    Hung parliament for me Labour to form a government in a coalition with Lib Dems I hope. Theresa May forced to leave country. Johnson and Gove executed. Tory party disbanded.
    If only dreams can come true, what a better country we could be living in.

    Labour were the ones that brought in prescription charges and dental charges.
    1) £8.40, hardly compares to what a fully privatised medical system will charge you.

    Workers make the owners rich? Surely that's the whole point or are you suggesting that the people taking the risk to set up businesses and employing people shouldn't see any of the benefit of doing so?
    2) no there should be give and take. Company's used to look after their workers and stronger unions ensured that. Company's should make everyone one prosper not just those at the top. Asda make billions yet pay minimum wage. The country is disgrace for not redistributing the wealth, and even worse letting the money leave the country.
    There's very little risk in big business, look at the banks we bailed then. Look at Phillip Green, his company went bankrupt and fucked over all the staff yet he's still a billionaire and never paid into the British pot.

    Again landlords who have earnt their money and invested it in property? What is wrong with that? I doubt you will find many landlords with money in the Cayman Islands.

    3)Earnt it? Taken advantage of rising prices (because of the lack of government housing) more like it. Homes should be homes, not investment plans. Half the new builds in Manchester are owned by the Chinese and Russians. Not even advertised as apartments there marketed as high yielding buy to lets. How can you say someone who bought a house for day £25k and rents it out for £600 a month is justifiable. Add to the mix the young are now on less wages and have to pay 5x as much to buy a property. Thanks a fucking lot.
    Look at half a Parliament, were to they declare the portfolio? Sorry it might be Panama, used to be Switzerland.

    Even the evidence behind fox hunting is very 50/50. It's not for me but I'm guessing the problems foxes cause aren't a problem for you other than one rummaging through your bins every other week.
    4) using the same logic the generation before me made some terrible decisions and have made the world a worse place to live. Can I just go round and kill them?

    Labour also brought in tuition fees (again which I don't believe is a bad thing) and if Corbyn gets his way you won't have a job to go to but at least you can pick up more on benefits.
    5) I don't get what your point is here, or how one is related to the other?

    I agree though, May is a leech. Can't stand her, don't like her wishy washy manifesto either.

    Corbyn is a different kettle of fish though. Trying to rewrite history as a man of peace, commies at his sides and then creates a completely unaffordable manifesto trying to push out and destroy all business on the eve of Brexit whilst then claiming that corporation tax increases will pay for all of his great ideas.
    6) it's costed so I wouldn't say unaffordable. Businesses since the recession have took workers for a ride. The economy is booming on paper, just not shared equally.

    The Lib Dems aren't much better either with a leader that doesn't support gay marriage (not really very liberal), UKIP are a farce and the Greens live on cloud cuckoo land. I think I will abstain!

    7) Abstaining would essentially be a vote tory. Surely it can't be that difficult for anyone to pick any of the others over May. You don't have to agree with every policy, take the picture as a whole and pick what's best for the future.

    We know the truth, its been very well explained and demonstrated and that has been done using science, the article you posted there is a tin foil hat piece without a single reference to back up its quite frankly garbage claims, most of which have been easily debunked years ago.

    When you're pedalling that type of garbage spare a thought for the people who died and the people they left behind who have to listen and read the shit.

    A bit surprised at what i've read over the last couple of pages as I feel I've been watching a different game to everyone else.

    I'd agree on some points but totally disagree on others.

    This was the first full match I'd seen this season, though I'd seen quite a bit of others it was the first time I'd been able to sit down and watch a match fully.

    From early on it was clear that Koeman had given them a kick up the arse with regard to starting better. They came out quickly, pressing, moving the ball forward quickly with Barkley (all be it making errors), Bolassi and Lukaku looking to move forward quickly and trying to make things happen. Palace for the most part defended pretty solidly and thwarted any efforts. Palace slowly got themselves into the game and started to look better as the half went on.

    The second half they came out much better and got more control, their crosses were a constant threat and they defended our attacks very well.

    Overall the difference from Martinez time were very clear to see. We attacked fast with players looking to quickly move things forward, the fact that we ended up not creating a shot was more down to good defending than players arsing about ala martinez time. Yes you can say they need to be more creative but I felt the efforts were ok if a little disappointing that they didn't produce enough chances.

