captainbeaker got a reaction from London Blue in Weirdness Abounds (or the Idrissa Gana Gueye Thread)
Anyone here post Gana's wiki article lol.

Idrissa Gana Gueye (born 26 September 1989) is the greatest premier league footballer of all-time and is also a Senegalese professional footballer who plays for English club Everton and the Senegal national team as a defensive midfielder. He will eventually go on to win the Premier league with Everton with his Manager, Ronald Koeman, in the 2016/17 season.

Here's the full link but someone may change it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idrissa_Gueye

At that price could be good cover for Baines and central defence backup. Similar to Holgate covering RB and centre back.

Jags has been a good player don't get me wrong, but has never been that commanding centre back that organises everything, he'll put his body on the line to block anything and great at last ditch tackle, but Williams is more the complete centre half and will help whomever he's playing with be it Mori or Stones if he stays.

Sounds like he's been carrying injuries for a while, buy Witsel or other new quality player and rest McCarthy get him fully fit in the meantime use Barry/Besic.
Hopefully with a different training regimes players like McCarthy Besic etc will be playing more and be fitter which definitely was an issue last season. Too many injuries and tiredness leading to late goals against.

Maybe one of the mega bucks China league teams will take him, surely he's still up to that level.

I know jury is still out on Niasse but we will also have the swiss lad Tarashaj next season, so If Rom does get enticed to a bigger club like Madrid I can see just the one striker, someone like Bony may not be a bad fit as he has proven himself in the premiership and you have the potential of the other two coming through for competition.

May well be overpriced, but I would give him time, can take a while to adjust to new country, league , system., a year ago many of you would have said Lukaku was overpriced now there's talk of his value being a lot higher.

I thought he was playing quite well till he got injured, maybe he was rushed back, in the games since he has returned he certainly has made mistakes and looks off the pace.
It won't have helped now Jags is injured and he has to get used to playing with Mori, one of them will have to step up and be a leader and that's probably stones so another new situation.

He's on trial so no risk, Roberto obviously has contacts in Spain so he feels it worth giving him a try. If over his injury problems he's still on 26 so worth a look maybe a short contract of things work out.
Browning can do a job but is out of his depth when going forward then gets pulled out of position.
I agree let him get experience at Centre Back.

I would rather Borwning at RB and keep stones and Jags in the centre.
Only other change I would consider is Lennon for Kone to give him more protection, Jefferson Montero has started the season well and could do with more width to keep him contained.

He's probably a better number 10 than a winger but spurs prefer players such as erikson there.
They may well sell him if it frees up the cash to buy Berahino.

Could cover the No10 and back up striker roles so wouldnt be bad signing for a couple of years.

captainbeaker got a reaction from efc1111 in Tom Cleverley
I agree we need a few additions but a very big squad his a lot of unhappy players thinking they should be playing.
It would be hard trying to convince a quality striker to sign if they were likely to be sitting on the bench, I can't see Roberto playing 2 out and out strikers unless we're behind with 20 minutes to go.
Cleverley will be a good addition due to the fact he can play in a few positions, obviously was rated by Sir Alex and at 25 should be in his prime.
He's looked good preseason, so lets give him a clean slate and judge him after he has has a chance to play some competitive games for Everton

Keeping a settled team and without the distraction of world cup before and europa league during the season will help and I can see at least a top 8 finish.

captainbeaker got a reaction from Cornish Steve in Ospina
Venger probably wants Cech as an organiser for the back 4 as much as his goal keeping ability. Ospina certainly improved Arsenals defence when he replaced Szczęsny.

Ospina would be good but I can only see it happening if Howards does go back tot he states, there must be several MLS teams that would love to have him behind the sticks.

I like Michu for 1million he's 29 so could easilly recapture his first season at Swansea form and Joel Campbell at 4million he's obviously a talent and could give good options up front.
