    ROFLMAO

That is my kind of humour.

As for the Norwich game, Not easy to call the first game of the season. Will we play well? Will Norwich play well? To be honest I would like us to pluck and really stuff a few turkeys. But we will have to wait and see.

The Modern English word folk, derives from Old English folc meaning "common people", "men", "tribe" or "multitude". The Old English noun itself came from Proto-Germanic *fulka which perhaps originally referred to a "host of warriors". Compare Old Norse folk meaning "people" but more so "army" or "detachment", German Gefolge ("retinue"), and Lithuanian pulkas meaning "crowd". The latter is considered to be an early Lithuanian loanword from Germanic origin, cf. Belarusian полк - połkmeaning regiment and German Pulk for a group of persons standing together.
The word became colloquialized (usually in the plural folks) in English in the sense "people", and was considered inelegant by the beginning of the 19th century. It re-entered academic English through the invention of the word folklore in 1846

Two Irishman decide to go fishing but realize when they arrive that they have left their equipment at home.

Paddy however, comes up with an idea.

"Murphy, you hold me by the ankles over the bridge, and when I see a fish, I'll grab it"

So, Murphy hangs him over the side

All of a sudden, Paddy shouts - "Murphy, pull me up quick"

Murphy asks , "Why paddy, have you caught a fish ?"

'No' says Paddy, "There's a fucking train coming"

rubecula reacted to bluenosetoffee in Martinez won't last the season
Why make such a idiotic thread, you say I don't want it to be a "you're not giving him a chance thread" well what do you expect. You're not giving him a chance. Flipping heck there hasn't even been a pre season game yet and you are saying he is not good enough and that he won't last.

Lets look at the differences between Wigan and Everton:
    1) Wigan cannot attract the same players we can.
    2) Wigan defence was weak. Martinez knew that and signed Scharner in the summer transfer window. He kept having a few problems with injuries. They also signed Ramis for 5mil but he got injured half way through the season, January I think and has only come back from injury quite recently. 30th June I think. That is 5 months without his experience. To be honest I don't think they had a lot of money to buy anyone else in January anyway.
    3) Wigan have not got a strong as a team as what we have. Martinez would have loved to of had players like Mirallas, Fellaini, Baines, Jags etc.
    5) You're a pessimist simples.

    Few questions for you memmaclub.
Were you one of the people who were wanting Moyes out?

(Because he didnt win trophies etc, lets face facts here where a football team who can't compete on a finacial scale to the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal and even Liverpool. Where not going to be competing for top 4 football each season. We are close with the squad we have but yes we do need more players and with your comment about signing Alcaraz and Kone what is the problem with that? There is stats out there which show that the team played better and conceeded less when Alcaraz was playing. (Don't have the link but sure someone does)

Kone - 6mil. A bit over priced not going to lie about that but again do you think we could get someone like Pauliniho who has signed for Spurs? No we can't. Kone scored 13 league goals for Wigan last year. Jelavic scored 7, Fellaini scored 12. With Baines, Pienaar and Mirallas cutting in the box, crossing it in then he is bound to score that amount or even more.

Who would you of wanted to manage Everton? (If Martinez wasn't our manager)

By any chance was it Porto manager or Laudrup?
No to the Porto manager as he has had no experience in the PL. Also anyone could have won the league with the players he had at his expence. They didn't exactly win the league like United won the PL was it? It came down to the second to last game where Porto needed to win against Benfica to go ahead. If they drew they wouldn't of won. Benfica made a stupid mistake which cost them the second. Luck.

Laudrup has no ambitions, he will stay at a club and coast his way through until $hit hits the fan, watch what will happen when that does happen and trust me it will happen.

You cannot compare us to Wigan in any way, shape or form, do you honestly think we will do that bad with Martinez that he will be sacked in January?

No disrespect to Wigan fans I have loved the way you have played this year. I think everyone has been the neutral fan and I was cheering you on against Arsenal like a lot of people were but they haven't got the same resources we have simples.

Were you around when Moyes got appointed?

I was and everyone was nervous about this appointment because we had just signed a manager from Preston, pratically a nobody and look how that turned out he transformed our team into a competitive top 10 side even top 5 side.

I am nervous about the new season, heck I am nervous every season when it starts, like a lot of people are, it is part of what being a football fan is, the nerves, the highs and the lows and everything.

Even if we start badly I will still support our team and not want Martinez to be sacked. I mean we have had bad starts to the season before but Martinez will be manager by the end of the season and for more seasons to come. IMWT

Not really taken too much with any of the DC comics in film. Of that genre I think Marvel are actually better, but that is just my own opinion. Glad you enjoyed it.

Because of the following rule: "The Laws stipulate that an own goal cannot be scored directly (i.e. without any other player touching the ball) from a throw-in, free kick (direct or indirect), corner kick, or goal kick. Should the any of these situations occur, a corner kick is instead awarded to the attacking team."

Jonathan Walters displayed his talent for own goals by scoring in his own net direct from a free kick. Correctly, the referee declares it is not a goal and awards a corner to the opposing team.

Support me on what exactly. I've been fighting for things all my fucking life. Have a bit of sense before getting your panties in a bunch. Innocent enough quiz, a worthwhile endeavor, but because of the name involved people decide not to participate. I thought in retrospect was it even worth going ahead with this venture but what's done is done. It was only a bit of fun to pass the time, Just could have done with a bit more involvement that's all

Mr R you have three wrong answers incidentally, but thanks for participating

100% Correct. MLS will let top players leave, but they are not in the business of giving top players away. The league(not individual teams) own each contract in MLS; even the designated players that are not in the wage cap. It is not rocket science. Most clubs(MLS clubs included) have the ambition of keeping top players, and young players in order to improve as a club, or in MLS's case to improve the quality of the league while not breaking the budget; which is something MLS is always dealing with.

Tennis, see snooker (now), indoor bowls, swimming, golf, badminton etc, and anything else worthy of inclusion - all boring, banal mundane sports and activities.

Some silly individuals leaping around in front of an equally boring mundane audience with irritating shouts and outbursts and hitting a stupid little ball over a net and everyone clapping like performing seals, and the final, and the winner gets a trophy from an obligatory obscure member of the 'royal' family - and leather faced Sue Barker - and then it's all over for another year. Lot of dull fucking activities for sure.

I used to like it when they had those kids at the side of play and at the sight of one dark cloud or a spot or drizzle, everyone would shit themselves and race out with big plastic covers and sheets and general mayhem ensued. But we don't see that now as they've introduced retractable roofs, at least on the main court.

Whatever occurs now, won't be watching. Connors, McEnroe, Borg were decent names that generated some mild excitement, but those days are long beyond.

Strictly, this is the most correct answer. Nowhere in the original question is there any requirement that the game must continue until all balls are potted. Indeed, many of the games we watch on TV end when a player throws in the towel. So, strictly speaking, the correct answer to the question is one point.

That is, the government have to make sure soldiers are safe at work :dont know:. Just keep them inside their barracks then, that'd work.

I feel for families of servicemen who die for sure, but it's an occupational hazard that you're aware of when you sign up isn't it?

Imagine if the family of every soldier who died in WW1 & 2 had had this right....in fact many of them would've had a far better case as they were conscripted rather than volunteering.

Actually WW1 killed my grandfather (not at the time but slowly and painfully over the following years)....think I'll sue retrospectively; does anyone have Injury Lawyers for You's number?
