Gwlad reacted to Paddock in Wayne Rooney
Mate the publicity he's brought alone makes it worth while- our names everywhere, City are about to pay 50 mil for Walker from Tottenham and Sky are running Rooneys goal yesterday as main headline over it.
It's about raising the profile of the club, making us more attractive to investors, sponsors, fans globally and most importantly players- Rooney puts us in a completely different league now. Yes he kissed the badge, he was a young lad and made mistakes but one things for sure- he never forgot us. Look at Fowler, Mcmannum, Carrager, Owen they were all blues every one of them and they are all Kopites now. Rooneys kids have season tickets at Everton and are mad Everton fans. He left for his career but he always had us in his heart. Move on and enjoy it.

I don't blame Lukaku for wanting to improve his position, anybody on this forum would want to do the same, be it a top class player or a lowly paid lorry driver, if you were approached by Eddie Stobart and he offered you a brand new wagon to drive, and double your wages you couldn't turn it down. The problem with Lukaku is, from day one he was using us and only stayed last year because nobody came in for him. He has continually slagged our club off, telling us we are only a small club and not good enough for him, he says he needs a bigger club to improve his limited talents.
Well you've now got it so lets see if you can reach the standard that you think you can reach.
I appreciate he scored a lot of goals for us, but being the type of person he is I will not miss him, neither will the club.
Let's move away from this thread now.

Or that we attract players in the twilight of their careers?

Gwlad reacted to Paddock in Mindless Atrocities
It's drummed into them from an early age- they are brain washed. They do things like this for exposure.
I hate the world we live in- it ripped me in half watching my 2 boys walking in to school this morning. I wanted to keep them home with me. Stupid I know but that's how I felt.

Gwlad reacted to Romey 1878 in Ross Barkley
Koeman has said today he isn't confident Barkley will sign the contract, and that we're looking for players in his position so even if he stays there will be added competition.
I'm having the same feeling about Ross that I had about Stones - I'd prefer him to stay but he is very replaceable and will not be missed if he does choose to leave.

I'm fine with him going, would prefer us to keep a player of his quality, but I know we'll get top dollar and I trust Koeman and Walsh to improve us regardless.
Of course I want an Everton player to win over a Spurs or Arsenal player because I support Everton. If there's an international game which doesn't involve England or a home nation the determining factor on who I want to win is whoever's got an Everton player playing for them.
I don't think anyone is making a major fuss over him bar yourself. Most want him to stay but aren't going to lose sleep when he enevitably leaves...

he'd be an idiot not to haf. the manager said sign by sunday or you're off, you don't say "i'll take my time" you contact your agent and say are we signing or not, if not re-negotiate, or if we're leaving sit tight and shut up. FFS it's not rocket science.

Games like this are exactly why were not a top 6 side.

Koemans got to take the blame here. This "players are already on vacation" shit doesn't fly for me. The managers job is to make sure that doesn't happen, and he's failed

I had a bad episode when 27... too much drinking, experimenting with recreational drugs and i was exhausted. My brain chemistry went up the wall and I felt awful.
Fortunately my family were able to see this and I got help. Nothing more than a long chat with a psychiatrist who advised me that I was running on empty with my neurotransmitters all over the show due to the stimulants/depressants. He helped me to understand times when I was depressed but didn't know it... how to rationalise thoughts etc. He told me that I had already learned coping mechanisms and to put them in place.
6 months of antidepressants (which have their place but switched me off)... exercise, fish oils, vitamin b, quality sleep, support of my family, not touching a certain glamourised drug and cutting down drink helped. I was at an age that seems to be common for men to have an episode of depression. It is very common.
The fact is - I like many men have pre disposition to depression. It's important that anyone who reads this "talks to someone" if they ever get low.... I'm a strong person and all that stuff..... it doesn't matter. Depression is a real illness and when it hits it hits hard. It's a lonely place and people need to be able to talk to beat this stigma.
Wanted to share this in case anyone who reads this struggles themselves.... it's not a sign of weakness.... it's a sign you've been too strong for too long.

Gwlad reacted to Romey 1878 in Manchester United (Away) Tuesday April 4th
That was more like it!
Jags having a cracking game, Joel has made two high quality saves, Rom generally doing well as the lone front man, Mirallas looking up for it, Barkley looking a lot more like what we've gotten used to the past couple of months.
Think we'll have to survive a bit of a siege in the second half though, so Jags and Williams need to keep playing as well as they have done in the first half.

I think Unsy and big Dunc would make a better job of it than Koemans is doing at the moment.
