He’s playing like Allan played when he was doing well.  The sad reality is that both Allan and Delph need replacing.

so on that basis alone - please stop trying to rewrite history. Pickford has justifiably had his criticism as he has many a fair number of errors.
like I said last week, his resurgence is a great credit to him.

He has always been a top keeper, and like any keeper he has made mistakes but like all great keepers he has learned from them and that is what sets him apart
Pope may well be a good keeper but he is not  fit to even be mentioned in the same sentence as Pickford

Hate viewing this thread. So much argument.  When DCL is at his best, we are a better side with him in it, no doubt.  Something is obviously going on but none of us know what.  If he can't resolve it, then it is time to move on as no one is bigger than the team. His cameos this calendar year have been very very poor. Also, who cares what he wears.  Power to individuality and all that.

Working his way back to fitness?  Ffs it’s been 6 weeks since he had his 2 week individualised sharpness sessions having already returned weeks before. 
 
even if I took the things I had been told about him wanting to leave in January with a pinch of salt…. The indications suggest he has absolutely no heart for the situation we are in.
 

I don’t think he’s a very good footballer at all.  I never have.   I have said what makes him different is that he is a tremendous athlete and if he worked on being mechanical he would be a top player.
 
if he stayed humble and continued to work the way he did when he was lukakus replacement he would be fine. But he didn’t, he got a flurry of goals that Stuart Barlow would struggle to miss under a set up where ancelotti basically made him a goal hanger… then he started giving it the “name pointing at his shirt”… became a big I am.  Turned up on Monday night footy to give punditry on his own club?!

I’ve seen players short of fitness give a lot more.   He’s a superb natural athlete - one of the best in the league and yet he has strolled around.
haven’t even got time to try and understand or defend him… he’s clearly fucked off lampard and many fans to boot at a time when we needed a striker  to stand up and be counted. 
 
 
 
 

Yerry is our most important defender because he is a leader and marshals the defence so well. He also monsters the opponents, he is physically imposing, he is an equally imposing personality and just boss's them out of the game.
Its no coincidence that we win so many more games when he plays.

Unfortunately Dunc…. When you have a good period it doesn’t transport peoples memories back in time to when they got deserved criticism and replace with a more favourable version.
Fortunately - he and the people around him have pulled his shit together.   Let’s not try and make out he wasn’t massively underperforming. Maybe having a credible number 2 has helped.
either way this was his best performance in an Everton shirt by a long way.  Well done JP
