duncanmckenzieismagic
I think that Howard is the best man to have in the first team at the moment, for me the goalkeepers that I would like to see us choose from realistically are:Joe Hart (Manchester City) Scott Carson (WBA) Ross Turnbull (Middlesbrough) Nash is fine for the moment, he's not been needed so far. I just wish that Wessels would have stayed. He was a quality goalkeeper that would have really gave Tim a run for the first-team place. Good to see that he enjoyed his time here After his performance against Oldham I couldnt wait to see the back of him!
CraccerC
i think howard is a decent keeper, not up there with the best in the league though but a relatively good prem keeper. i've heard we're looking at coventry's keeper westwood and hennessey from wolves has been mentioned in the past as well. i think they might cost a bit much when we've already got nash as back up but i think both would be good additions. hennessey i think will be top drawer in a few years. Yeah i agree Craccer Hennessey is a good keeper and more then likely will make it into a good Prem team in the near future, Scott Carson is a steaming pile of horse shite

MikeO
Portsmouth have offered a new contract to midfielder Sean Davis, who is being targeted by Everton and Bolton. (Daily Mirror)
Bill
Highly unlikely that he will come here after we backheeled his move several seasons ago. For those who dont know the full story......... The clubs had agreed a fee and Davis had said he would sign for us, had agreed terms and was at the club to sign a contract, unfortunatly he had injured himself the previous week and EFC pulled the plug on the deal because he couldnt take the Medical, That might have been OK had we not gone on to sign Van D Meyde who came here with a hamstring injury and was signed without having a medical. Davis was gutted that we never gave him the benefit. Interesting to see the different tally of games played by both players in the last three and a half/four seasons. I know which player i would have been happier with.
Mac
I know you have an axe to grind with VDM Bill, but you are spot on with the davis comment. A big rep is a poor substitute for consistancy and a relatively injury free career. ATB Mac

Everton_Worshiper
A lot of rumours of Sean Davis again, nothing concrete on the web but "apparently" coming to us on a free end of the season. Has rejected his latest contract offer.
jamiemaher85
Would be an ok addition for numbers, but that is all. He would only ever make the bench. But has prem experience. Doesn't really set your heart racing does it!

Doesn't really set your heart racing does it! 100 games : 2 goals Dosen't really make you want to snap him up does it? Portsmouth rejected a bid in the region of £3 million for Davis from Bolton Wanderers. Former Pompey manager Tony Adams was keen to secure the player to a new contract with his present deal due to run until the summer of 2009. I would have taken the money for him because he dosen't seem to be that much of a key player. Might be okay to make the numbers up. Squad +1 probably. Althought I was on Wikipedia and this guy was on the list, I hope to christ Moyes dosen't want to snap this fella up. Sean Davis was an Australian pornographic actor (porn star) who appeared in several pornographic movies in the 1990s. He performed exclusively in the gay "top" role. With the talk of Rod Fanni we could have quite a team!

dark
^ I'd agree. At least Davis has proved that he can play in the Premiership whereas Segundo Castillo has had a few shakey game. I would like us to keep him until the end of the transfer window so that we can play him in some pre-season friendlies. If he dosen't shine in those then I would say let him go. He's not been the best of players for Everton and his only real solid contribution was that goal against Standard Liege. Jacobsen should get another year IMO, shown some moments that would warrant a contract. Better than Tony Hibbert when on top form. And I'm looking at Davis' stats. He's only scored 16 goals in his career.
EFC-Paul
He would be a good squad player he is no fancy dan nor does he bag loads of goals but the fella likes to get stuck in and puts in a fair bit of graft.

Guest efctaxi
Here are just some of the names Everton are supposed to be trying to get onboard . Macienne and Ledley are already tipped to be coming to Everton (especially Ledley) and I think that they could well buy part of the summer buys that we have. Owen would be nice to have but I'm unsure whether he will, I think regardless of whether Newcastle stay up they will not keep hold of him so who knows ... maybe we will? Aquilani, I don't know that much about him Really should watch more Champions League/Serie A football.
Wall Writer
Don't argee with some of the people shouting about Owen to be honest. I think he's become a little too injury prone, and if we're gonna have an injury prone striker on our books, I'd prefer Saha. One name on that list that I would like to see here is Lorik Cana, I remember his name being banded around and from his Youtube video he looks awesome. I think he would instil pure fear into opposing teams. One that I think is a really possibility, (almost probability), is Joe Ledley, I've got a strong feeling we're gonna have a good go at getting him, and as long as Arsenal or City don't come in and offer shitloads and sweep him away from under our noses, he just may well be wear blue come August. Crouch, I wouldn't want, just because I don't want us reverting back to long ball hoofs. I much prefer the way we play now - getting the ball down and passing it forward. Also, I think we'll make a decent signing of a player not on that list, an unheard-of. Moyesy will have had his scouts out and will surprise us with a name from nowhere, who will turn into an Everton scoring legend. (Mark my words!!! dark
I think that Owen would be great at Everton should he sign. With the World Cup around the corner its inevitable that he's going to start banging goals in. He injury prone yes, but so is Louis Saha and he's a lot better than him. With Yakubu and Owen we would be on the verge of something special in the goal area. I say snap him up while there is no other interest. Ledley will come to Everton like Wallwriter said, other teams could come in for him but I believe that it's already wrapped up (to a point) we are in the driving seat with him and am looking foreward to seeing him play with the lads next season - would definatly improve the Goodison game. Does anyone know if were in for Messi yet
c1982
I'd like fletcher (£4m ish), ledley (£3.5m ish), naughton (£2m ish up-front if they don't go up, the rest on appearances) and mancienne (on-loan) as I believe these are all within budget and realistic and importantly for me they're all british. This wouldn't break the bank (hopefully) so there could still be the 'big' signing wherever moyes see's neccesary, (I'd like a real tough def mid - I like the sound of Cana!) Add to this a couple of shrewd bosman's and we're pushing on!
Blue4Ever
I would much rather get 2 class players and a few loans than 6 shit championship players who arnt good enough to start, havent seen enough of Ledley to make a comment on him but I would much rather we looked abroad for some flair and class, look at Steve Bruce, Palacios, Zaki and Valencia were all bought for a few million, all of them would start for us. Its these type of players we should be looking at imo.
dark
Zaki is a pile o' shite mate. Bad attitude and most of his goals for Wigan were from the penalty spot. Not that good to be honest. I agree that we should maybe look abroad to get some stars but I have full faith in Moyes, he is a class manager and always does well at getting players from the Championship and making them into brilliance. Ledley for me will be just like Lescott and Cahill. And I agree with the talk about Fletcher, would be good to see that pull off.

Does anyone know if were in for Messi yet Owen is an expensive has been and is too much of a gamble for me. His main asset was his pace when he used to play off the defenders shoulder, but I think he has lost a yard or two now and unless he can change his game he isnt going to get anywhere near the England squad ever again so the fact its a World Cup season wont come in to it. He has bounced back in the past when he has been written off but the times Ive seen him this season he has looked hopleless he doesnt even seem to get himself in to any goal scoring positions anymore
