I expect this why no actual moves have been made as yet and as I said in another thread people moaning about villa signing 5 and Liverpoo, Saints, etc. making early moves need to chill out. Neither has begun their new roles officially - July 1st will signal that.

He's got a great engine on him (and only 3 previous owners).

Southampton are 2-3 players short of being a top 10 team IMO. Another 1st team cb, a winger and a forward would make them a very strong prospect.

I do like Andy Gray talking passionately about EFC, always liked him, knows his beans - something some of the current pundits are lacking!

ManC will be the obvious move for him with Pellegrini there with probably unlimited funds!

Get a few in early but save a couple of deals until Aug 31st - it's the football fans Christmas Day! It is actually my favourite day of the year and that's saying something with how frustrating it's been in recent years!!!

I would love Vermaelen here. As good as Distin's been he'd displace him comfortably.

Hughes, Ince and Bruce did well but had their heads turned too easily and as a result haven't been as successful as maybe they should have been.

So presumably the attacking, technical, goalkeeping, etc. youth coaches will stay until told otherwise. What I'm saying is Irvine doesn't do it on his own so why would Neville and presumably it's a whole club approach so the tactics/mentality/strategy comes from the top eg. Moyes or whoever replaces him.

Irvine's not our only youth coach.

I'd love Neville as Irvine's replacement should he leave. Already got some experience with the national youth set-ups and has just completed his a-licence... perfect in my opinion.
