Yes, I think a lot depends on the manager too. He's been linked with the Spurs job, some reports claim that a deal for Shaw to Man Utd is already in place, and none of them will be drawn on their future in recent interviews.
 
I'd hate to see Lallana join that lot as I love him as a player and could easily see him slotting into our side, especially as a Pienaar replacement, and the fact that he's a boyhood blue would make it harder to take. But with the value Southampton are likely to put on him these days it looks as though he'd be out of our reach.

I don't really understand the lukewarm sentiment towards Lukaku. He's the second-highest scorer this club has had in the last 18 years despite the fact that he's only played 28 league games for Everton this season. And he's only 20 years old. As he exists now he's as good of a striker as Everton have had in a long time, and I don't see why he's not going to significantly improve as he gets older. Who are superior strikers both for now and the future, that Everton have a realistic shot at?

I didn't actually elaborate on it, but one of the main attractions for me for Everton was the idea of not spending big money but still being more than competitive with the Big Four. I support clubs, not players. I don't care about some big name player. I care about club loyalty (both staffs and players) as well as smart usage of the assets in front of you. More money might buy better players but it doesn't buy loyalty .

I think he is a very underated player and would love him here

I've been a Villa fan for the best part of 42 years and have never posted outside a Villa forum in my life! Especially to congratulate a team on loosing. Everton have got a great squad and a good manager and loads of history; I know Villa are safe now and look forward to competing with you again next season.

If West Ham beat Spurs on Sat then we'd only need a point for 5th now 4th is all but gone. Best case scenario for me is we beat City and Palace beat Liverpool.
 
As for the Chelsea 'anti-football' - they could end up with a league and champs league double, Mourinho is brilliant, each game should be set up for to get a result - fair play to Chelsea if anything. They'll be tough to beat next season when Jose has got his preferred strikers in.

I'm starting to hope he does go elsewhere and we invest in a younger player tbh.
