The idea of a Chinese buyout is terrifying. I can see it now it will be just like trade with China. We will sell 2 first team players to a Chinese top division club and get one "hot prospect" back that will turn out to not even play football, but he will come to study to be the the clubs bew doctor. Then they will stop giving the players gatorade in favor of a cheaper Chinese product laced with lead.

He doesn't seem to get much love on this board, but I think he is an amazing athlete, with good enough skills. Maybe not 1st choice, but IF he improves he could play his way into Englands XI for the current and next World Cup cycle. I think Moyes has figured out the whole homegrown player registration system. Develop reserve players, and register them to fill the quota, hope you get a few who are real difference makers and then import your 1st team because they are cheaper. Look at Adam Johnson. He hasnt accomplished near what Mirallas has, and his rumored price is double what Mirallas rumored price is. Thats crazy. Look at the going rate for accomplished Championship, and League 1 strikers. Prices are ridiculous.

Hes not really a clinical finisher. He has been fantastic for Fulham the last 2 years, but if true number 9's are compared to engineers; Clint is more like a maintenance worker. He doesnt have any great attributes, but is above average at everything. That being said he is fantastic in our national team because we lack class, but he wouldn't be able to provide in the same manner for Everton. I dont think he would play poorly for us, and at this moment is the best American footballer, but I dont think he would even be a 10 goal player, more like 6 or 7. That combined with him being on the wrong side of thirty I would only want him on a free, and short term deal.

Im not a hater, but I dont think he represents good value for money. That being said your description of him is how I rate 90% of all strikers, and 98% of all wingers. Having pace, and having pace while dribbling are not the same thing.

After all the talk about how much we sold and brought him for has gone down. it all boils down to one question.

My opinion is NO!
I watched the last match he played for us and how he broke down when asked about coming back. I honestly believed in the guy that day and still do. i love players who would bleed to play for us and after his mistake i feel that he would.
If he turned out not being as good i wouldnt even knock him for that. Any player that wants to play for us deserves support.
I want to see us move forward but not at the expense of our history.
 
Come on Peanuts, show it was the correct desicion.

It wont end up being THAT large of a pay cut, if any. He will make up the differance because he will hit all of those appearance bonuses he wouldnt have had at Spurs. If we get 2-3 good seasons out of him it will be worth it.

I could never agree with this statement. Not only was Arteta one of the finest mids in the world, which Peanuts was not , is not, nor ever will be, but Like Romey said we could not have afforded 2 players at those wages. I would imagine the only reason we can now is that our wage bill is down from what it was even last term.
 
All in all I hope Stevie P succeeds because if he plays well the whole team plays well, and what I care most about is winning.

Barton is undoubtedly a quality footballer, but he is a sociopath. I remember after that shite against city he tried to defend his actionson twitter, and it was only after he was punished he acknowlged any wrong doing which I would assume was a condition of his punishment either by the FA or QPR. Those are not the actions of a immature 29 yr old. Those are the actions of a person who is off their meds.

In a nutshell let him rot on the Spurs bench. He left us. Since we appear to have money use it to pay compensation for Hoillett or something similar.

I saw very little flow for United last season, and for a couple of seasons before that tbh.
 
My point was that Baines is a poor defender in all honesty and needs someone in front of him that will give him the freedom to go forward. He won't get that at United and we've seen how he looks for England when that's the case (in all honesty he's looked a nothing player for England).

I get your point, but he will want a decent wage and over a year will cost us 1m at least, nevermind the signing on fee. If he is shit, would we then be able to sell him on at a profit (covering wages + signing on fee)? Im not so sure....