    I found the game so much more entertaining to watch than anything over the last season from Martinez, they pushed forward fast with some crisp moves that weren't quite coming off, Bolassi was a highlight for me, skillful and quick but also strong and works very hard too, the only thing he seems to lack really is an eye for goal. A couple of times he got in positions where others might choose to shoot but would look to get it across to Lukaku. Defensively we coped pretty well with them most of the time, obviously Benteke wasn't covered by the centre backs for the goal but for the most part they had him covered well and though crosses came in and were dangerous they got dealt with.

    I don't think you could say we didn't press them or that we didn't look to attack them at pace. We didn't plod around with lots of side to side passes.

    It's a disappointing result, especially after the last 2 games but I felt Palace posed a tough challenge and would have given most sides a very hard game with the way they played. We do need to work harder and getting chances and as someone said a few more shots from outside the box (something better than Barkley's awful 35 yard conversion!) wouldn't go a miss.

    --

    On the note of "based on that City will smash us" attitude.

    Last time I watched City they weren't spending most of their time to hoof the ball into a big centre forward. In fact Crystal Palace have had more crosses than any other team in the league (7.9pg) while Man City are 15th with just 3.9pg.

    With that in mind I take little relevance to the defensive troubles we had against Palace, our defensive were generally solid against them on the ground. Palace had 10 shots but we blocked 6 of them. They actually only got 1 non headed shot past our defensive, which was wide by a mile.

    Attack wise I think we are well capable of posing a threat to City, I think they will probably score against us but certainly think we can cope with their attack in the most part.

    Enough of the doom and gloom.

    Forget the position, I just hate the fucking name. It's the FIFA generation, ten years ago there was players who would sit in the midfield and put tackles in and sit deep. They used to be called a midfielder. Now you have to be a DCM or and ACM. It's just nonsense. No one uses to call Scholes an ACM. The same as playing 4231, it's no different from 433, but now everything has names that are just crap from computer games.

    "Longest Thread for Drivel" is right.

    Wow, I just, don't care anymore. He can leave; could've left last season because he's been disrespectful towards the club and the supporters for far too long now. In fact, if the club's going to keep him he should be doing some PR damage control to win everyone back. Obviously his agent has influenced things, but Pogba and Ibra, despite their own unique personalities have actually been pretty tight lipped about transfer dealings. Perhaps not the best examples, but at the very least, speculation seems to happen around them without them engaging the media directly. Regardless, he's been a dick, and I hope there are other prospects for the position that have talent, ambition and genuinely want to be at Everton.

    This is not in reaction to any recent media outbursts, just how I feel about this whole pseudo-saga

    I don't think Mata can really be classed as a prima donna to be fair - seems very quiet and hard working, and is apparently a very nice chap (missus has met him a couple of times)!

    Also if it's £21 million as is being mentioned, that's not really overspending either to my mind - he's absolute class and in his prime. Fellaini was £27 million!

    Disagree; firstly a decent proportion of leave voters were/are xenophobic/racist/bigots. If they'd have all stayed at home the vote would have been remain. No question.

    Not suggesting that all out voters are of that opinion but it's an undeniable fact imo; out won because of them, not because of people like John (though I still blame him :shaking fist:).

    Disagree with your last para also; London, where a large proportion of people with degree level education work, voted in big time.

    I don't think anyone has accused anyone here of racism etc. The point is that only far right parties are celebrating it. At least, that's how I've read it.

    Brave is a bit strong, Romey. I'm glad the people voted and a change is coming, I'm just angry at / scared by the result.

    But, I agree with you that politics brought it upon itself and now there will be massive repercussions. There is a collective fear from a lot of people of what's to come.

    I apologise for getting so emotional about it, and like I've said elsewhere I respect the opinions of those who stuck to their guns and voted the way they felt fit, even if I strongly (perhaps too much) disagree. I just don't think either side made this decision based on any concrete evidence, pretty sure that's my biggest gripe.

    Nothing wrong with wanting to win or him wanting a move. Disrespecting the club, blaming his team mates and the manager for the fact he was walking round going through the motions for the last 10 games because he had "already decided what his next club will be" is disgusting behaviour. Fuck all the fans who pay money week in week out to watch him, fuck all the fans who pin their hopes and dreams on our atar player winning us big games, fuck all the kids who idolise him and kick balls round alleyways or fields with their Lukaku shirts on pretending to be him, fuck them all because there are other beautiful clubs out there for him to fuck over to.
    Big players win biggames, he didn't shop up in the away leg at City he bottled the Utd game missing a penalty and a couple of clear cut chances. Players with the ability he THINKS he has win games like that for their teams. Aguero, Sanchez, Kane, Vardy, Suarez, Martial, Messi, Ronaldo all turn up and be counted when the chips are down , they are big players for big games, Lukaku believes he is this type of player but he's lacking in many aspects to be like this mainly his attitude towards fighting for his TEAM!

