How many people on the forum have been saying "bring in some of the youngsters, give them a shot since it won't matter too much, now is a period when we can be learning"? So, we do that with penalty-takers and "it astounds me." At this point in the season, why not allow others to take a couple of penalties?

Your blinded by tour support of him mate. He had a great game yes...one.
You say him.being dripped is nothing to do with his form....have you even watched him when he has had the chance from the bench.
    He has been invisible.
Lennon has been much more productive when given the chance.

I get your support of him o really do. He os an excellent player. But the fact is he is off form in a huge way at the moment.

If he wants to play then make the effort once you get the chance.

Just as a matter of interest....why do you think he isn't playing if it isn't his form?

Cahill and Bent came in six and ten weeks before the sale of Rooney and their combined cost was more than covered by the sale of Linderoth and Radzinski. Beattie came in the January window and scored twice for us in eleven games (missing three games for head-butting William Gallas in the seventh minute at Goodison in a game we lost 1-0) so contributed virtually nothing, unless it was a negative one; Arteta cost nothing. Your argument doesn't add up.

I think we only look out for kids coming through who show exceptional potential. Fans expectations are always that high.

They don't all have to look like they'll go onto be world beaters.

Get me some Hibbert, Osman and a dose of Barkley.

Some youngsters who can fill the voids left by ageing players such as Distin, Hibbert, Osman, Pienaar would do for now. The rest of the 'quality' can be bought.

Poor tonight. Looked a shadow of his real self. Never looked keen to get on the ball, and when he did, he didn't really do much with it.

Gutted for him. He doesn't deserve the flack, he didn't tell everyone to expect so much from him.

Get him out. Let him chill for a bit.

For once I'm glad that we have a manager who only sees positives. Those are what we must concentrate on after a game like that.

So proud of the way we rallied and so nearly got over the line. Problems in the dressing room? Don't make me laugh.

Would go someway to explain why he's been terrible and looked f*cked off last night.

What's the point in playing injured players? Seriously. Play Browning or a youth player, I don't care. Someone who's position is best suited to the area hit with injuries,.

I haven't seen the game so can't comment on the interview but the comments on here and what I heard over the radio of the first half, the last 10 and also Roms overall performance don't suggest to me that the dressing room is in to bad a place. Yes confidence is low, which is understandable but players that aren't happy don't put in one of their best performances and the teams don't keep pushing until the last minute.

Obviously don't know what the Jags interview was about but by the sounds of it he was pretty useless so may be more to do with his own game than anything else.

I could mention numerous games were we played some excellent football under Moyes, the 3-1 win to Villa away, Arsenal away were Piennar scored the cheeky lob, Fiorentina at home the 3-0 derby win at Goodison, the list is endless To quote Paul Merson we were playing like Brazil at times.
Moyes plan B was usually to shove Fellaini uptop. But under Moyes we could mix it up. If teams wanted to play open football we could pass it around as well as the best of them but if they wanted a scrap we could do that as well . Under Roberto there is no fight or passion. Plan A is fucked and so far there is no sign of a plan B

Incidentally I haven't said Moyes is the answer, Im just saying its total bollocks when people intimate that Moyes teams couldn't play football

When are people going to realise this clown got lucky last season??...inherited a solid back four and has turned it into tissue paper. Inherited players like Barkley & Mirallas but can't get the side to create. The guy is a charlatan, l'd rather have Moyes ATM.

Every game I've seen Hibbo in this season he's been more than good enough. That's every game he's played bar Swansea in the cup.

I don't get the hate. "Play young players" - no thanks let's play the best available and if Bobby thinks that Garbutt or Hibbert on the night then that's good enough for me.

It's all good saying throw the younger players in but sometimes it's just not beneficial.

Agreed, that number of travelling fans deserve to see a strong team (hopefully winning easily).
If Coleman, McCarthy & Barkley haven't felt any ill effects after Saturday they should start again. Ideally the only changes for me would be Besic in for Barry and maybe give Pienaar a start instead of Osman.
If the other match in the group is drawn and we win this we are in a great position.

There's just no comparison. Once an Apple user, always an Apple user. Android can't cut it when you look at the details. Plus, beware viruses! It's going to become a really big deal in the next couple of years, and only Apple has a proven track record of dealing with them.

Yes. Absolutely. He's been terrible in the first three games. IMO, Kone, while still not at full fitness, has been better. Maybe Mirallas will find his form in training, but we can't afford for him to continue in the first team right now.

Although their maths are wrong, just bear in mind that that if we sell a player for £15m, we do not have the directly to buy one in £15m.

The tax man takes a share when you sell a player and no doubt there are a load of other costs e.g. Legal, Admin, twatty agents etc. that will also get covered.

So much animosity towards Moyes, and it's ridiculous. He was poised to use Barkley AS A 16 YEAR OLD but Barkley broke his leg. Then he got 6 games in as a 17 year old. How many 17 year old's are getting any sort of playing time in the first team in the EPL? If anything, we should be thanking Moyes for developing Barkley into the player he has become. So many talented 15 and 16 year old's are nobodies by their early 20s. That's a significant time-period in a person's life and there are never guarantees. All things considered, he handled him well.
