Kant reacted to Hafnia in Gerard Deulofeu
Over reaction alert. Some of you were raving about him... He's a kid, the way Barkley, stones and other young potentially world class players are.

He has got all the tools to be awesome, now just let him be the age he is, I recall only too well ronaldo having matches like this when he was a kid.

The exception to the rule is lukaku, he just hasn't got what is needed, awful touch, poor feet, yes when his man stands off him he can look effective, if they get stuck into him he is shite.

Kant got a reaction from Matt in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
He may not improve a lot more technically but he will improve, and the most important factor for strikers is the experience.
I would encourage you to see the performances of "the stars of today" when they were 18. Most of them were quite poor.

Some goalscorers were plain awful -a clear example: Higuain (5 goal season and booed, Real Madrid paid €20M when he was 17 and unproven)- other were only decent and some peaked early in their careers.

Lukaku can improve, he must learn how to use his huge body to outpower opponents, how to get involved into play and how to get into the right positions at the right time, etc.
No one can't predict if he will be the next Drogba, but we can remember that Drogba was not that great in the early stages of his career. Negredo (another powerful striker) couldn't get a game when he was 20 as he was technically raw.

I would say he's surprised me with the use and improvement of his weak foot this year and the first month he couldn't play more than 60 min per game. All in all, I wouldn't doubt for 12M, I would pay 20M only if a) there is no other option and the rest of the squad can be strengthen as well.

I have not seen him this year but last year he was very good in a poor Wigan side. Some players tear it up in the lower leagues then fail to replicate their form in the PL, some others fail in the lower leagues and do well in the PL (although I must admit it's unfrequent).

Kant got a reaction from Matt in Plans for Premier League 'B' teams
I totally agree to allow teams to enter a "B" team and let the competition sort them out. The best teams will get higher in the leagues, but then once a good player appears if the first team calls him up, they'll weaken the "B" team and they'll fight to avoid relegation.

Example: Real Madrid "B" last year had Jesé Rodriguez and Morata, they've both been promoted to the first squad, and the B team is struggling to stay in Segunda Division.

The lifecycle of a B team, and the biggest teams can stop loaning every youngster to give them playing time, they'll have a "B" team playing in a lower division with that purpose. For example: it's not the same for Barcelona to have kids playing their complex system in the Barcelona B, than to loan them to QPR.

Other teams in Spain never get that high (the fourth and fifth divisions are plagued of "B" and "C" teams). But one scenario must be remembered: If the first team gets relegated, then the "B" team that is in the immediate lower division gets relegated too, they can't play in the same league. Recent case: Villarreal and Villarreal "B".

Scout and sign talent, then it will sort itself out. Injuries, versatiliy, Baines ageing (potential long term replacement), Baines still able to perform and teach him a thing or two about how to become a great LB in the PL...

I would hate it if Martinez does not sign the best young players available identified by the scout team because the team has the position already covered.

I still like him, however Swansea bought him for £12-14m and that was what they valued him at before he scored 15 goals in the PL. I don't think we're gonna be able to afford him now.

Accumulated fatigue? I can't remember another game plagued with silly mistakes like this one. No one played well, and Southampton didn't even need to score to win this game.

Kant got a reaction from Lowensda in Dream Team - Future edition*
Although I believe the FM database is quite accurate to filter or gather some ideas, I will only upload videos about the players I know.
Most of the players will be from my country, obviously, or playing in Spain.

Jesé Rodriguez (1993) - Spain - Real Madrid - FW
At the moment he looks like a more polished (at his age) a copy of C. Ronaldo. He does not have the aerial ability Ronaldo developed, but he is far more intelligent and passes way better. Speed wise they are quite similar.
Before he tore his ACL in the QF of the Champions League, Bale and him were sharing the RWF spot. He looks like a future star.

    Gerard Deulofeu (1994) - Spain - Everton - FW
In the U-20 of Spain him and Jesé played together. Both are raw but the glimpses of potential are there. They are the future forwards of Spain.

    Oliver Torres (1994) - Spain - Villarreal CF (on-loan) - Atlético Madrid - CM
Very young CM, he was a bright prospect since he was 17 but Atlético started a winning cycle and that usually means he had to leave for first team football, although Simeone was already using him as a sub. Great close control of the ball and ability, he needs to improve his tactical knowledge and he needs to start playing in his natural position (CM in a 4-3-3 formation). Currently he is playing as a right midfielder, since in Villarreal they play 4-4-2 and he is not strong enough nor tactically good enough to be a centre mid.

    Thibault Courtois (1992) - Belgium - Atlético Madrid (on-loan) - Chelsea CF - GK
One of the best keepers in the world. I would dare to say that he's at the same level as Casillas and Valdés, one of the key players at Atlético. While I can understand why Mourinho prefers Cech to him (Cech knows Mourinho, his preferences, a key man in the dressing room, etc), Courtois is better than him. He still makes the occassional mistake, but he is extremely young.