    I'm not saying he's shit he clearly isn't but to blame Martinez and his team mates when HE missed the penalty that would have arguably taken us through, he's strolled round half arsed for 4 months and doesn't give a fuck about the fans love for him or the club. Nowhere has he ever said he needs to do it for Everton and the fans it's all about him, his development, his career, his ego him him him he's a selfish self centred prick.

    Desire and a winner?? Don't make me laugh , he's up his own arse and thinks it's all about him, he doesn't have a winning attitude or winning mentality like Messi, Suarez or Ronaldo (amongst others) they give 110% every game, sweat blood and tears, they lay their body on the line and will do anything to make their team succeed.

    As for Jagielka, did you see him throw his facein the way when he was stumbling on his hands and knees as Utd were about to shoot? He scrambled on his hands and knees realised he wasn't going to germt there and literally threw his face in front of the ball to stop it (ok he missed but that's irrelevant) he had injections putting his career on the line to play through that semi with an injury but because he doesn't come out with a load of disrespectful stuff when he's away (always when Lukakus away he does t have you noticed that) he's shite and has no ambition Would you see Lukaku throw himself in frint of a ball and risk hurting himself for his team? He can't even be arsed following a ball across the 6 yard box most of the time.. Jagielka has more determination , passion and cares for the dans more in his fingernail than Lukaku has in his whole body.

    I really do wonder how you perceive things at times Mark.

    If Mourinho walks through the door the entire mentality of the club would change overnight, he is a proven winner, top players want to play for him and I think the likes of a Stones and Lukaku would want to play for him

    If Moshiri is really going to be handing out a £100m transfer kitty we need to get the next managerial position right and bringing in a thoroughbred makes perfect sense to me

    i agree. i'd like to spend big to buy a world class keeper, second striker, creative midfielder, and left winger. figure 20m each position and that's 80m with 20m still to spend of the moshiri kitty.

    I want youth to be a focus but not by throwing them straight in the starting xi more replacing the older squad players with what we've got and then bringing in top quality elsewhere.

    Kenny -> Hibbert
    Davies -> Gibson
    Dowell -> Osman
    Swiss kid -> Pienaar

    We could easily spend £20m on replacing 4 players who have barely kicked a ball between them this season (bar Osman). I'd prefer to put the trust in what we've got and spend big on improving the starting xi.

    Johnsy reacted to StevO in Blue Bill's shiny new stadium at the docks...
    If a two tier Park End was rebuilt 15 yards closer to the park it would be possible to have a bigger Gwladys street stand in the future due to the extra space. It would have no effect on the main stand really as it goes past the pitch anyway.

    Gwladys street could be rebuilt in the same style as the new two tier park end. The current profile of the stand is quite a big footprint that with the extra 15 yards at the front of the stand it could be done.

    Then take a look at buying houses off Bullens road. If it needed to be hurried along then rebuild just the lower tier in the same style as the new ends with a view to build the top tier in the future, with the additional seating at either end it shouldn't be too much of a drop.

    If they really wanted to be forward thinking , buying up all of the houses off Bullens road and give some to the school in exchange for their car park so there is room for the stands. The garage on the corner of Bullens road, I'm sure they could be tempted for a rebuild on part of any new land, building garages can be very cheap now days.

    Goodison road is the only real issue long term. But in the same way it can be done at the ends, if we were doing a phased redevelopment then push the ends 10 yards towards the Bullens to give a bit more room for the main stand. If the other three stands were redeveloped sensibly then you could remove the top balcony and develop the main stand as a single tier stand.

    All offices and player facilities could be in the park end where there is the most space, leaving any other stands just needing fan space.

    Most of that is just from conversations with people who work in construction, not stadium experts. But Elstone himself said that rebuilding the park end could get us to 47,000, for me that is a major jump and should be looked at as more than just a throw away option.

    I'm sure we could build a new stadium for £300m, but what could even £100m or £200m worth of improvements to Goodison park do?

    Let's really think outside the box here. The biggest problem is Goodison Road. So with the idea of moving the offices and player facilities to the park end. How about buying out the buildings facing the stand, build units into a redeveloped stand and rent them to the current tenants of Goodison road? Improved facilities for them, improved stadium for us, nicer for the community and the club.

    I'd rather throw money into GP than somewhere else. As proud as we are of our heritage and our history is love to see us invest in the history once more instead of leaving it behind. Previous owners have left the stadium to rot without a forward plan.
