I should clarify that watching Everton play is how my son chose to spend the morning hours (Colorado time) before his wedding later that day.

We where not battered or dominated in this game, so as tough as any defeat is to take - I don't think it was a doom and gloom performance by any means. We created chances and a foot either way or a match fit Rondon and could have just as easily picked up some points.

 

I think Villa were always the team who had the upper-hand but it certainly was still fairly even.

The problem is that so was the Burnley game when we were only short of Dom. I would argue the same point in our other league games too. There have been just small moments (Soton defender switching off just after half time letting Richie in to score, the unnecessary pull on Dom for the penalty against Leeds especially when the same thing not being given against Doucoure against Burnley) that have changed games.

We haven't been dominant for long spells in any games but we also haven't been up against it for too long either. Ironically the game we struggled the most was against Huddersfield!
