Elston Gunnn got a reaction from Formby in Ifs, buts and Maybes
Yes, I want Leicester to lose. But the single most important thing is that Leicester not win. A draw keeps it in our hands. If we can’t beat Bournemouth on the final day, with relegation at stake........

Agree. Right now I’d take a tie, puts it back in our hands to take 3 points on the final day.

I feel just as nervous watching this as I have been for Everton matches recently. I'm so afraid this will be a smash and grab

Commentator "how are Newcastle not ahead. This is madness"
Me: Because we need Leicester to lose and we aren't allowed nice things"

He has a plan, that alone seems alien after the last few years at our club.
We need to see what a sensible manager, with realistic targets and ideas, can do with the club.

Bad.
A new manager is going to want new players, new players that we simply won't be able to provide him with even with a new owner.
We know Dyche can get something out of the shit we already here but there's no guarantee a new man would be able to, and that could be disastrous.
Better to stick with Dyche until we're on a better financial footing and then if you want to make a change you go for it.

Elston Gunnn got a reaction from Matt in Ifs, buts and Maybes
Ifs, buts, and maybes still apply, probably to the very last moment of this dreadful season.
But no matter what happens, TT promises to be, putting it way too gently, very lively in June. Even if Everton survive, we will be snarling at each other over this player or that, how many EPL-quality players we have, who are the very most dreadful, who might be still worth keeping, whether we’d have been fine (well, mid-table mediocrity) had DCL been healthy, whether Coleman/Patterson would suffice at RB, even if Coleman returns, and on and on.
And bottom line, as Zoo 2.0 says, whether “we’ll be back here in 12 months time.”

Several, I guess: nerve-racking, nail-biting, stressful, hairy.
But with the vaguely plausible exception of “hairy,” the origin of which I do not know offhand, these Americanisms pale in comparison to “squeaky bum time,” especially for hilarity. Brit humour (like British spelling....) is, for me, alternately more earthy and more sophisticated than American. Not always, but often enough to charm me.
It may be that “squeaky bum time” was first uttered by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2003, referring to the pressure on Arsenal to keep up with Man U near the end of the title race.

Arsenal’s collapse is bad news for us, as Forest have a good chance to get 3 points at home against them on Sat. That would get Forest to 37, with Palace away on the final Sun.
Of course we hope to win our final 2, finish with 38, guaranteed safe. But we can’t be confident of 6 points.
Take 4, finish on 36, looks our most reasonable hope for staying up over Leicester and Leeds. Agonizing, though not as agonizing as for Leicester at this moment.

Just now a Liverpool goal. 0-1, good news.
Edit — Better news, 0-2.

A fit dcl makes all the difference to the team. It really does, to have a player who can hold up the ball and work the centre halves is huge

Could do with Southampton beating Forest really.
I don’t see us beating Brighton, I’d take a draw if we could get it.

Just as perplexed by the subs as anyone else. Keane probably should've been hauled off after the mistakes. Not sure why Gray didn't come on when we need an extra spark. A draw isn't the end of the world, but the win was right there.

When was the last time we played a team as defensively inept as Leicester? I cannot believe that 10 minutes for Gray and one of the strikers would've risked anything. What he's really risking is losing Dom to another injury when we's totally drained. That and our survival. Absolutely needed these points. Fuming.

Felt the game was there for the taking. Why the fuck do you get the players to run themselves into the ground but don't bring on subs when they are blatantly running on empty from the 70th minute.

Boys did well to get a point & overall performance minus the horrendous errors was good.
Dyche absolutely shat the bed there. 2 points dropped for sure.

Announcer: "Everton have given it everything". No, no they haven't because the have 4 unused subs on the bench

I can only thing that Dyche holds grudges like an elephant and the lads on the bench have all done something to get in his bad books.
Is our bench any good? No, it's awful, but a mole rat could see that we just needed legs for the last 20 minutes. FFS

It’s the same old story, can’t believe how many dozens of games we’ve seen it the last 3 or 4 seasons and last 3 or 4 managers.
Total inability to take chances followed by catastrophic errors by the same old players.

Keane and Iwobi off for Coady and Gray. Need to get back in this. Might even want Mina just for set peices. Maybe we could nick a goal from a header.

We need the mentality of having to win three games and nothing less will do.