Most of the players are already known and have been snapped by top clubs:
Neymar da Silva (1992) - Brazil - FC Barcelona - FW
    Paul Pogba (1993) - France - Juventus - CM
Raphael Varane (1993) - France - Real Madrid CF - CB
    Julian Draxler - Germany - Schalke 04 - SM
Sterling, Lucas Moura, El Shaarawy, Oxlade - Chamberlain, etc.

My top 5 U-22: Courtois, Varane, Pogba, Sterling and Neymar.
All of them are, at the moment, starters and important members of the team (except Varane, he's had a terrible year with an injury in his knee that could make him the new Ledley King).

At first I thought oh hell no. But I've warmed to the idea. RM would re-ignite his career and get him confident and playing again. For 4m or less he would be a squad player and would be good cover. Plus if RM can get him to achieve his potential, then all the more reason to grab him. At worst he's osman part 2, and at least he's got some legs.

Monaco spent a fortune on this young man. He has played in precisely one game for us, scoring the first goal. That was his first game ever in the BPL and first played with an English team. Despite what some of the world's best coaches and scouts think, no matter that he's played only 90 minutes for Everton, some are willing to write him off. What a joke!

Kant got a reaction from Matt in Gerard Deulofeu
With Mirallas out for the season, maybe it's time to let Deulofeu play in the left wing, to see if he can do his dribbles with a real outcome, like Robben.

He's been poor recently, but the left wing might actually suit him better, considering that all he's doing lately is dribble to the right, then blast it without any angle or cross aimlessly.

Baines will always be reliable in the left side to provide width and to cross accurately, therefore a player like Deulofeu cutting in can open spaces for Baines.

Don't ask me why i'm even saying this as i'm not a big fan of Cleverly but a part of me would like to sign him but Buttner is poor always seemed like a headless chicken from the little I've seen from him he has no pace or positional awareness and with Oviedo hopefully ready to come back next season i'd see it as a pretty fruitless move.

Kant reacted to Sibdane in Gareth Barry
I'd honestly be surprised if MLS wanted him... for a player like Barry, he would need a "designated player" contract to cover his wages; most teams are only allotted 3 maximum. I get the NYFC-Man City link, but MLS brokers most of the deals, so ultimately, the final say on whether or not a player can join a club is decided by them. (See the problem with Edu joining the Union from Stoke City).

Now I love Barry, and he is a fantastic player, but MLS isn't going to splurge on a player that isn't exactly "sexy" or an American player from abroad. Even though there is the Man City link, I just don't see it happening. Look at Henry, Nesta, Beckham, Ljungberg -- Cahill acts as an outlier for me, but he's still an exciting player to watch -- MLS is trying to bring in recognizable names to help build the reputation of the league.

I guess it's not impossible, but Barry would have to take a significant decrease in pay(even though he'd be on a DP contract, I still doubt they would come close to matching his wages at city), and he's not the type of signing that excites fans, although he would definitely be a good signing.

    Just my two cents.

Ok, fair enough, I should have made my point clearer. He's capable of the best (clever runs, nice oriented controls, clinical finishes) and the worst (blasting it high/wide), and I think he tries hard but he's inconsistent, not a reliable goal source as the no. 9, but a great player to have in the squad. He's much better than at the beginning of the season though, when he didn't look confident and he misplaced easy passes.

He has shown major improvement this season, deserving a position in the starting XI, and allowing RM to play different formations since he's efficiently contributing in the role of second striker behind Lukaku.

Excellent! He pisses me off sometimes, but he works hard for us and, when he has his shit together, is a match winner.

Also, should we sell him after next season, we will rake in a bit more dough for him. Don't want to see him go though, even if I do doubt his mental faculties.

He's a bit of a player and I said he would be a smart signing. When fit and required he's been very good.

Effectively he is a swap for heitinga, a low maintenance player who knows he's a squad member. Gives a good presence in the air, comfortable on the ball.

Yeah all the nay sayers seemed to have him judged before he had played. Good player, and good business.

There's no way United will take half what they paid after just one season, especially after paying £4m more than they needed to! The fact that not one club came in for him at the £23.5m buy out clause says a lot too. To answer the title of the thread, yes he COULD fit into the team theoretically, but he wouldn't improve it as it currently stands (just my opinion of course). Barry and McCarthy are both better midfield options. If Barry signs elsewhere this summer, then I still wouldn't want Fellaini back. I would take a chance on M'Vila if he's available (if we don't have Barry), his attitude issues are something I think Roberto would excel at dealing with
