That Squawka comparison matrix tool is excellent if you're a stat head like myself.

I wouldn’t bothering bringing in another RB. Give Kenny some regular games there before Coleman hopefully returns before Christmas.
Regarding a new CB, I’d only want to bring in a top class one, so I imagine it wouldn’t be ideal to buy one until the end of the season. Holgate could always use the experience of playing there every now and then, plus Funes Mori will be returning from injury at some stage anyway.

If it wasn’t for Rooneys goals we’d be bottom of the table- he’s not been great but he’s at least scoring.

It’s like I’ve imagined the chances (they may be few and far between, but they actually were a reality) we’ve blown during games and I’ve thought “Lukaku would’ve buried that”.

It's him or Gylfi as the number 10 for me. Rooney is a disaster up top and Gylfi is a disaster out wide. No room for both in the team.

Said it in the cup game thread, but Rooney in behind DCL. Gives us a good balance of pace up front, while having someone in and around the area that can actually finish.
I’m sick of trying to play Siggy into form when we just need to start picking up some points in the league.

Just because he claims to be something it doesn't mean he is. His teams play nothing like Barca. In big games we sit back and try to counter, that's not Barca.
We didn't play Tika Taka under Martinez either, we weren't that good! He just wanted us to be patient and create a good chance rather than be impatient and rush missing the chance.
Man City have massively improved in the last 2 years. Pellegrinis sides weren't very good and that showed in Europe. They are scoring for fun and aren't conceding too many chances either, which is probably the biggest surprise. The fact that he has brought De Bruyne deep along with Silva in a central position is something no manager has done before, so it's a pretty big change from the manager. I'm not sure how you can't give him credit for that?
Barca did become more direct with Neymar but from what I have seen they have gone back to Pep's style and they have looked really good again.
I watched Valencia at the weekend and they played with the same principle. Even Heynkes triple winning Bayern team applied a lot of the same principles. It's not about dominating the ball for the sake of dominating the ball, it's about waiting for that good chance and taking that chance rather than rushing a half a chance. It's not about slowly popping the ball around, it should be quick passing, high tempo and lots of movement otherwise it doesn't work and I think that is what is misunderstood.

Koeman couldnt be further from a Barca style manager if he tried IMO. He is more in the Mourinho mould.
Plus being a Barca bitch isnt working too badly for Pep at the moment, especially when you consider they were one of the first teams to make a success of the counter press, which has been adapted by a lot of German and other Spanish managers since.
Very much so, definitely says the right things. I really hope he can deliver.

Not sure if I want Rooney or DCL uptop. DCL needs to start finishin chances but his running and hold up is valuable. Rooney needs to stay uptop if he we play him there.
I'd be happy again with Gana or Morgan playing DCM, I though Morgan had a better game against Lyon - having wingers allowed him to play diagonals but Gana is a bit more industrial. Whichever plays will have to keep Sanchez quite.
Arsenal are there for the taking and we need a win to climb to 13th.

Moshiris work at this club shouldn't just be rated by his cheque book in transfers.
Think of the USM deal. Think about the stadium. There's more ways for him to be influential than simply opening his cheque book for transfers.

Front three ideally but he's got the best credentials for the role atm at least until Bolasie is back

Love how when the team are playing badly that players who aren't involved (for whatever reason) become better than they actually are and are seen as some sort of saviour.
Bolasie is quick, but he falls over his own feet when he has a go at that stupid ball roll under his foot every time he gets the ball instead of just driving at the defender. Then he'll often just run into said defender. Then if he actually managed to beat his man he'd shank cross into the stand or over every fucker and end up at the other side of the pitch. Obviously you'd get some decent stuff from him but he really isn't going to transform our fortunes.
He's not the only player that gets this treatment. Davies, despite being as shite as anyone in the majority of his appearances, should be in every game.
Besic (and I'm a big fan of his) is getting touted every single game as a problem solver for us, but he's been absolutely terrible when he has played.
Lookman should be playing but he doesn't do what we need in this team - he doesn't stay wide, and he doesn't run with the ball.
Barkley would have us driving through the middle despite the fact that he slows us down because he wants three extra touches, to pivot with the ball a couple of times, then pass backwards.
Deulofeu (taking out the fact we couldn't have stopped him leaving) and Mirallas would make massive differences despite the pair of them being as inconsistent as you'll find, and one of them being a massive dick head.
Im just waiting for the "we shouldn't have sold Cleverley" shouts after his goal yesterday.

Really? Because most of the time this season he’s done the square root of fuck all. Utterly anonymous. Klaassen hasn’t even been playing recently.
For the record, I’m not saying that any of the players I mentioned couldn’t do well for us, only that the way people are frothing at the mouth that they aren’t playing, or playing as much, is a bit ridiculous.

It felt like our away form under Koeman for all of last season was shite though.
And I’d sure take winning the games we’re supposed to be winning at the moment then what we are doing now

Honestly, to me it’s not even the biggest issue within the team, like it’s being made out to be. It’s picking another slow central mid around them like Siggy, Rooney or Klaasen (I don’t remember many people complaining about the combo of Schneiderlein, Gana and Davies during the second half of last season).
That and just the complete lack of pace and width in the team. Like playing Rooney, Klaasen and Siggy as three no. 10s begins a striker, or pushing Davies out wide. Until last weekend, with Vlasic starting, I can’t remember the last time he started somebody approaching a natural wide player in an XI (Looking back, last weekend was literally the first time he’d done it in the prem). Vlasic isn’t even what you’d call and out an out winger, he’s got more similarities to Osman and Pienaar when playing wide.
Coleman’s out injured and Baines is too old to provide the sort of width he used to, so we desperately need to just pick a couple of natural wide players in the team and see how they go.

Think that should be a nail in Koeman's coffin. The lad has done nothing to warrant a new contract, and more worryingly our manager thinks he doing a good job. No wonder his school boy flaws aren't being addressed.

I swerve that too to be honest! Of the big name Australian beers the only one I drink regularly is VB (Victoria Bitter), which you might see occasionally in the U.K. It's known as being a bogan beer over here though, so I really disclose that information

We were saying something similar about building a team around the likes of Stones, McCarthy, Barkley and Lukaku a few years ago and look how that turned out
In all honesty I am excited about the future. The amount we're investing in the youth team alone is dwarfing our total transfer budgets of yesteryear.
