he will be desperate to prove himself and get into the world cup squasd, so for next 6 months if fit will be motivated to play out of his skin.
After that who knows but 20 million isn'tt much in the current market

Has anyone read this, putting it here as Niasse was mentioned when he broke back in the team.
It's about Straq and his time with us.

I can't see many coming in. maybe LB cover and a striker if someone suitable is available, from his interview after last nights game he certainly wasn't suggesting buying for the sake of it, and hinted the players coming back from injury,Coleman Barkley baines bolassie mori etc would all be like new signings and if anything there would be departures possibly loans out for the younger foreign players sandro klassen etc

At that age it's not too late to improve his finishing, being a good finisher is more about confidence and getting in the right place at right time which comes with experience. Some never learn it but DCL is improving as the season goes on.

We don't know if Moshiri has influence on the signings, I suspect he may have been involved in getting Rooney back to raise the profile.
Walsh would be reposnbile for scouting players and taking names to the manager, but I'm sure Koeman had the main say on who was uliimately signed.
In the end we overpaid for some decent but not good enough players and they are not settling in straight away, it could be pressure of being record signing like Sigi, being played in wrong positions or just adapting to the league.
Sandro proved he could score for a poor team in La Liga Klaasen not only looked good at Ajax but taking team through to Europa league.
There are many things that have gone wrong, but a difficult start and a lot of pressure and expectation from the ~£150m of signings are the main factors in my opinion, which has resulted in a team low in confidence and struggling.
I can see imrpovements in the way the team are now playing so hopefully the results will start to come.

The talk of relegation is very premature, we are 5 points off 10th. We now need to start getting results and it will happen.
We need to find a settled side and a way to utilize what we have until January and start getting results
Rooney is trying to hard running around and trying to do everything, when only he and Niasse have scored in the league this season there's definitely an issue, you cant rely on a couple of players, where are the set pieces and getting goals from central defenders like other teams do. At least in the last two games the team are now trying to attack hopefully it just needs a goal or two and the floodgates will open.

With being a local lad, he's always going to be under a lot of pressure in Merseyside, he's after a fresh start in a different city which is fair enough.
It's about a fresh challenge not about money if that's right, so lets just see what happens.

Just of interest if he stayed till next year and let his contract expire, would Everton still get a development fee(which could be decent for an England international) if signed by an English club?

They can't play every match if we qualify for group stages in the EL. With cup games we are looking well above 50 games for this season. 38 league matches, 2 EL qualifying matches, 2 EL knockout matches, 8 EL group matches, 1 League Cup and 1 FA Cup is the minimum in that case. I would hope there'd be at least another 5 or so games on top of that (or we have a crap cup year) so it could be closer to sixty games - and with good cup runs it could go above that.

What if we go far in the EL and are still in the hunt for a top four spot come April? On top of league matches there could be four EL matches (quarter and semi-finals).

he was given 45 minutes. not saying he is good enough for top 4 ambitions but he did ok at Hull. He probably would have been a better option than Kone who stayed last season.

Sorry but I do not think he is as bad as people make out.

He certainly made me happy when he scored this goal

and I think he will sign for a lower EPL or a championship team and score goals.

He showed with PNE he can do well at championship level and Grayson must have identified him as a player he wanted to take with him, so must have faith. He is a lot more talented than he was able to show for us, hopefully he can go and get his transfer and for a 31year old Everton can pocket a decent fee than can go towards a young start for the future.

He needed to change to 4 at the back against Stoke, but apart from that blip the 352 has been working well.

It show's at least RK is versatile and he will change personnel and formation if need be.

    I would go with

    Joel

    Holgate Williams Mori

    Coleman Davies Barkley Schneiderlin Baines

    Lookman
    Lukaku

Bring Gana on in the second half, no need to rush him back.
Midfield is obviously tricky now as we have6 players fighting for 3 positions, hard to keep them all happy.

With just the league to play for ,he must feel we have plenty of backup and use U23's if cover is required.

I made the usual mistake of looking at youtube that can make anyone look good.
But he does look like a big powerful lad that is decent in the air, also saw him take a decent free kick.

At 4million he may be worth a gamble as he is a big guy he may be starting to get stronger and fill out his frame,
and start to show the potential that got him a move to Inter in the first place.

He's a good player, has just been unlucky with injuries, he's never managed to get a good run of games together because of injury.

As much as we could so with him back I would rather he is given time to recover and is not rushed backed.
Then maybe we will see the real Besic.

Anyone here post Gana's wiki article lol.

Idrissa Gana Gueye (born 26 September 1989) is the greatest premier league footballer of all-time and is also a Senegalese professional footballer who plays for English club Everton and the Senegal national team as a defensive midfielder. He will eventually go on to win the Premier league with Everton with his Manager, Ronald Koeman, in the 2016/17 season.

Here's the full link but someone may change it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idrissa_Gueye
