I think we can be fairly certain that Everton weren't the only club in for Sandro. Once the clause is triggered, it's up to the player where they would like to sign. He could've stayed at Malaga if he wanted to. He could've gone to any club that met the release clause. So, it would appear that we offered him the best combination of things that he was looking for, whether that means wages, opportunities, career prospects, concubines, etc.

Because if someone bid over the release clause they would literally be throwing their money away, as a bid of 6ish is guaranteed to be accepted. I guess it's then up to the player to choose where he wants to go, if multiple teams trigger the release clause.

As much as MON is being a prick about this, McCarthy has to take some responsibility too. As much as playing for your country is hard to pass up on, he needs to remember who pays his substantial wages.

Not been home long, would have taken a point before the game but feel we should have had all 3! Moss really is a shit ref, thought you controlled most of the 1st half apart from a 10-15 spell we worked a bit harder, 2nd half I think we pretty much bossed apart from the last 10 mins where we seemed to sit back and let you have the ball, pretty nervy at the end, not a bad turnout from us for a Friday night (which has to be the suckiest time & day to play) but pleased with out position at this point, did Bolasie try to hard or did we get to him I wonder.
anyway lets see what happens at our place later in the season.

I became a toffee when I came to Liverpool to see my friends in 2004. Some where Liverpool fans, some Everton (and one Tranmere) but the Everton blokes were nicer blokes so they took me to Everton vs Middlesbrough in September 2004. Everton won 1-0. I have been an Evertonian since that day.

Five years ago I moved from my home country Australia to Hong Kong. I recently found out about the Everton supporters team and have recently joined. It was a great honour to play my first competitive match playing wearing the famous Everton shirt. Unfortunately we lost 2-1 to Spurs but loved the experience of wearing the badge.

The team was very respectful wearing black arm bands and holding a minutes silent for the young lady and fan who recently passed on.

I made a short video highlights of my touches (including my two bad ones!) in this video. We are hoping for a good season ahead!
