EFC-Paul got a reaction from StevO in Hatem Ben Arfa
A sports journalist was on talksport the other week talking about him along with other's
It's apparently a rift with Pardew as he's been disillusioned as to why he's been left out once he got back to fitness after the leg break, came back to this pre season overweight etc possibly pushing for a move.
He said he's available for around £1.5m rising to £3m which for me is one of the biggest bargains in world football as on his day he's a class player. I'm sure given a fresh start under a new manager who has a clue what he's doing and knows how to handle his players he could get back to the kind of form that would likely have seen him become a top top player.
He's just the kind of player (once back up to speed and fitness) we are crying out for.

EFC-Paul got a reaction from Lowensda in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
He's coming across brilliantly one of the best interviews I've seen from a footballer he's an intelligent lad for his age and knows what he wants
Absolutely made up well done to the board and Martinez!!
Feel like a kid at Christmas

EFC-Paul reacted to Matt in Press conference called for "significant club announcement" - 4pm
All the more convinced that this was in place but for some reason couldn't sort it in time for the announcement yesterday. Or, it was deliberately held back to today so both got the recognition deserved
Either way, you moaners have egg on your face now

EFC-Paul got a reaction from marcus jones in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
Saw that earlier the lady who was going through the various clubs transfer dealings said that we have offered £27m!
Which if it isn't accepted he would likely join on loan again
Probably nonsense as per but I hope we don't spend £27m on him if there's any truth in it
I rate the lad but with that kind of money we could strengthen massively in a few areas

EFC-Paul reacted to MikeO in Maxime Lestienne
Thought I'd have a look and see what I could find on video of him; unfortunately due to a typing error I substituted the letter "b" for the "t" in his surname.
That's what I told the wife when she walked in unexpectedly anyway .

EFC-Paul got a reaction from Bailey in Roberto Firmino
Without going into detail and a long winded post look at the bigger picture regarding Arsenal in three or four seasons they will be in a very similar boat to Bayern both financially and player wise they will be a financial powerhouse debt free with an abundance of homegrown talent at their disposal whilst the likes of Chelsea and City will be treading thin ice in the transfer market and keeping in line with FFP
They've had a business model in place for years similar to Bayern that will at some point in the near future probably put them at the top of the pecking order here and what may seem like shortcomings now to the likes of us could quite possibly turn out to be a brilliant bit of in the scheme of things short term sacrifice for long term dominance......

They can bring in all the attacking talent they want it won't replace Suarez and it will count for fuck all with that current back four

EFC-Paul reacted to Brett Angel in Summer Transfer Window
Sell borini for 14 mil and buy Remy for 8.5 mil. Some serious business that.

EFC-Paul reacted to Romey 1878 in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
48 hours? No chance. It'll take much longer than that because we're going to present him and Besic together, but naked with only a sock covering their modesty. And those socks are going to take some time to locate.

EFC-Paul reacted to Stuie Hayllor in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
I can't wait for the lad to make his mind up. Whether it's with us or somewhere else it feels like we won't be moving forward in the transfer market until his future is sorted

EFC-Paul got a reaction from MikeO in Difficult one this, but on balance feel the need to post it....

This
People seem to think most of the shite the rags dream up must be true maybe not in Lukaku's case but why do people always question a managers choices or lack of options purely based on what those wollys fabricate.
I do think Lukaku is a target but it doesn't mean that it's our only option I seriously doubt Martinez is daft enough to leave all his eggs in one basket

EFC-Paul reacted to Romey 1878 in Muhamed Besic
And our opinions differ massively on almost every player that we watch week in week out don't they? That's my point. You can only really go on what you see yourself, and if you haven't seen much of him yourself then I wouldn't put too much stock in what they say - you could ask a different three or four and they could say he's brilliant, far too good for the Hungarian league.

EFC-Paul reacted to Steve_E in Tom Cleverley
As I've said before, I'd be pretty happy to get him. I don't think he's going to turn out to be a world class player or anything like that, but I'm almost certain he is going to be a solid player. He's got a real understanding of space and how to make himself available for a pass. Good vision, good passing technique. Not a prime physical specimen, but wiry enough to stand his ground and a low center of gravity helps in a number of different ways. Martinez knows him personally so he can vouch for his character. Another home-grown player with pretty much the ideal age for a signing imo as well. I think a McCarthy-Cleverley-Barkley midfield could fit well together for years to come.

EFC-Paul reacted to StevO in Expectations for next season
European qualification again, and some entertaining football, and some big wins. A trophy and I'd be even happier.

EFC-Paul reacted to duncanmckenzieismagic in Tom Cleverley
I would take almost anybody at the moment because we need the numbers, however I stil remember Cleverleys performance at Goodison when he played on the right for Wigan and he had Leighton Baines in his back pocket all night long so I know there is a very capable player in there somewhere

EFC-Paul reacted to cass1878 in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
I think the truth about Lukaku is he is somewhere in between. He's not as bad as Haf makes out but not as good as others make out either.
We will find out a lot about the bloke in the next few weeks, he could push for a move here and develop as a player while being the main man. Or he could do what he is doing at the moment and believe in his own hype, moving to a "bigger" club and spend a lot of time on the bench.
Everton would be the best place for him right now. I personally think him and us are a perfect fit, we are both moving in the right direction but need development. He has the potential to be a brilliant goal scorer along the lines of Shearer and Cole, not the best technically but they had a knack of scoring goals and it's clear Rom has that too. Technical ability isn't everything in football, granted ideally we would want a player who has everything but we don't have the money to buy a player like that. Especially a striker.

EFC-Paul reacted to Zoo in Tired of being POOR
Brett Angel is the reason that I despise a lot of our fan-base.
What a shower of clueless nob-jockeys. If you channeled all your crying and whinging into singing and shouting on a Saturday then Goodison would be blowing the windows out of people's windows in Perth. It's absolutely embarrassing that a club as big as Everton has so many idiots claiming to support it.
