I just don't get that they don't get a taxi. We all earn far less and if we want to drink make sure we have a driver or use public transport. I have my bus pass and Senior railcard

Sounds like he is definitely an Allardyce signing rather than a Walsh signing and credit where it’s due I think old fat head has played a blinder with both signing and easing Cenk into first team action

I think Cenk's confidence  will be massive now so hope he gets the support he needs and I think we could get a point on home turf.

Many thanks for that! 24 out of 25 pens eh? I think we've found Leighton's successor.

I hope to see Coleman and Baines along with 2 of Jagielka, Holgate, and Funes Mori.  Want to see Rooney deep lying with Gana, but strongly prefer Rooney getting forward as passer-attacker, Gana mostly staying back.  Keep Davies on bench, to replace Rooney in second half if (likely) necessary.  Walcott on right, Sigurdsson middle, probably Niasse on left, with Tosun up top.  Want all 4 attackers in the box over and over.
But ...... whoever starts and whatever formation, we need fierce energy from the opening whistle.  Fierce.  Energy.  This match is clearly our best chance in our next 5 matches to take 3 points.  Blow this best chance at 3 points - a draw is a bad result today - and we will be in a nosedive toward a relegation battle in our final matches.  And the utterly abysmal atmosphere surrounding this club at this moment will thicken.  It’s already poisonous.  We’re in a momentum slide, and it will either be stopped or propelled downward in this match.
If these players don’t play with mad energy from the beginning, the foulness affecting this club will envelop Goodison.  Today can either lift our spirits or get very ugly.

Aren't the manager and DoF paid millions to come up with a structure and plan? And have you forgotten how dreadful we were under Koeman? This is his squad that's playing the filth we're having to put up with at the moment.

I'd also question his record of getting relegated and sacked at two different clubs in less than 12 months as a Prem manager.

This is the saddest thing. I have never seen Everton fans so apathetic.
When things went tits up under Martinez at least people were angry.
Koeman/Walsh/Allardyce have ripped the soul out of this club and it has all started since we became able to pay like the big boys. Mercenary managers with no real philosophy, signing mercenary players who don't give a shit.
I would happily go back to not having a pot to piss in as long as the soul of this club remained (and we didn' go under!).

I haven't had the heart to post till now but agree with all the sentiments as I've supported this club since I was a teenager. I've seen the highs and lows but this is the lowest of lows and I can't be bothered to defend us any more....sad times.

Sam it appears we are stuck with each other until the end of the season. Just incase you read this here are a few thoughts that will make the time a lot easier for all of us:
    1) Stop playing Rooney when he is out of form. His short passing game is shocking and he is adding little to the team please play Siggy in there where he can do a better job.
    2) Stop switching center backs around, pick 2 and play them. I vote Holgate and Keane as they both have a future with us ahead of them.
    3) Stop playing Niasse as a starter, his lack of quality is obvious and it is hindering us as an attacking force. As a stat man please see the one about us having less shots than 11 of our last 14 opponents.
    4) Start using Cenk, we signed him and he needs game time, whether this is starting or from the subs bench I leave to you, but he needs to be playing.
    5) Which means that if your not going to start Cenk then use DCL as I think we would like to see him play upfront along with Walcott and Vlasic in an attacking 3.
    6) This leads me on to using wingers as wingers not "make do players" so please use Vlasic or even Bolasie (but ideally Vlasic) with Theo and DCL in an attacking 3.
    7) We are not a bottom 3 club, we want to see our teams go for the win when we have the chance, so sticking Schneiderlin on when we are 0 - 0 in a game we can win is not acceptable, just like starting a back 5 against West Brom or a uber defensive set up against Bournemouth when they are struggling.
    8) You put Garbutt in the squad so lets use him shall we, just to give him a chance to see if he can do a job for us.
So follow these 8 simple points and when you do leave in the summer it wont be in total ignominy, just some ignominy.
PS - If you could stop talking crap that would help, if you cant manage that the to quote Clement Attlee "A period of silence on your part would be welcome"

Another signing that we need to question Walsh about IMO.
Not because I think Tosun is shite but because we needed to get a striker in that could hit the ground running due of the position we found ourselves in, not a striker that needed to bed in and would be unable to contribute. What the hell was the bloke doing for months?!
If it'd have been a summer signing then I could understand it - you can give them pre-season and the first couple of months to get used to things. But a January signing like this one is made for the impact they can have in the final stretch of the season.

