because Gomes was flagging and probably carrying a knock and he had just been booked. We werent as in control as we were in the first half but we were the most likely to score at that point so it was a case of being patient and keep probing. When we conceded that plan changed and he probably did what most people on here wanted by taking off a midfielder and bringing on an attacker. Personally I would have stuck with Davies and switched DCL and Walcott for Tosun and Bernard, bringing Niasse into the piece later in the game (if he was on the bench).
We havent looked the same team, I agree. It was a big loss which took a lot out of the players and since then the games have come thick and fast with no time to regroup. Changing formations clearly hasnt helped but we dont have a back up for Gana so I can see why he went that way, even if I dont agree with it.
The defence has looked solid IMO. They created almost no chances at 0-0 today, Brighton didnt do much, Burnley had a couple but again, they certainly arent leaky.
Some fans just need to get a grip of themselves a little, stop panicking and take a deep breath. Talk of selling Pickford, not trying to sign Gomes is God knows what else you come up with next is just madness.

It’s not the fact that Gana is a ball winner - nor is it that Spurs were missing their ball winners in Dier/Wanyama. It’s the fact that Gueye is a better fit than Davies. I won’t say better player as Davies has many attributes ‘better’ than Gueye but, for our current set-up, I’d much rather have Gueye playing alongside Gomes than Davies. Spurs have much better options in central midfield than us. Sissoko and Winks don’t need a label; they’re just very good footballers.

Games are fluid; it might have been a tackle/interception he made several minutes earlier so the ball wasn't where it ended up.

Not been in the forum for months. Noticed the title of this thread.
Please don't tell me after the performances Gana has put in this season the same old argument rages on? (Although I accept in the few games before he got injured, I noticed his passing was going more wayward).
Really missed him today. In his true role, he's vital for us. Just needs to polish up the consistency on his play at pace passing.

If we rushed in to something and made a complete hash of it, we would all be whinging "typical Everton"
Id rather we get it right, we won't get another chance for many years.

    Gutted lads!!! Unbelievable end.
I said to my lad at about 75mins 'this games gonna be won by a daft mistake by one or the other'. But that was another level.
    Hard to stomach.
BUT...really proud of how we played. Really pleased about our progress as this season has gone on. So the bigger picture looks much better than this one result. The direction we are going in is really positive. And that's all proper Evertonians want at this moment.
Haven't posted for ages (international breaks proper destroy my interest!)...hope you are all ok? (Apart from this result).

iverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Sport, on whether he had seen anything like the winning goal: "Not often, it happens from time to time but not very often. Thankfully because it is better for the heart if football games are decided earlier.
"First of all I have to apologise for my run. I apologised immediately after to Marco Silva, I didn't want to be disrespectful.
"My respect to Everton could not be bigger after that game. We knew how strong they were but today they were outstandingly strong and difficult with the way they played.
"The goal was lucky of course but our idea was clear: we wanted to win until the last second. We wanted to show that by bringing strikers on. It was a long and open game. I think we deserved the three points."

If one player is allowed to make a fuck up and be forgiven for it that player is Pickford, he has won many points for us in the past and will in the future, I’m more concerned for him and hope it doesn’t stay with him for too long.

Was prepared for a 0-0 draw at the end there. Thought it was a tough game, Palace very well organised and made it very tough. Zaha was a constant thorn in our side. Level above Palace that lad.
The ref had a mare I thought. From the first whistle to the last.
But well made up with the win! Especially as I'd resigned it to a draw.
Some nice performances out there but we are still not firing on all cylinders, I reckon. And still have it in us to kick ourselves in the bollocks.
Really looking forward to seeing Silva develop this team. Maybe in the 2nd half if the season it will flow a bit smoother but even this is 100 times better than last season.

Not happy to go out of this Cup.
We have no Euro footy so we should be going full on for this piece of silverware.
Gutted. We should be treating this Cup with more priority.

Wouldn't be surprised if he did. He had an obligation to buy the shares in 3 stages, after that it's his to do with however he wants. Get rid of potential opposing voices, get some money back whilst bringing in a wealthy partner and friend? Sounds like a good plan to me.
