I've not read it like that, tbh.
I've read that as him laying it on a plate for the players. Most years over the last 7 or so we end up with the same thing.
To me, he's saying he's fighting and they can too. But he's not going to get sacked because of them, like other managers have.
Now, for me, these words would carry more meaning if we hadn't been on a shit run...
However, I do agree there is an air of arrogance. Like...on one hand hes saying he's responsible etc etc, on the other he's on the players regards the past.
I'm a bit bored of hearing about the off field stuff (points, owners etc). I get it has an impact, but it's his job to get the results still...not then come back and say 'look how hard this is for me...'
It's still a results business and that long run wasn't acceptable.
Like I've said before, judgement day at the end of the season. For now, full support and limp over the line.
They get full support. Like always....when I go the game I support the team irrespective of what I think of manager or players. When I don't go the game my attention is on the team as much as it can be.
fact is - dyche is turning the focus on the players when in all honesty I think how he sets us up and selects players and makes subs is the most detrimental to us.
he had us committing forward vs pacey Chelsea away vs sitting back at home to Burnley. It was like Lampard vs spurs over a year ago - like complete and uttter lunacy.
he is throwing his toys out the pram, this is the last throw of the dice to get a reaction and doesn't often go well at all. To say to the players "you got previous managers sacked but I'm going nowhere" which is pretty much how I read it is some fighting talk.
For me he can only be talking to Pickford, dcl, tarks, doucs, mykolenko and Onana, and if that lot Onana and doucoure are the 2 who fit that bill. No doubt in my mind Onana needs hauling over the coals along with Doucoure to a small degree.
None the less I feel he is carrying scar tissue from his Burnley sacking where the players stopped listening to him.

Watching it. Luton's pace outlet went off injured - since that moment been all over the place.

Expecting Luton to win today, wouldn't be surprised if Burnley do as well, and all of a sudden it's a 4 team race
Not your usual positive self.

well he's certainly lost the dressing room hasn't he. That interview confirms it. "You hate me, you want me gone but I know I'm not going cos no one can sack me so forget a new manager bounce".
His words would be absolutely spot on if he hadn't left himself in such a position where the players are thinking "shut up you arrogant fkn prick, I can't stand you or your tactics or your bullying and finger pointing".
I repeat for the umpteenth time - the Portugal slap was the end for him. A captain taking his manager aside to actually get an apology is one thing, him smirking and making it about Patterson being a snowflake in a press conference essentially ripped up his apology and recreated a bigger gap between him and the squad.
His complete lack of self reproach is evident, zero humility at all.

Exactly. Could be a Bosman level event if he wanted it to be.
Horrible club spurs.
looks like they want gibbs-white in the summer...... its almost as though levy isn't looking at what he needs but "who can I get cheaper than they are worth"...
richarlison, Maddison, Brennan Johnson now gibbs-white..... levy likes the psr stress invoked sales doesnt he?
I bet when British Home Stores staff were crying at the checkouts after finding out they had lost their jobs he was asking them when they would be marking their stock down.

I don't want to be dramatic but lose this and I think we are fucked.
the team needs a Palace (2022), Bournemouth (2023) esque performance.
we need composure on the ball so please play Gomes. We need energy and fight so please don't play Onana.
finally we need some luck in front of goal because skill (or lack of) is getting us nowhere.
COYB!
I think we will lose. I said after the Burnley game we had reached an all time low
we are relying on Luton getting beat today.
ive said all along we are reliant on Luton waving the white flag which they just don't do. Lokonga is back which automatically improves them by 40%.
good times

Would you rather a manager say "yeah the lad can fuck off, never gonna play for me ever again"?
I'd rather the manager actually not destroy a good prospects career in favour of a 39 year old who's been utter shite or a centre half who is the worst positional defender we have.
Other than that - dyche thought nothing of telling the media the slap wasn't an issue - Patterson just didn't get the joke. I don't think he gives a shit about the lad and it came across as disingenuous as dyche usually is. "Good outfit"

your fault @Matt I told you to keep that powder dry! He's been reading toffeetalk!
"I'm currently not deemed to be doing a good job"....... as though he's surprised by that?!
yeah Sean the 4 games worth of credit has kinda evaporated in the 15 games of repetitive shite they we have seen.
I can't handle him sorry..... it's like watching an mp in full bullshit bingo flow.

watching dyche press conference...... waffle fest. DCL and Branthwaite should be fit, other than that it was like watching a career politician at work.

absolutely disgusting, FA cup replays have actually stopped clubs going under - the only thing that was almost pure about the game even though man united did it untold harm when they missed it. I hate football now I really do.

All good mate. Like I said, but maybe not clearly enough; I can't defend him anymore. I still believe the players are the biggest problem. After all, this run hasn't improved even with the enforced changes mixing the teams up a bit. But when you've got 16 seniors to chose from seriously (before injuries, suspensions and AFCON) mixing things up isn't really an option and the whole style (or complete lack thereof) is to avoid exposing the weakness of our players, like basic passing, basic shooting, basic tracking and running. They do it in the training videos, so how does Dyche transfer that concentration over the line? I don't think he can with everything taken into consideration and so he should go if we have a decent candidate. Hafs shout about Baines is a good call if we want to survive on blood and thunder. I wonder if we could tempt Carsley when thinking outside the media... But again, circumstances prevent us swapping staff.
Not being funny Matt you honestly seem the training videos and thought "good finish" - they are doing 1-2s against mannequins and the goalkeepers don't save shots that are pretty lame. They let them in.
This is not training at all, it's absolutely farcical. It's all pr, I've seen people rip the videos apart for the piss poor sessions that they are.
I can't wait to see the back of him and his gang I really can't. Dwight McNeil ironically applauded Mike Jackson for giving him freedom and belief after dyche was sacked

If my defenders were abysmal at defending set pieces with their shoelaces tied together, I'd still be angry but I'd understand why. The handicap of the clubs state of affairs over the last several years is still there.
Do you think Baines would rally the troops? He was always so quiet but he was also captain and highly thought of. Maybe him and Coleman, someone who can be the voice and kick them up the arse (metaphorically speaking of course )? But we can't pay Dyche off, else we would have already going on past experiences, so it's immaterial really. Doesn't make it any less frustrating or anger inducing.
Baines doesn't necessarily need to rally the troops, just actually give the team instructions and tactics that aren't rinse and repeat recipes for failure like dyche.
he doesn't have a clue how to change things, he stands there throwing his arms up in the air when his players aren't carrying out his master plan.
dyche looks and sounds like a man who knows his game is up.
we don't need to pay him off, he just takes gardening leave. As far as I can see the players have had enough of him
