  1. I have said that wearing club attire wouldn’t make him a better player, but both coming out in club colours of some description would have shown a better image for the club in my eyes, I maybe out of touch with fashion and designer clothes, but I don’t see that as the issue this isn’t an age thing it’s an image thing in my view. My missus many years ago use to be a buyer for Texas Home Care they were a national DIY chain that went bust, just to prove how good she was at her job , they use to have what they called a muffty day from memory and used it to raise money for charity, where you were allowed to go to work very casual for a small donation to the charity box, but if you had meetings with clients in or out the office you were expected to dress accordingly. I think the club will learn from this because any negative comments are bad comments for a business that cares about it’s image, and the act of going to dressing room 15 minutes before you are paraded to all and sundry and putting a club tracky on isn’t to much to ask surely, and if it is then what a shit position this club as got it’s self into on and off the the pitch.
  2. That’s were I stand as I said in my original post the club should be giving them an acceptable dress code that represents the club only when on official club duty, and I believe he was at the ground on official club duty that day. No it’s not going to make him a better player, but it gives an image of a united discipline which is a strong message to portray from a club and team point a view, and what’s so wrong with that, his dress on that day when he was being presented to the fans the media the country did draw negatives from some fans and some of the media which does vindicate that it was looked upon by some as unacceptable. Everton as a football club are a business and I believe should act accordingly, some of you own your own businesses or hold managerial roles in the company’s you work for, surely you must see how important it is for the image of the company to be shown in a positive way. Come on Everton pull your socks up on certain simple things and who knows it may reflect favourable on the playing side. I could go on for ever and tell you the things I’ve learnt and implemented over the years in my business to enhance my company's image which if you place the success of business on it’s repeat contracts and profits I haven’t done to bad a job.
  3. You must have a strange sense of humour Dunc if you find that Ist stat fun I’m in tears
  4. Good shout completely over looked him
  5. We will miss him but we can cover him with a decent line up of Richarlison DCL Gordon/Townsend up top and Alli Alan and DVB in the middle.
  6. Okay didn’t realise that you win mate. No hard feelings Bailey but I can’t really argue with that
  7. If we could perform as well as nearly all the pundits think we should or can do I would be a lot happier, but the reality is we aren’t I hope the players aren’t taking any notice of what the has beens are saying for fear of them thinking they are too good to go down, and instead they grasp and care about the position we are in get their heads down and give their all. I don’t know about others but all these so called experts are starting to piss me off with their we are to good to go down then we go out play like a bunch of pricks and get our fucking arses handed to us.
  8. That is very debatable imo they were there already being paid and being presented to the fans, I would very much so say that they were representing the club and not there of there own choice.
  9. This has got rather silly as someone who runs his own company I do want and expect the guys who work for me to be presentable in their appearance, as carpenters they are skilled and looking presentable helps reflect that there work will be presentable, I have to implement this with quite a few who basically would go to work looking tramps rather than someone you would want to work on your house, I agree being of smart appearance won’t make you a better carpenter but it will definitely take the microscope off you from people questioning your ability because your appearance can make people question your workmanship. I personally don’t blame Alli or others mentioned for there appearance when representing the club, I firmly blame the club I think there should be a code of conduct set out by the club on all aspects of acceptable behaviour if you are an Everton player, and a dress code should be implemented when representing the team, I don’t think it’s to much to ask and imo shows a togetherness and professionalism. Again imo these things should be implemented by the manager and DoF.
  10. That happened 2 or 3 times were he received the ball and just froze not sure what to do, if you watch players had to go to him to get it, on one occasion I think something was said to him and he stood there shrugging his shoulders, definitely not up to speed and not the only defender who can’t play out from the back. I will agree with you he was no worse than the other 2 CBs but that doesn’t make him ready because he wasn’t any worse than them we know they are poor. Personally our defence are what will cost us our PL place, and Lampard's style of playing out from the back is fair enough that’s his belief in how a team should play, but what concerns me is we haven’t got CBs blessed with the ability to carry that out and Branthwaite on Tuesday showed he doesn’t yet have that in his locker. We may have little choice but to play him due to injuries so I hope he has a blinder every game, but our defence really concerns me and playing out from the back with players who aren’t good on the ball heightens my concerns.
  11. I’ve got those Aviators in gold and silver but it hasn’t made me popular
  12. Branthwaite showed he’s no where near ready for the first team yet especially a team under pressure, he gave the ball away trying to play out from the back a couple of times in quick succession trying to make 15-20 yard passes, which really effected his confidence, he’s too young and to inexperienced to be dealing with intensity of being in this Everton defence.
  13. I’ll take that it’s looking more like we get nothing because he doesn’t meet the conditions stipulated. We need another striker
  14. Very true Mike, but you would have thought to try and give a bit credibility they would have came up with a lesser clown than the big one they chose, that’s assuming they have one of course.
  15. Leeds have just drawn 3-3 away to Villa with 14 attempts at goal and 8 on target, they also enjoyed 63% possession, doesn’t look so easy for us now does it, and after that we are away to Southampton who just beat Spurs away 2-3. No easy games in this league we need to get 3 points from this game a point may prove not enough come the end of the season.
  16. The club have find him two weeks wages estimated to be 250K obviously a spit in the ocean to him, but I hope they give the money to animal charities then at least some good can come out of this.
  17. It is a disgrace and the government act obliviously to it, and pretend everything is going swimmingly. And now Rees-Mogg as been appointed minister for Brexit opportunities we are well and truly fucked.
  18. So sad to hear your about your wife’s illness John, you will both be in all our thoughts mate I’m sure. I don’t know how or what advice I could give you to make this easier, reading Mike’s post if it was me I would seek the help available he mentioned, I hope they would be able to give you the best advice and direction for all the family and help with all the questions you must have.
  19. Dialectic Is also an argument or debate between different people to find the truth, how can you be interested in one without the other. In other words you are posting your beliefs as fact and aren’t prepared to argue or debate their merits.
  20. I went for the old man Coleman made younger players look like pedestrians on a stroll in the park, plus he played bloody well.
  21. I agree with you he is a different level to what we have, who needs time Alli to drop his vision because he’s a step above those playing around him, or those around him to pick their games up. I know what I think and as I said in another thread we haven’t got the players with the vision to play at his level, even Richarlison looked out of his depth around him.
  22. Just finished watching the game again can’t find to many positive’s bar Gordon and surprisingly Coleman who once again covered more ground than those a lot younger, Alli and DVB showed that they have more ability than most of our team, now it’s down to Lampard to make sure it’s used and not wasted I don’t envy his task yesterday showed we haven’t got the players to read the game as well as these 2, Alli made runs and no one had the vision to play him in, DVB gets on the ball and control’s it well you can see he wants it,but he needs people round him who he can play off, so often he’s stood still waiting for someone to make a move. I worry we don’t have the right calibre of player to implement Lampard's plan, I hope he’s got a plan B to implement if we don’t get the right results in the next two games, I can guess what it will be pack the defence and hit on the break.
  23. Out played out fought whether we were out managed far to early to say, I said he needs 3-4 games and then we should expect to see good progress if not we are destined for the drop. But I will be brutally honest I doubted his ability before he got the job to know how to fight a relegation battle, now I pray I’m wrong.
