We have the Russians working on that. I mean if they can rig an election across all of America, surely they can fix this shit right in their back yard?
Give us a waiver slot for being the only team in the world who has to play soccer against footballers.
Plant dead mosquitoes in their luggage  and quarantine the Costa Rica team for malaria.
Invade Croatia and pin it on Serbia.
Whatever, just make this shit happen so we don't have to have the FBI start indicting the entire governing body.  See, we're not an unreasonable lot.

Totally agree. If he is used properly, he is valuable. Gana is all effort and all hustle. Don't try to make him play a creative role, it's not him. Let him run amok from the 6 or a true CM. Niasse's finishing on touch in traffic is iffy - which sounds absurd after seeing his last goal, but still. Pretty much every time he came in, he made shit happen. Even if he was not scoring or was not on frame, he ran around like an unguided missile, stressing CB's and deep midfielders who had been running for 60-70 mins already, and pulled people out of shape. If we had more ruthless players in the final third, who knows what a bigger effect he could have for 20-30 mins due to work rate and effort alone.
Plus, the way RK unprofessionally humiliated him to the media and the squad....never a peep, he just kept at it, with no locker, with the U23's, at Hull... and always seems to play with a grin or a smirk. I don't think he can ever lead the line besides in a pinch, and I don't see him scoring 15 in a season, but I think he absolutely can provide value in the proper role. for a couple years, and I would bet he is pretty popular in the dressing room.  And he is 20,000 less a week than Ashley Williams, so then there is that....

Could be worse, I keep checking the Groups for updates to see where USA is. Nothing yet, but I'm sure it will get sorted before group play begins.
    In Qatar

Reckon I'm all in on my cousins across the pond this year.  Especially after that pretty 'Murican girl just married into the Royal Fam, we're almost first cousins now!

He was really just getting settled in when his injury occurred. He will have rust to shake off, but you think by the time he does start back, he should be much better settled in. He has seemingly been hugely positive through his recovery and is chomping at the bit to get out there. I am really looking forward to him getting on the pitch again.

I do like the bench, 3 attacking types, a defender and 2 holding mids. Interesting that Sandro, McCarthy and Keane (unless injured) aren't in team

Will never happen, if for no other reason he doesn't speak the language well enough. I'm saying it should come down to that, but it wouldn't surprise me. But being an Atlanta United fan, and having been to a few games...hell yes!
My actual biggest concern is what Elston Gunnn said - losing that once per 4 year window to really make the US stand up and notice "soccer". 2014 brought a flood of new fans and we're not going to get that this go around. If the US Soccer Federation doesn't burn it to the ground and rebuild it - like from youth development on up, then we should just say fuck it all.

So I need a judge's ruling here. My fam lived in England until sometime in the mid-late 1700's, so can I be an England fan in 2018? Or, are y'all gonna make me pull for Iceland or Japan or something?

Pickford. He has put 2 of the better balls forward. Including the ball that went from 18 to 18 on the fly

Fair point, but you should go read the Montgomery Advertiser. I by read, I mean "don't read"

I can't remember, has Lookman ever played as a striker, or just out on wing? I just want to see he and DCL paired up for pace as striker/wing or front 2 with DCL playing the target striker.

City looked better with 10, they played their asses off. Say what you want about them, but Aguero, Silva and Debruyne are a freaking nightmare of class and guile in the attacking half. That feels like 4-5 men there. Disappointed we didn't finish them, but Jesus, that's such a good squad. It's a point, I'll take it.

Williams, Martina aside, and Stek, meh, but I thought everyone played well individually. However, as a team, it looked like a bunch of strangers, which it is.

Klassen is slippery in tight spaces, DCL is causing problems, Keane looks good in the back, freaking Gana has probably already run 5 miles, Schneiderlin is smooth as ever, and Williams scares the shit out of me.....

The substitutions were brilliant. Davies added his usual grit and flair to the midfield, Mirallas created havoc when he replaced a tiring Lookman, and Holgate came in to shore up the back, 2 more goals actually came out of the counter.

Not a good day for our CB's, but Robles has seized the stopper job with both hands, another stellar performance.

This explains the Barca connection. His age seems like the reason he hasn't moved yet.

ODDS SUGGEST EVERTON HAVE BEATEN LIVERPOOL & BARCELONA IN RACE FOR WONDERKID
Brazilian ticks all the boxes for Koeman
    31 January 2017
It’s not often you see Barcelona, Everton and Liverpool all linked with the same player. But add to that the fact that the Toffees look to have beaten their rivals in the race to sign someone and we have an incredibly strange case on our hands.
The man in question is Brazilian prodigy Caio Emerson.
Currently on the books at Corinthians, the 17-year old wouldn’t be able to move from the Brazilian outfit until next month – when he turns 18.
But that hasn’t stopped our traders from making Everton the 8/13 favourites for the wonderkid’s signature.
While the prospect of playing for La Liga giants Barcelona would seem too good to refuse for most youngsters, Emerson’s apparent decision to opt for a move to Goodison Park already tells us he’s got a mature head on his shoulders.
And Toffees supporters will certainly be walking round Merseyside with a smug look on their faces if the forward turns down a move to their Red neighbours in favour of the Blues.
Perhaps Emerson has been swayed by the potential game-time he’d likely receive at Everton, especially given the fact that Koeman has already handed senior debuts to three players aged 19 or younger this season.
Regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in South America, Emerson’s potential arrival to the Premier League would be a huge coup for the division as a whole.
