If you'd have paid £8m for Carrol, Downing and Henderson (Who imo, are no better than good players) then i would have said, "some good buys there son". However paying that much for them is a joke man. I'm envious of your spending, just not on those players. £35m for a striker could buy you a consistant international starter, who has a proven goal record and still young enough to hit their prime. Instead you got an generally unproven, injury prone thug who can find the net on occasions? £20m for a player too young to judge on the big stage, impressed against the smaller teams, disappeared in the bigger ones. Had an England debut to forget and hasn't (personally) shown me anything to warrant the price tag.
