What a complete an utter bunch of whiners! We laugh at other sites going into meltdown, then all it takes is three losses in succession and some made-up newspaper headlines, and "off with his head." If this is what football has come to, with fans demanding (and sadly sometimes getting) their way when they don't win everything or get instant gratification, it's a sad day. McDonald's rules the world. Instant everything. What utter bollocks.

Funnily enough I just read Numbers Game which proved that if you want best bang for buck you should improve on your worst player. Corluka would be an improvement over Distin & Alcaraz.

How do they manage them in other cities?

Great American Ball Park is in the middle of Cincinatti: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_Ball_Park
    As is Busch Stadium: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Busch_Stadium
Safeco Stadium where I have visited was also very close to city centre.

And a few other baseball stadiums. Those have a capacity of 40,000+.

Olympics in Liverpool is a pipe dream. IOC won't give the Olympics to the same country any time soon (unless it's USA). With a rotation between continents & the fact that there will be Olympics in the other major European countries before they arrive in GB again it will probably be fifty years or more before that happens. And even then Liverpool won't be the automatic choice in England. London and Manchester would have a better case.

I know the Olympics are big. So how could Liverpool cope? Since the 1984 Olympics where the thing really blew off, the hosting cities have been much bigger (Athens metropolitan area has some 3,7 million people). There will be new countries vying for the games plus old ones that haven't had them in a long time. France, Germany, Italy. Even Spain will probably host them before GB. I would also expect that Poland and maybe Turkey will eventually get the games. Then there's Japan who haven't hosted the games since 1964, South Korea will have them again before GB. Then there are the quickly developing countries like India. China will have another crack before then. USA will have the games at least every 20 years from now on. Canada might also be interested. Mexico if they can stop the violence. And so on.

The more I think about it the more ridiculous the idea sounds. The city should start to prepare for something that might happen over 60 years from now (64 years between London Olympics), but probably won't? Even if stadiums and arenas were built they would be outdated long before the games so they would need to be rebuilt. And until then they would be way too big for Liverpool so would just cost a fortune on taxpayer money.

I'm expecting a loan signing. Barkley out for the EL group stages and Pienaar already struggling with injuries plus Atsu probably not ready to start games means we are a bit short on creativity.

There is only one problem with that. One players wages leaves and 4-6 new players wages go on the books. It's easy saying sell him for 50 million now go and buy 5 players for 10 million to replace him. Even if that player was on 50k a week and you brought 5 players in on 30k a week that is 150k a week so 100k a week more than you were previously playing times that per year then by 5 years and the figures will astound you.

He also wanted to build the Kirkby disaster (and I'm not even talking about it being outside the city). He has lied to and mislead fans. He stopped King's Dock just so he could keep control. He has sold everything, borrowed and leased. Commercial deals are poor.He can't hire a good CEO to save his life and clings on to useless ones.

Increased TV money is the only thing that has kept the club afloat.

I've been watching this guy since his debut in the national team where I thought he was MotM. I find calling him the "Finnish Xavi" somewhat funny, though. He's a good passer, but nowhere near Xavi's quality. On the other hand I've seen Eremenko tackle which I can't say for Xavi. Although I wouldn't call him good at it, mind.

Still think this is unlikely, because Kazan probably won't sell cheaply. He's been good in the Russian league, so much so that I thought he had already agreed a move to AC Milan (this was widely reported early in the summer). He's predominantly an attacking midfielder but has played every position in midfield and I think also as a right back.