I have managed to watch the 90 minutes back again. A few things I noticed:
    1. I think Siggy playing left offers the team a much better balance than anyone else on that side. He spends most of his time inside, like Pienaar did, finding little pockets of space and even trying to get in behind. Walcott on the other side does the same so they dovetail really well. In respect of Siggy, by coming inside the opposition fullback doesnt know whether to follow him, the CM's dont know when to drop back and the CBs dont know when to push up. You can see that from his goal, and the shot in the first half. He drifts in, no-one follows and he gets the shot off. If he plays no 10 he is easier to mark IMO. The average position map is really interesting:

18 = Siggy, 19 Niasse and the 2 you can see is Davies.
    2. Controversially bar a couple of big fuck ups, I didnt think Mangala was that bad, in fact I thought he got through a lot more important work than Keane. Mangala was more aggressive, he showed great recovery speed and even for one of his fuck ups, he did a great job of covering Cuco who got badly sucked in, only to under hit the back pass (which Pickford should have knocked into touch). The second fuck up which probably resulted in their second best chance was when he was given a nudge just before he went to clear and if you have ever played football you know how stupid that can make you look. He should have just shovelled it into touch making sure that any nudge didnt stop him from clearing the ball but unfortunately its one of those things. Ironically their best chance came just after he came off and Williams was in no mans land and Cuco lost his header. Generally I thought Williams was a bit all over the place when he came on.
    3. Keane still concerns me as his use of the ball is bang average. Like Mangala he gave away a couple of really sloppy balls but the difference was that he wasnt under as much pressure when he did it, in fact once he wasnt under any.  He didnt have anyone tricky to play up against, just big lads so he should have had his perfect game. For the Benteke chance he gets dragged into the middle of the pitch but is nowhere near making a challenge and that left Kenny v Benteke where there is only one winner. To his credit the next time that happened, he did get his toe in, but if he is going to follow a striker in he has to make a challenge.
    4. Gueye showed that once again he is a far superior player without Schneiderlin sat alongside him. Lots more forward passes combined with simple layoffs to and from Rooney or Davies for them to earn their wages.

    5. It was a shame to see Coleman go off but that was as good of a performance from Kenny as I have seen for a few weeks. He played a big part in the 2nd goal, racing forward, latching onto the loose ball and putting the original ball into the box. For the third goal, he made a great overlapping run to allow Walcott more time and space to put the ball in and then got the rub of the green as the ball rebounded into the space he had just run into. If he doesnt make that run, the move breaks down to nothing.
    6. Rooney and Davies ran the show but in very different ways. Rooney was patrolling, making sure Gana was in check and organising from deep, picking the ball up and getting us going forward whereas Davies was buzzing around everywhere. Linking the play, getting in behind, putting challenges in etc. It was Davies buzzing around that got him the goal.

    7. Walcott... Different class. I honestly didn't think he would have this type of impact. He really is class, first touch, technique, dribbling, finishing. He just causes problems and all the time we are on the front foot he is  big threat and outlet. Even defensively he is working really hard to help his full back which is something he didn't have to do at Arsenal. He must be staking his claim to be England's most in form winger?

I agree we are miles away in our tactics and application than Arsenal, yet not so long ago we beat a far better Arsenal team than the one we saw a couple of weeks ago 4-0 and never gave them a kick.
What's happened to us in such a short space of time is catastrophic, brought about by a new owner who has allowed Walsh to have to much of a voice in all things team related.

Jags cannot be captain next season even if he stays. Great club servant and all that but since Neville hung up his boots in 2013 we haven't had a leader on the pitch which doesn't help when things are against us. Need someone bossy and gobby. Coleman for me if he really gets back to peak fitness and can start every week. Tom would be good for the future.

Go all out for Rafa he's got the class and the pedigree we need, he would be a good draw for the quality players we want at this club.
Whilst the Newcastle sale may or may not happen he must be feeling unsettled, could be the right time to take a punt.

I think it falls on the whole club, actually, and that includes Walsh. The disconnect between manager and DoF is just staggering. I just don't see how that relationship works / is working unless the manager and DoF are on the same page. If they can't agree, then bring in a manager who knows what he wants and get rid of the DoF. Walsh is bringing in players who aren't ready (maybe never will be) for the PL, Tosun being the latest expensive example. We can't afford that. A lot of people hate Allardyce on this board and want him to fail before a ball is kicked. As he's the manager of Everton, I don't really get that. The situation is what it is. Maybe he's not the right man, maybe Koeman was, or Unsworth was, although I saw nothing in either. The bottom line is we need to get to 40 points and reassess in the summer. Some big decisions need to be taken. Blame Allardyce all you want, but the players and Walsh deserve equal blame and criticism. Collectively, the whole thing is a mess.
