Hard times here right now. RBG was a once-in-a-lifetime personality, a hero for women and marginalized people all over this country. I have to say, her death has affected myself and the people around me far greater than any in recent memory.
I have so many friends who are in those marginalized communities that RBG fought so hard to stand up for, and it's a scary time right now following her death. If the Republicans push through a nominee before the election, a) the hypocrisy will be rather astonishing and b) will potentially harm my friends and family for the rest of our lifetimes.
I know a lot of our immediate reactions were fear and resignation that we were doomed, but after sitting with this for a bit...that's not how RBG would want her legacy remembered. She was one badass woman and the thing she would want most is for us to stand up and fight. AND VOTE.

"by his own high standards he would have expected to have scored".
This commentator doesn't know DCL very well does he?

DCL has to score there, free header on the edge of the six yard box and he puts it wide. Great corner from James, but he really has to score there.
Pickford has also played us into danger twice now, not a great start from him.

Don't think anyone can complain with that Starting XI to be honest, I expect West Brom to be very comfortable with a draw so think it'll be a case of us breaking them down than the other way around. It's the hope that kills you, but I've been buzzing about this game all week - really excited to see what the lads can build on from Spurs.
Hoping that we can at least break the deadlock in the first half, perhaps even move into dreamland and head into half-time with a two-goal cushion.
Would love a James goal too, what a home debut that would be!

IMO, when you haven't won anything for 25 years you don't get to pick and choose which cups are a waste of time.
Rotate of course, but the strongest possible side for me in every single round to ensure that we get through and have something to lift at the end of the season.
Winning breeds winning, it becomes a habit.

I was coming in here to specifically say that his work rate defensively was a pleasant surprise. He doesn't do it all the time, and I don't want him to because he's a silky, sexy bastard going forward, but when he needs to he does the graft as well.
Moshiri has wanted a superstar signing, a proper marquee player... well, he's got it in James Rodriguez.

Went with Coleman, but could've given it to Doucoure or Mina as well. Allan improved as it went on, but a midfield pairing of he and Doucoure has the potential to be spectacular

James needs to come off. Need some fresh legs to help Coleman down that flank

This is just the type of game we must win to make the top tier again. We’ve positively shoved Spurs behind us. We must do the same to Chelsea, Leicester, and Arsenal. Next we have two games in which to really build up some steam and for that midfield to become a dynamic and creative rock (if that makes sense).

Expect James to come off soon. He's been much less involved this half, but that's to be expected. Hasn't played much recently

Get in, how great was that!?
It was brilliant to see them all thrown in but even better to see them perform as they did. I don't think anyone played badly either. There may have been a couple that you would have hoped for a little more but that was such an improvement on last season.
A couple worthy of a mention.  Doucoure was probably my motm. He was everywhere and he could have ended the game with a couple of assists and a couple of goal saving challenges.
Allan wasn't far off. He looks a bit slow over long distances but he is sharp over 5-10 yards, he is a leader and he looks to have a brain on him.
I'm not quite what to say about James, but I have never seen a footballer for Everton just have so much command of the game with the ball at his feet. It doesnt seem to matter where you pass it to him or how hard it is, as his first touch just kills the ball dead.
A nod should go to some of the guys at the back too. Pickford was faultless and it was good to see him come off his line at the end. Mina was commanding at the back and Seamus rolled back the years again.
Richarlison got better as the game went on but he should have scored at least one. He was a bit sulky early on but by the end of the game they couldn't touch him. I think DCL did well too. It was the type of performance he gives but when it went long to him or there was a ball to win like he did for the goal then he was winning it.

    HOW GOOD IS THIS?
Great individual performances, new lads inspiring the old ones.  We also had a plan and played to it.  Can't believe it was Everton.
