I'd prefer him to stay here an play. As we have a few striker but most are injury prone. sorry if its wrong forum, but wasn't sure were to put it Edited August 4, 2009 by Adpom
StevO
id be happy to see him go out on loan, if he'll play all the time. he needs to play more football
troy8
Give them Anichebe instead.
thehelmet
I think Moyes wants to ease him back in really gently this time, I can't see him giving up control and risk another club rushing him back from injury or playing him half-injured if we want to keep him longterm. If there's a buy-clause tagged on I guess it'd be more likely, if we got some money up front.
Memmaclub
As much as I want vaughn to come good I actually think vic has shown more in terms of his contribution if we coul get 4 mil for vaughn I would happily let him go
thehelmet
I watched one of Nigeria's olympic games, last summer I think it was, and Vic looked great. Strong on the ball and great hold up play and even some dribbles but he couldn't get the ball into the net even with an open goal. In the leauge he's often looked a bit lazy, something that I've never seen from Vaughan. I'd just like to see him injury-free for a season before passing any judgement on whether to let him go.. Vaughan always looks far to excited when hes on the pitch..... Is that a good thing or not?.... I think because of it he lacks composure and sometimes can just go chasing the ball...... I don't like Vic but Id agree he has offered more than Vaughan..... people suggesting that Vaughan can provide adequate attacking cover are way wide of the mark IMO. Vaughan's reputation is still based on potential where as Vic has at least performed on a few occasions.... I really don't rate Anichibe at all and Id still put him in front of Vaughan.... lets hope he can prove me wrong..
thehelmet
Vaughan always looks far to excited when hes on the pitch..... Is that a good thing or not?.... I think because of it he lacks composure and sometimes can just go chasing the ball...... I think most people are spot on there.. Laden with injury trouble he looks to feel the pressure of having to prove himself from the go, poor decisions due to what I suppose is stress and a desire to prove himself. He looks like he's overworking every ball, chasing down every defender even when it looks like we're not supposed to be closing down. He's got great pace and work rate but with his injure proneness it looks like he'll never get a chance to settle into the pace of the game and team.. Everton_Worshiper
TBH a season of regular football on loan might do him good and gives us a chance to throw Agard/Baxter in at the deep end.
scouse
Cant see this one happening as peter said above his injury record means Moyes will want to watch him closely.
lamaison
Dont think at the moment we have the squad to let him go. Think things may be different in January if we have no injuries and he may then go out on loan. Until then think Stoke will be dreaming that he did go but we will have him as an option
Finn balor
Loan deal would have been ideal 18 months ago but we wouldnt risk an injury prone player with medical staff that dont know him better than our staff. This season is make or break.
Blue 250
Vaughan and Anichebe both have potential, Moyes will want to be the one to exploit that. There will be chances this season for the two lads, not many maybe, but enough to show which direction they are heading. We go into the season with Saha, who will only manage 1/3 of the games ,your body doesn't pick up less injuries with age!The Yak is back from a long lay off...God knows how that will effect him, and then Jo, who has looked sharp in the friendlies but wasn't that great last season. So I can see Moyes wanting both of the lads ready and waiting.
GMONEYone
If we had a bigger squad then yes let him go out on loan but as it is I want to keep him. I'm a big fan of the kid especially his passion ( even though i do agree with some on here about him "chasing lost causes" and "putting himself into tackles that cause injuries") However I do think he would develop a hell of better/quicker with 15 games this season under moyes rather than 38 games under "long ball/long throw" stoke style of play!!! If he goes anywhere I would prefer him to go to Preston, as they play some good football and irvine knows all about his strengths and how to use the lad. rubecula
Unfortunately, as far as we know, Preston have not asked to borrow him.

jamiemaher85
Good spot. I'd prefer us to loan him out and see how he does with a season of regular football, but I guess £6m aint a bad price for a player who has only managed a handful of games for the club nd scored a measly 6 goals in 5 years. Anto-EFC
I think if Vaughan gets another big injury, he'll go... so much potential but not enough good luck. If he just had 2-3 seasons without an injury, i think he would be a top class forward.
Lowensda
i'd take £6m. i think he wil prosper at a lower level, he's been very very unlucky with injuries. a new start may save his career!
CraccerC
I'd be reluctant to sell because he's got loads of potential but if he picks up another injury...6 million is 6 million.
CaptainFerguson10
I'll sell him for 4 million. After his last injury he hasn't looked anywhere near his best, and I fear will never again. Potential is only good if one fulfills it, and Vaughan is still yet to prove himself.
Sprooly
i say lets loan out the young lad first
Everton_Worshiper
If Stoke want him for £6m then we should IMO sell him. I am a big Vaughan fan but £6m would be good business.

I'll second that. £6million is a lot for a player who has done absolutely nothing for us yet.
StevO
though £6m is a good price,id fear we would be losing a good talent. id rather see how he can do with us after a full season fit.

Romey 1878
Linked with Newcastle on loan today. Part of a deal to bring Steven Taylor here? I'd be happy with that.
CaptainFerguson10
Linked with Newcastle on loan today. Part of a deal to bring Steven Taylor here? I'd be happy with that. Clutching at straws, if John Heitinga signs that will end our interest in Taylor. Vaughan is over-rated in my opinion, sell him and invest in other areas of the team like the middle. Ian C
I think a championship loan spell could do wonders for Vaughan. People need to realise Saha will be pretty old next season and Jo will probably be gone back to Man City. We'll need a young back-up with quality, and vaughany's got the potential. I think he just needs a run of games somewhere.
CaptainFerguson10
I think people need to realise Vaughan goal to game ratio is poor, and isn't developing into what was promised. Time to cut the emotional tie and sell while people are interested and have cash to spend.
