MC11 Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 http://www.sportinastorm.com/mobile/Premier-League/Everton/Cash-to-splash-for-Martinez-/X1Y31Z1792810 Just read this article (albeit not a good source) saying Martinez and Kenwright had a meeting this week and Kenwright has promised him more funds, also he looking to sign players from United but he's probably going to wait until they've made their signings. Could all be bollocks I know! Quote
Paddock Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Hopefully it's not though. Encouraging at least. Edited August 23, 2014 by Paddock Quote
markjazzbassist Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 hopefully it's true, a barkely replacement and another striker would be nice. Badger1998 1 Quote
EvertonianFL Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 If we are taking straight from United, who would you want? I'd go with Welbeck or Chicharito, but I think we will be priced out of Hernandez unfortunately. Reminds me a little bit of Tim Cahill, with his in the box finishing ability. msloan78 1 Quote
Hafnia Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 I'd take welbeck we need someone like him. Quote
c1982 Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 We'll have a bit more in the coffers now as Forshaw is Wigan bound and we get 50% of any fee (according to 4th Official on twitter), rumoured to be around the £5m mark. Quote
Kant Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 If I had to choose I'd take Powell for four million and Kagawa for 8, maybe Welbeck and Cleverley. Cleverley played some good football under Martinez in Wigan as a left forward. Quote
Lowensda Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Even as a friend's sibling, I wouldn't take Powelly. Happy he got the move but his attitude is still shocking and arguably worse since the move. Quote
Kant Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Kagawa could really fit in.. Give Martinez quality players, he will make them thrive. (Now please Roberto go and buy some defenders!) Even Welbeck would make sense, seeing how Naismith is performing lately. Kagawa would be a smart buy, play him for a year or two, then sell him to a Bundesliga/Serie A club for decent money. Quote
Steve_E Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 I don't think we'll get anymore players to be honest. I don't know whether we have the requisite quality in depth in all positions, but we have the numbers in depth. I could see us go for some of the youngsters we've been linked with though (Nicholson, Lenihan, Henen, Gomez, Brownhill, etc). Quote
Makis Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 I'm expecting a loan signing. Barkley out for the EL group stages and Pienaar already struggling with injuries plus Atsu probably not ready to start games means we are a bit short on creativity. Lowensda 1 Quote
