Just shows how comfortable the west has got that we can choose to turn down medicines that benefit 95% of the population and have eradicated deadly diseases. Vaccines aren't about you, they're about protecting the majority, assuming you're healthy enough.

I'm not surprised that opinion over science is gathering momentum. Apparently there are people under 25 who think Hitler has been misrepresented and that Putin is currently being misrepresented. Wonder how many Wakefield will be responsible for in the end, it's likely in the millions already.

In general they are about protecting the majority but the covid vaccine is not. It protects no one but yourself because you still get covid with it, it just lessens the symptoms for you, and you can still pass it on to other people.

Which is why anyone that doesn't/didn't want the covid vaccine should feel completely comfortable with that decision and not be made to feel guilty about.

It reduced the chances of contraction for the most part, it limited the chances to spread, so it absolutely was for everyone. Like pretty much every vaccine. Didn't help everyone unfortunately but vaccines are not created, pushed out and injected for individual protection, it's always the majority in mind. Cash too, always that as well.

Because of the job I do I was lucky enough to see how the vaccines worked.

Every single day I had to do analysis relating to absence across a large workspace.  Not long after vaccine roll outs begun there was another huge spike  that seemingly got alarmingly bigger by the day.... all of a sudden they started dropping rapidly and it became something we just live with now.

I've had covid 3 times, vaccines don't stop you getting it - they teach your body how to fight it.

I see people on social media gloating that they never took it and have "pure blood" and people who took it were sheep.  Then as soon as someone dies and a detailed post mortem isn't put out immediately they start putting syringe pictures up.  These are the type of people who go on holiday and look at weather reports for back home to try and make themselves feel right about going abroad.

Do you know what the fucked up thing is? During the height of the pandemic unvaccinated me was less of a risk to the public than the vaccinated people, because I had to take a test showing I was negative before I could do anything whereas the vaccinated could go where they wanted and could have spread it because they won't have known whether they were positive or negative.

I'm absolutely fine with not having it because that was looking after myself, which I think I was entitled to do. I have a condition and thought through all the pros and cons of having a new vaccine that had to be rushed out and not knowing how it would effect me.

Nothing to do with any conspiracy theories for me.

I did get it around Christmas (pretty sure I caught it at Goodison, so yet another reason for this season being a shitter ) and my body fought it ok thankfully.

I'm not one of those selfish ones that didn't get vaccinated and then didn't give a shit about anyone else. I took tests whenever I was required when it all started and then when I got covid, even though it was no longer required and my symptoms were gone, I took tests until I actually tested negative again and didn't socialise with people until then.

I was deliberately not quoting you to start with:lol:

Rushed out I won't argue against, it did all seem a little too quick to find a solution as quick as we did and get it all out on time. Or the powers that be do actually have some ideas as what to do when a true pandemic hits.

But I believe that had it not been sent out with even 75% effectiveness, that 1 in 4 people that could contract rather than a 95% , replicate and transmit (often without showing symptoms) is dramatically reduced.

I offer an apology to those who didn't get it but took/take precautions. Most at the time weren't, treated it as an inconvenience and it was an emotional time, not just because of COVID for me. So my apologies there. But anyone telling me it's to link you with the 5g masts will not be suffered

Mate, I wasn't criticising that it was rushed out tbh. It was completely necessary that they had to do that. Those lockdowns were brutal (for a multitude of reasons), and while I do think those lockdowns were abused by the powers that be in terms of how hard they were, some form of lockdown had to happen and the vaccine allowed the lockdowns to come to an end.

It all feels really surreal to think about it now.

The furthest my conspiracy theory goes is that I believe it was from a lab.

we all know our bodies but the instantaneous loss of smell was weird, even now I get moments where I can smell cigarettes when no one is around. I sat watching tv and my heart rate went up to 130 bpm 2 weeks after I caught it.

very strange disease
