markjazzbassist
That's my hometown (and now current town) team Mike. I went to a ton of Indians games as a kid in the 90's. My dad and I watched the whole postseason together this year. We stayed up till 1am watching that heartbreaking loss. Been to the World Series 3 times in my life, 94 97 and now 2016. I hope we win it next year

Cornish Steve
"A BBC Radio 5 live survey found 8% of football fans would stop watching their team if they signed a gay player." What?! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/37779847 We've actually had a small time player who subsequently came out (Hitzlsperger); would anyone seriously have stopped being an Evertonian if we'd known while he was here? In previous generation, it was black players. That's human nature for you. But, in general, we are making progress. It takes time to overcome longstanding prejudice. It takes time to overcome longstanding prejudice. But even then did people actually stop supporting their club? I know there was abuse from the home fans at some clubs but I don't remember there being talk of people actually changing allegiance because of black players. Clyde Best at West Ham was the first black player I was conscious of incidentally. Sadly Everton have nothing to boast about on this subject, won't go into detail but we were one of the slowest to integrate.
Palfy
I remember watching Clive Best play against Swindon in the early seventies a mountain of a man you wouldn't want to be hit by him

MikeO
Right I don't normally talk about the thirteen man version of the game with the egg-shaped ball but this is a strange game today is it not? England v Oz in the last group game of the four nations; if England win the final is a repeat of the same game but if Oz win they play NZ in the final. Surely Australia are better off losing today to give themselves an easier route to the trophy?
