I’d have been surprised if we’d got our money back on him if he hadn’t had his injury, I’d be absolutely flabbergasted if we got anywhere near it now.

That’d be amazing but doubt it’d happen.

I would rather get the £12 mill and invest it and spend the wages elsewhere.

I like my centre backs to be composed and in control and he is neither.
I don't think he is a bad player but at the same time I have never been convinced.

Utter, utter wank. Still cannot believe we signed him.

Hoping we can sell him and recover at least a little tiny bit of the money we wasted on this guy.  After 6 seasons in the EPL (4 w/ Palace and 2 w/ us) he has only managed 11 league goals. ONLY 11.  In the 15 games he featured in this season for us he managed 1 goal and zero assists. (only 1 goal last season too)
If Lookman was given his spot permanently, he would fly by him in terms of goals. No question.
Palace bought Bolasie for 600k and got us to take him for 29 mil.
Let us hope this summer we have more sense in terms of transfers.

Steve_E got a reaction from holystove in Would you take David Moyes back at Everton?
He prefers Witsel not just over Nainggolan, but over Dembélé as well. don't like his infatuation with five at the back (and making Carrasco into a left wing back) either. Mainly because it means that he's never going to play what (to me at least) is so obviously the best midfield we can field: Dembélé, Nainggolan, De Bruyne.
Don't think Martinez nor Moyes is a good idea for Everton.

Barkley will be off as soon as he is fit, Coleman an Bolasie are both coming back from serious injuries so we don’t know how long it will take or even if they will get back to their best, and Mori is a liability anyway. So I wouldn’t put too much faith in the cavalry arriving to save the day

It really, really isn't a top 8 squad. Forget reputations, transfer fees, salaries - just watch us play. And it has become a very hard job. How to turn around a massive fuck up with an overrated, dispirited squad with major holes in key positions

Much of yesterday was no different to what Koeman did - picking a slow team that was all wrong. And it showed because we were shite for most of the game, just launching the ball aimlessly, lacking energy, any sort of plan, creativity was nowhere.
Somehow we dug ourselves out of it, but I've nothing to suggest Unsworth could actually improve us. I like him, I think he's a good man, but I don't want him to get the job permanently and I hope the result of yesterday doesn't cloud the decision-makers judgement.

It' like Rom pointed out in another thread, there are players who are being called as much needed despite not really doing much for a few years...Besic, Mirallas, McCarthy, Mori...

Not sure a 'better' manager can solve the problems,  same players to work with (up to January).  Toro Rosso could  pay multi-millions to get Hamilton to drive for them but they wouldn't win any races - new man, same car.

Bloody hell is that how bad it is. Players need to look at themselves, not just the manager.

Davies does all of the same things wrong that Gana does - chases the ball and more often than not gets nowhere near and they waltz around him like he’s not there - but there’s not a peep from anyone.
The fact is both were utter fucking shite yesterday.

    Just some bullet point views.

    - Last year Lukaku and Barkley covered some real issues in the team, that a lot of our players aren't good enough (for where we want to be).
    - Recruitment this year was completely at. Needed a striker (or 2) without doubt. Needed a long term successor to Baines. Needed a quality right back. Needed pace/wingers. We got NONE.
    - Genuinely feel that Walsh has evaded most of the abuse he should have had.
    - Baines is passed it.
    - Jags is passed it.
    - Williams is woeful and should not be near a team wanting to do better than survive relegation. He was passed it the minute he arrived.
    - Our kids are being hung out to dry by their older peers. They're also (understandably) not yet ready to grab games by the scruff.
    - Our squad is filled with bang average and some cases, poor footballers.
    - Sig is and will never be worth £45m.
    - Sandro is a confidence  (fair weather) player and if the team don't start winning, he'll be as useful as a chocolate teapot.
    - Klaassen I fear, we've bought an absolute dud, who can and will have a great career on the continent but it won't be in the Premier League.
    - Rooney has been a poisoned chalice. Affected the shape. Wonders too much. Can't seem to have the simplest things go right for him. Pretty sure his recent exploits has messed with his brain.
    - The sheer amount of "leaders" we have equates to fuck all when they're wet as a cum riddled tissue.
    - Rhino won't install the confidence many hope.
    - We are NOT set up to play the current meta of premier league football.
    - Players who were the bright sparks of our season last year (Gana and Morgan) have been replaced by the Nerdlucks from Space Jam, because their ability has just disintegrated.
    - I do fear our squad could be in a fight for survival.
    - No "decent" manager is going to touch us in our current state.
    - I'm expecting nothing to change until Feb.
    - I'm 99% there's some high profile sacking on the horizon at board level.

Fact is, it was far too easy for Leicester in the 2nd half. We were completely toothless. Of course we dominated the 2nd half - they allowed this by sitting back and trying to catch us on the counter.
I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight with the thought of that’s what our team looks like after ‘investing’ £150m... clearly not Unsworth’s fault but a massive task for whoever succeeds Koeman.

It’s absolutely criminal that we’ve left it so that he is our main striker.
I feel for him, he’s giving his all but it’s just not good enough and he shouldn’t be under the sort of pressure we’ve placed him under.

We are in a mess, I never do like us signing players over 30 but was willing to give Rooney a chance to show me a reason why we did sign him.
So short of pace, underhit passes, and those that are hit properly usually go to the apposing players, plays so deep he's usually behind the CDMs.
Time to blood in Siggy, Klaasen, Sandro and Vlasic, it's not working for the kids or Rooney.

Koeman needed to get a quick, change of pace Willian/Hazard type of player rather than three slow players for the same position in Rooney, Sigurdsson and Klaassen.
