Cornish Steve got a reaction from barryj in Arouna Kone
I don't understand either. Kone is a good player, and he has a track record of scoring goals. It takes time to blend with a new team, and he's had few opportunities to play. Even when he did, his stats were better than most other players, no matter what the comments here. He may have missed a couple of good chances, but he created those chances in the first place. I wouldn't wish injury on anyone and am disappointed at those who are laughing at him for missing the season. Very poor form, I must say.
Aroune Kone: I for one wish you a successful operation and speedy recovery.

Because that's when I learned that Suarez could miss the derby game.
Silly me. I thought that Suarez missing the derby game might be relevant to a thread about the derby game.

Cornish Steve reacted to Hafnia in Arouna Kone
Don't understand the negativity here. We signed a decent forward for the same money we received for Vic. Avoiding injury due to an over extention of the knee isn't an attribute to be criticised - like the Gibson injury, a knee injury is a freak occurance and can happen to anyone.
We have barely seen him due to getting Lukaku and despite the one game where he missed a few he has been bright and direct. Good player, don't write him off.

Cornish Steve got a reaction from Mirallas in Women
I suspect the negative comments in this thread represent a deep-seated resentment to the fact that I happen to be married to the most beautiful and wonderful woman in the world and have been for over 32 years. Sorry guys, but she's not available. I didn't mean to cause such upset, but some things can't be helped.

Give him time. He's a good player with a strong track record. It's hardly his fault that he suffered an injury. I'm sure we'd all prefer that he take the time needed to recover fully. Personally, I pass along my best wishes to him and hope to see him back soon.

Cornish Steve got a reaction from Sibdane in Everton could theoretically benefit from UEFA rule change
I agree completely with the argument of consistency. It takes a stronger team to win 20 of 38 games in the EPL than to finish runner-up after potentially playing four or five lower league or even non-league teams.
Incidentally, for the same reason, I don't like the play-offs for promotion at the end of the year. Consistency over the long haul is more important than being on-form for just a couple of games.

So I balanced it up by voting for Osman. Both made vital contributions.

Cornish Steve reacted to Sideliner in Arouna Kone
if I was Kone ,the way some Everton fans treat him , I would ask to be released in January -
no player deserves getting ridiculed and trashed despite not having played 90 min in the PL -
go somewhere else where you get a fair chance and some appreciation -
I for one won't blame Kone after the hostile reception by many Everton fans -
I really feel sorry for the man - I have never seen that before at any club ashamed to say

He is a real strategist. If we struggle in the first half, he seems to be able to fix problems during the break. His use of subs can be inspired. This is what a manager should do, not rant and rave from the sidelines as some do.

Good decision imo. Not that it will affect us as we'll be qualifying for the CL by then

Cornish Steve got a reaction from Lowensda in New ticketing commercial deal with StubHub
Yes - it's the same principle at work. In this case, someone took a risk spending a lot of money on season tickets. Some weeks, when they can't attend matches, they can't recoup what they spent. Other weeks, when there's a derby for example, they can make more money. Why not? They invested a significant sum: Why shouldn't they reap some reward? No one's forcing others to pay the higher price. They do so willingly.

Haf - do you have to mention SAF in every thread? This one is supposed to be about David Moyes!

Why? It's the free market at work. If demand exceeds supply, then prices will rise. So be it.

I don't see why it's greedy - if someone is willing to pay. These folks stumped up for season tickets. Those now looking for tickets could have chosen to do the same.
