If rumors about Dele are true we have to sell first. The only realistic options at this point are Holgate and Kenny. Gomes and Gbamin are possible I suppose but far less likely. If this day ends with Dele bought, Gueye and Jovic on loan, and Holgate sold i'll piss myself. If we found a loan for Iwobi on top it would rival my wedding day.

He really didn’t put us in this mess… he polished a turd for a few months but there are many who did much more long-term damage.

Gueye walks into this team and would be far superior to anyone we could could realistically get on-loan from Real.

Gueye would be ideal. We desperately need legs and energy in midfield.

I love Lampard….. just for the fact that he is gonna send Palfy and PeteO into meltdown haha! This has made my night!

Picked up a yellow last night which rules him out of their game on Tuesday - just need to ensure he doesn’t pull something in the departures lounge now and he may actually return from an international break fit to play for us!!!

I don't think Lampard is the best of a bad bunch. I think that is doing him a disservice.
I'd be happy with him. We're not a club that deserves a top manager. Simple as.
Lampard will have hunger. He'll want to prove a point. He's young and up for it.
I'd feel good again with Lampard. Let's get behind him and the team. Put the banners away. Let's pull away from a very real relegation threat.
Then, please, some fuckin stability and normality. Thank you please.

This speaks to how far we've fallen more than anything.
Lest I remind everyone again, less than a year ago we were in touching distance of the champions league places and beating the shite at Anfield

In which case they're not behind Everton are they? Once the appointment is confirmed everybody should be behind him, whatever their personal opinion; no issue with people thinking he's not the right appointment but if/when he is given the job every sane Blue will want him to succeed.

He hasn’t signed anyone yet so my patience is already wearing thin to be honest

I like how the last one takes a little bit of a leap... Its a bit like me saying I am going to:
    1. Eat healthy
    2. Work out lots
    3. Cut my hair every month
    4. Brush my teeth twice a day
    5. Shag Beyonce.

This part can't be stressed enough. Sure not everyone will be over the moon with Lampard's appointment, but we've already seen more support for him than either Pereira or Rafa.
And after the last 6 months, having a manager that (most) of the fanbase can rally around would be massive for us.
He's not my first, second or third choice, but of the realistic options we have right now, I'd be very happy with this.

Lampard is Premier leauge, English football born and bred. He will be under no illusions that you have to be at it for 90min in the Prem, no matter who you play.
Pereira has won stuff, but Porto was immediately after AVB built a team and he was assistant manager, so rode the wave a little. Olympiacos is similar to managing Rangers in Scotland. He has never managed in the top division in England, Germany, Italy or Spain.
I just think Lampard will enthus the player a little more than Pereira. He is nearer there era and has done it all at club level.
It is a fine line, as no standout candidate.
Fans want Lampard more than Pereira, and the team will need the fans behind them. We can't under estimate this either.

To answer your question in detail I'd say....yes, maybe, possibly, probably, no, clueless, and don't know...hopefully clarifies things.

All he seems to remember about Everton is Jagielka, Baines, Coleman and Howard.
I'm not completely convinced he knows Coleman is still playing. I doubt even more that he knows Baines is on the coaching staff.

Hall of fame post right there. We haven't addressed this since Moyes left and our continued unwillingness to do so leaves us in peril.

I think the long term strategy is that we buy both players and sign managers that fit the same philosophy.
Clearly a manager will have certain ideas with players that may or may not fit as well as others but on the whole you don't want that strategy to change too much over a long period of time.
For example if the person in charge decides that they want to see Everton football club play high press, high line, dominant, attacking football then the players we buy and bring through the academy need to fit that mould. The managers we hire also have to fit the same profile. We can't go from Martinez, to Koeman, to Allardyce, to Silva, to Ancellotti and then to Benitez.
IMO a well run club will have been scouting managers as well as players in the knowledge that good and bad managers dont tend to hang around for much longer than 2-3 years.

    Disciplinarians: Koeman, Benitez, Allardyce
    Relaxed: Martinez, Ancellotti
    Middle Ground: Silva
What does this tell you about the success of different management styles on how this club has performed since Moyes left?
Management styles don't matter. The players either buy into what they are being asked by the manager or they don't.

I want to say having 3 Cb’s will help us defend corners but I just know we will still concede them

For a very long time I loathed the idea of 3 CB's but now, after watching other competent teams do it well, it's not 3 CB's I loath it's 3 Everton CB's. Michael Keane has shown dozens of times now he cannot function in a back 3. I wonder if we could make it work with Godfrey Mina Branthwaite (holgate as cover). Godfrey and Branthwaite have both shown the ability to take the ball forward and are balanced right/left footed. Godfrey actually strikes me as perfect in a competent back 3. Leave Mina in the middle, he should never be trusted with the ball at his feet. It could also help Patterson and Mykolenko settle in. Gosh darnit would Digne have been perfect for this.
