Coleman has been a big surprise, did we really think he'd be ripping into opponents penanlty areas scoring goals and at the same time improving as a defender.surely a fantastic piece of business by Everton.

Gerry played a massive part in all three goals tonight. That chest off to Barkley for the first was absolutely perfect. Hard to believe that there's even more to come from him because he still had lots he could've improved on.

I agree with MC teams sussed us out months ago , especially after the derby debacle, and so the fullbacks aren't getting forward so there is no need for 2 defensive midfielders. It's far too negative for games like Cardiff at home . We desperately need a plan B even the subs are predictable and are usually like for like

What's positive about getting thumped 4-0 at Anfield? 4-1 at the Emirites? I'm yet to see any real emotion. The only thing I see is scripted answers from a textbook. It's as though he's being interviewed for a job. I find his press conferences boring and predictable. But that's just me. I actually can't watch them anymore they are the same every week.

Id start Barkley deeper and alongside McCarthy but both ahead of Barry allowing the pair of them to break forward.

We are 11 points behind Arsenal with a game in hand. If we win that extra game (vs. Palace), then we are 8 points behind. If we win tomorrow and Arsenal (away to Chelsea) lose, then we are 5 points behind. If we win our remaining home game against Arsenal, then we are just 2 points behind. With nine other games to play, I'd say that a CL spot remains a real possibility.

He doesn't even say, "phenomenal" or "incredible" once as far as I can remember.....goes to show that he's just doing a "comedy" Spanish accent and has done zero research, an observational comedian who doesn't observe?

Let me explain. I started following Everton when they got Tim Howard because I am an American and follow the US national team. Many people here and elsewhere state that Everton is a large club, but before I got into the history and read up on the club my initial impressions were that it was a tiny club with an aging stadium and were a middle table team that were just happy to be in the prem. After research I realize most of this is wrong but the point is that unless you're from England or Liverpool more specifically, most of the world doesn't think Everton when they think football.
 
Now here's where MC is right I believe. If we do well in Europa and then Make Champs in 3 years I think THEN the big sponsors will come. The benefit of sponsoring a football club is your brand is marketed everywhere a match takes place (pre season included) and everywhere the kits are bought. With no cups and no Europe our bargaining power is little to nill, our exposure is only in England and Liverpool and some would argue we are eclipsed even in our teams own city. Win stuff and that all changes. We play bigger pre season games in bigger countries, we play in Europe with the best, trophies prove were the best in England. Sponsors will line up then, and we can grind them for as much as we want from the deals.

I agree Elstone is not the right guy to be conducting such deals. He's yet to get a good one.
 
However, I look at Everton as a brand we aren't global enough. Therefore massive sponsorship deals are going to be hard to broker. If we had consistent Champions league football, more television appearances and big named players we'd be able to compete at the top end of financial deals. Until we move forward in this manner we are unlikely to get the massive deals other teams get and this all comes down to finances of the board.
 
Everton need to become a bigger brand as a whole on the pitch and off it.
