There is absolutely no way we will sign Draxler this coming window or any window after that. Anyone thinking we will needs locking up in an asylum.

apparently they've become a massive company in the space of 2-3 years, it's how short a time and their supposed growth in that timeframe that's my concern

He probably expected the ball to go straight in it looked like it was going to, but not his fault Stekelenburg had a brain fart!

He made some really important interceptions yesterday and is clearly quicker over ground than Jags I'd stick with him.

Gana has already got 156 votes in total, leader at the end of the season on here normally has around 200 I think; he's going to smash it at this rate. What a buy!

First off look at Barkley's game and when it looks best.... he looks far better when he is deeper with the ball - most will agree with me on this. Lack of trust in ball retention is the only reason he's not deep.

The reason he looks offensively better deeper is because there are permutations for him when he has the ball. There is more shape changing in the picture in front of him... there will be players to choose from - pockets to exploit. Essentially it's a more stimulating outlook for his creativity.

Now when he is in the number 10 position why is he so void of options and supposedly poor with his decisions? It's because he has very little to choose from.

It's all very well saying Rom makes a run and points to where he wants it... it's 9/10 times not a doable pass. Lukakus movement is absolutely shocking and one dimensionally lazy. It's like a primary school team who has a quick lad up front and all he does is run in straight lines hoping that a hoof over the top will allow him to win a range either and get a one on one with the keeper. This is premier league football - defences work hard on two banks of 4 and employ a defender mid to cut that out. A set up to deny Rom the through ball option.

Last week barkley picked up the ball with a marker approaching him - hit a pass to Rom who had a defender behind him and ran for the give and go - it would have taken 2 defenders out the game. Lukaku interpreted it as a through ball... messed it up and blamed barkley. Ross rightly tore into him - it was a fundamental move that our striker ballsed up because all he thinks about is "get the ball through on goal".

He doesn't move intelligently at all. At the euros the pundits picked up on this. Shearer and refknapp have said before now on other occasions that he isolates himself.

Simply put - carraghers criticism and observations are spot on.

Up till this people had argued that he does work hard... facts have proved that he doesn't. It's not like there is a small margin... the gaps are huge.

I've said before now that he needs to lose some bulk - i still say that now.

Watching Barkley actually hurts at the moment, and I feel bad for him. You can see the fear in his play and it's not nice to see. The lad is clearly talented, he's got more talent than the likes of Henderson for example, but for whatever reason he can't apply that immense talent whereas others with lesser talent can.

I am desperate for him to succeed here and I truly hope we don't ever come to a point where we're forced to give up on him.

Koeman wants us to press from the front..... who is there to put pressure on Rom to do that?

Naismith was the only player we had who would put in that type of work - now we don't have anyone. I'd give the kid a chance.

I just don't think he's that good tbh. His crossing is mostly miss, he seems to have lost some pace, he's thick as pig shit, he has massive lapses in concentration when it comes to defending, and for the past year or so he's been hesitant in attack for the most part. he hardly runs at players any more.

If we sold him for £20m I'd see it as a good deal.

Think you're getting well ahead of yourself mate. Whilst we did ok yesterday we never tested their back four. Looked good at Southampton looked piss poor against Watford. Manager making mind boggling substitutions - either wrong personel or far too late. We've got a long way to go if we think we'll get in the top 6. Can't see it yet. If we get a marquee signing maybe that will change.

I can't help feeling that Mirallas should get a chance upfront, some of his best games as a professional were playing upfront for Olympiakos.

We're going the exact same place we did last season if today is anything to go by. Nothing different to last season.

I totally agree , I cant ever remember a more shambolic pre-season in all the years Ive followed Everton and it certainly played a part in the first few games of the season. It was obvious the players were not fit enough when we surrendered leads late on to Leicester and Arsenal and I don't think we have ever recovered from that sluggish start

If we survive this year I would give him the summer to sort this shit out but if we are still playing this boring sideways shite and results haven't improved dramatically come October then I think he has to go

Moyes got slaughtered for playing Barkley out wide, but Roberto escapes much of that criticism. Not from me, he's an idiot for persisting with it. It's clear as fucking day how wrong it is.

I can now see why Besic was only £4 million. He will cost us in so many games. His overall game is very good but his awareness around him is dreadful. And that's the most important thing he needs cause where he plays.

The problem is we've spent £28m on him and he's all we've got at the moment. So I'll say again.... The only person you can blame here is Martinez?.....

One of our major weak links this season is Roberto Martinez I reckon. As big a weak link as the defence has been.
