I think this post highlights part of your issue. You go overboard with the criticism to the point you corner yourself then have to scrap to get out. 
I doubt many would say he lacks bottle. The bloke is titchy, built like a racing snake, yet will tackle anything that moves. He repeatedly puts on more KM per game than most players so is hardly lacking in effort. Let's just say 'etc'!
I've honestly never noticed him hiding from the ball?
I do tend to take in what people's opinions on here are regarding players, and look out for them in a game, but your stuff with Gana, I don't see a lot if it. I get the sideways passing thing but I've always seen this as what those guys do to keep possession and keep the ball moving.
All opinions I guess.

Strange how you play a talented player in his natural position and he starts performing much better.

With the way he is being asked to play, I doubt he'll be a 20 goals a season striker BUT, if his performances keep on, he's going to prove valuable in helping the team score more.
He keeps the defenders busy and seems to either look to hold up the ball or go out wide to receive the ball...both seem to allow our other attacking players more space centrally.

No. Many people in the game and fans see him the same way.
As always in life, a minority take a different view and shout about it at every opportunity.

Nope, Palfy does too; it's just everyone else who disagrees (to varying extents).
For four managers now he's been one of the first names on the team-sheet, does that not make you think?

I give credit where it's due, even voted Jagielka motm on occasion. 
For me Gana doesn't do the basics. He plays detrimental to the flow. He hides from the ball making it that much harder going forward, surely I'm not the only one to notice that? People defend him saying he's a sitter but it's rare he plays as the DM he's the cm the one who's meant to turn the ball over yet its rare he even turns forward with the ball and rare he's involved in attacks as he gets on poor positions that no one can pass to him in or if they can he's in a position where his only option is then to play it backwards. Look at the difference when McCarthy come in, night and day. Both of them play the same position but one has a football brain and conviction. 
I find it strange more aren't on Gana's back considering his lack of bottle. Schneiderlin gets abuse all the time for not putting enough effort in yet there's so many goals were you just see Gana half arsedly jogging back. 

Sorry I just couldn't resist, you did indeed acknowledge (on occasion) when he had a good game while the Gana hatred is incomprehensible to me.

Ah hem.... I never let my annoyance of the lads hype, lack of loyalty to us and general poor levels of standard footballing ability get in the way of the fact that he was a very good finisher and athlete.   My opinions of him stand up this very day- as showcased today for the mancs where he looks like he's got very cosy and complacent after 1 year. 
I always want Everton to do well but when you watch a player serve his own interests before the team makes it very difficult indeed to feel complete euphoria. Trying to steal goals off players - not celebrating other players goals, sulking .... fucks me off. 
The shite about gana is off the scale - what he does do well doesn't even get recognised. 

Well one pass does make it a fact really. If he wasn’t capable of it, he wouldn’t be able to make it.
But in a five minute highlight video he made one pass that resulted in a goal. We only scored two goals in the whole match. But that video also shows that Ganas one pass, is more than 75% of the team.
But as you actually watched the match... you also know full well that he made several forward passes that started attacking moves. 
Again, just because you choose to ignore it, doesnt make you right. People saw with their own eyes that he was involved a lot in their final third. Telling them it didn’t happen is.... well I think you know 😉
Edit: just watched the highlights again, a saw him also shoot.... only once, and it was saved.but also noticed he was only one of three to shoot in that video.... which means everyone else should be sold as no ones capable..... the mind boggles haha

I think it's fair enough to be critical but it's a different level to constantly lambast and blame.
If everyone does there job, Gana can concentrate on his instead of having to run all over to plug holes.
And, yeah, competition for places. Never a bad thing. The best will always step up a level.

The lad is fighting for his place. He’s heard Marco talking about playing Morgan in there on his own, he’s showing he needs to be in there. More players fighting for their place the better. 

Our Pete does tend to argue that black is white, so it kind of makes sense that he may get it mixed up.

He has it in his locker obviously, as it was his ball. That’s fact. You choose not to see it, but he plays forward balls all the time, linking defence and attack.

Last season there was a tactical thing on Soccer AM showing how the press works. The forward (or central) players are only pressing to push the ball out wide, so the wingers can attempt to win the ball. With players like Walcott and Richalison out wide we could do really well with this. Gylfi and Tosun just need to apply a little pressure, which they both did extremely well today and will have the bruises to show it.
