Thanks for the recap. Cuco played RB whereas Davies played RWB. There is a big difference, much more defensive responsibility at RB. CuCo is crap but the point is the games aren't comparable. All we know is that Davies can cover the RWB position against a crap side that have no real attacking intent. We know Holgate can play RWB and RB against Premiership teams. We also know Cuco is terrible and couldn't play hopscotch In my opinion, against Stoke Davies should be playing in midfield alongside Schneiderlin and Klaasen. Thats where he is best and is good enough to start in that position.

Has anyone seen much of Renato Sanchez recently? Always thought he was the ideal type for the preminder in that he is strong, quick and good on the ball but it seems to have gone quiet? Liverpool have been linked so I'm guessing he hasn't made an impact in Germany?

SSN showed a highlight from the game where he set up a disallowed goal. From a short corner he dinked the ball over the head of the onrushing defender to his teammate who smashed into the top corner. Shame he was offside as it was a great goal!

Definitely. Add Sevilla to the mix as well. It's clearly a lot less competitive than the premier league but France is a step down again. Monaco have inky come back out of the doldrums in the last year as well and if all their players leave which is looking possible then they will be back there next season.

Suarez isn't very good on the wing or at full back. Paris will want their money for NeyMar back too! At a certain level I agree with you but in the PL against potential world class players you can't get away without playing specialist players in specialist positions. Some can do a job for a few games, but put the likes of Hazard up against a midfielder at RB and they will eat them alive.

I'm not sure where I would playing. Not sure he is bulky enough for CB, he was outstrengthened by a winger yesterday. Definitely isn't a midfielder either. Unfortunately I think others have or will develop past him.

It's massively egotistical and he doesn't strike me as a leader. He is going to a weak league where other than beating Monaco, the whole season is built around the CL.

Dont get me wrong I know the issues behind each point are extremely complicated but the truth is that on the majority of things each side will want more or less the same thing. Logistically, two years isnt enough but 10 years isnt going to be enough to get the basics sorted if they carry on like they are now.

I don't think you will find too many managers not doing a similar thing. Simple truth is Martinez had better players than McGeady and had to keep McGeady sweet which it sounds like he did pretty well. You can see how certain players think though when he talking about how well he played. Assists dont mean you had a good game. He was shite, he should have never have been signed and bar the odd 2 mins of class that he can produce a game, the other 88 mins are way below Premiership quality.

I think the same. Ruined West Ham last year and Soton for the first half of the season the year before. Theoretically it should be of benefit because we should be sharper but it stops us planning a proper summer tour and the U20/21 world cup has meant players have come back late. I guess we will see how we get on in the coming weeks.

I imagine we will make a few changes for this. I doubt Rooney, Klaasen, Schneiderlin, Baines or Williams will start. I wouldnt expect more than 45 mins from Sandro either. I hope we get to see DCL start up front, 90 mins for Kenny and Lookman too.

Paying £200mil for 1 player and paying them half a mil a week is a joke and it's bad for the game. Neymar has gone for the money and to be the best player in the team. Everything that is wrong about modern day football.

I thought he did well last night, linked well with Rooney. Clearly not the player he was but he isn't the issue. I thought he was on par with Davies but because the latter is the young lad he has been given rave reviews and Motm.

I get that but that didn't happen really today. They almost never counter attacked down the wing.
