Matt Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 I really rated him at Arsenal, thought they were nuts to let him go. Now... Not sure....
verreauxi Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Don't really want someone who can't control his emotions on the field. Ridiculous conduct by that idiot during the WC.
duncanmckenzieismagic Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 I would love him here! Steve_E 1

Haha get back in ya box fella. I suppose you wanted Rooney out and b oh dunc for that matter then. Go back to reading ya bible will ya. thoward18 and StevO 2
dunlopp9987 Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Do we need another holding mid? Methinks no. Especially at the price we would have to pay for him.

Steve_E Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Do we need another holding mid? Methinks no. Especially at the price we would have to pay for him. If you use him as a holding midfielder, you wouldn't really be using him to the best of his abilities. He's much better going forward than he is defensively. I'd be very excited if we could get him in a box-to-box role next to a holding midfielder like McCarthy or Barry. Matt and Romey 1878 2
NyarkosLeftToe Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 He was brilliant at aArsenal, can't understand why anyone wouldn't want a player of his quality at the club, so what if he give some bellend a dig at the World Cup, probably knocked a few mil off his fee

BlueBlood81 Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 I'd take him all day long, would be excellent for us I reckon.
Ant1979 Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 He's available at £20m by some reports. There's no chance in hell that kind of money is being spent on a CM, one position which is relatively well covered. Good player though Matt 1

Matt Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 https://www.clubcall.com/everton/barca-ace-linked-to-everton-1736085.html Another DMC? Still unsure though no doubt he would be good competition
Lowensda Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 This won't happen and hope it doesn't. Romey 1878 1
bluenosetoffee Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 I don't think we need him either. We bought Besic who is going to be rotating with Barry/McCarthy. I don't think we need him unless we use him in more of an attacking role. Wouldn't want to pay out the ar$e for him either...
Romey 1878 Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Another DMC? Still unsure though no doubt he would be good competition Exactly why it's more than likely bull.
Paddock Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 There is no way we need another centre mid. This is bollocks
markiediow Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 If Utd or someone willing to pay £25m for McCarthy then we should buy Song and use the rest for an attacking midfielder like Kagawa or another top striker. We would have a better team overall. Would prefer them all but I believe we would have to sell now to improve the team significantly as most of our cash must be gone.

I wouldnt sell McCarthy for 50m, and Im not joking.
Shukes Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Ye me neither, we could have McCarthy for five or six years at the top of his game.... That's gotta be worth more than fifty million.
markjazzbassist Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 no thanks. i like our midfield as is, would rather a winger or striker.
foobiezw Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 Interesting but I can't see him coming over on the cheap. Would provide more competition for Barkley, Ossie in the centre of attack.
Peter H Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 I wouldnt sell McCarthy for 50m, and Im not joking. Id sell any of our players at 50m, Barkley included. But only if i knew that the money would be invested directly in 4-6 new players. Who at Everton is seriously worth 50m? Barkley might touch on it in a year or two if he keeps developing. Im a huge fan of McCarthy but he is not worth 50m. (and replacing him with 4-6 players worth 8-12m would be a great piece of business imo.

It's easy saying sell him for 50 million now go and buy 5 players for 10 million to replace him. Even if that player was on 50k a week and you brought 5 players in on 30k a week that is 150k a week so 100k a week more than you were previously playing times that per year then by 5 years and the figures will astound you. If a bid of £30-£35m came in for McCarthy I'd take it all day long. Kant 1
Shukes Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 A good business model for a football team is working out the value to replace a player rather than the players worth. That pits the younger players at a premium rate. I still wouldn't sell McCarthy or Barkley. Kant 1
J*A*C*K*E*L*Z Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 Id say yes and then we can sell gibson... Cus i cant be arsed with him any more
