I think £ 60m plus McCarthy should swing it if you price him at £10m.  Wouldn't cost us a lot cos we made more than that selling all the dead wood from last season.
Though I would rather spend that amount on a goal scoring striker,  Bernard doesn't really need replacing so urgently.

Get them in Ste and I'll join you, unless we're still selling just Carling in which case I'll be in a pub outside.

DCL can't be our only striker going into the season.
Niasse and Tosun have shown they aren't good enough, especially in this system. Richarlison would reluctantly be my next choice, but both his form and Coleman's form improved when he moved to right towards the end of the season. We need another striker. I still think DCL needs a lot of improvement, and if goes down with an injury I think we'd be royally screwed. It's also very unfair to him to rely on him for a complete season.

I'd rather us slip under the radar, the quality we have in are team with a couple of signings we should easily be challenging the top 6 if not the top 4, Arsenal are no great shakes and who knows what's going to happen at United and Chelsea

No from me at that price, we have enough wingers and other positions that need sorting first.

Unlike the goal where he looked one way and headed it another which was a total fluke, I actually think he meant this one, his foot movement is to the ball. Its unnatural if he was just falling over.
Although to be fair the way he runs is like watching Taz on acid, arms and legs all over the place.

We lacked a plan b last season especially against teams that sat back against us, hopefully with the signing of Delph and fingers crossed a few others we will have a few more options and be able to play different formations against certain teams.

If we got rid of Tosun and Niasse then signed Mandzukic and another young striker, it would be a master stroke. The bloke has been a world class striker for the past however many years - on a 1 or 2 year deal his mentality/quality would be priceless. Imagine being Calvert-Lewin and getting to train with this level of player everyday - it’d surely improve his game.

Holgate made mistakes though (as did others) and was only played at RB in the Championship. Its things like the goal in the African game that he does too regularly. Simple stupid errors.
I do like him but I wouldnt want to trust him as a 3rd choice CB. If Mina or Keane got injured for a period of time then it would leave us very short. I would accept Holgate could be used as the 2nd choice RB and 4th choice CB but thats it.

Yeah I'd go with something like that, it would give us a plan B and we wouldn't be so predictable. I also wouldn't mind getting Costa if the price was right (10-15 mill) at least he'd gives us that aggression and could teach DCL a thing or two.

We ain't going to get a proven striker without champions league football, so do we take a risk on DCL or risk spending millions on an unproven striker for it not to work?

What we as a club are missing is a player that can score a goal out of nothing, and change a draw into a win. If DCL can do that then great,  he'll save us a load of money. I personally would like to give him a full season as are main striker to see if he can do it, but I wouldn't be happy going into the new season with just one striker because we have no one else good enough.

We just need to get a settled defensive partnership, for me it should be Keane with either Holgate or Mori (when fit), and let Keane be the leader back there as he was at Burnley.

Looks so much better centrally, put pace on the wings and a quick forward passer in midfield, and he'll be great.

Think there working on Klaassen to make him not so easy to knock of the ball, just like Tottenham did with Modric. I can see him getting game time soon. could have done with getting an easier draw in the fa cup, to play are fringe players.
